- JJames· July 20th, 2022Egypt was definitely an eye-opener. Mamdouh was the best possible tour guide you could ask for. Communication, planning, and attention to detail in every aspect of the tour, right down to arranging late check-outs at hotels knowing that we would be wanting showers, etc before the next leg of the journey. A really great guy as well - he made us all feel safe and he was part of our tour group, not just a guide.Show moreTrip date: March 2022

- Randy· February 22nd, 2020After our recent trip to Egypt we were inundated with many questions from friends. The typical were; “How was it? How long? Did you like it? Would you recommend it? What did you see? How did you choose this one?” Picking which trip was a group effort. Karen (spouse) did the research on what to see. Then between our travel companions and myself, we reviewed many and made a consensus choice. So based on Karen’s sites to see, length of travel, and adding in the theory of “if you pay a lot you get the best” plan we decided on Tour Radar’s “Egypt Luxury Tour Package 8 Days, 7 Nights. Payment and paperwork was no issue, all online and very easy to do. They used an online messaging system that tracked all conversations between us, making it easy to review and accomplish all travel requirements. We arrived late in the evening and meet our expeditor at the luggage carousel. Typically you are not allowed to meet anyone until you get through customs and immigration. Ahmed (our expeditor) assisted us in getting our visa, and then escorted us through customs, immigration, and to the awaiting van that took us to our hotel. Now that I look back, having an expediter is a must. Our hotel was a 5-star located on the banks of the Nile. The Kempinski is a well-known 5 star luxury chain hotel located throughout Europe and the Middle East. Ahmed ensured us we had rooms on one of the higher floors with a view of the Nile. It was perfect. The room was lovely and the view spectacular. We went up to the Jazz bar and enjoyed live music and cold drinks. The next morning, the breakfast bar was fit for a pharaoh. The first day was chocked full of pyramids, and museums and a few local flavors tossed in. We were able to experience all of Cairo; from Giza to Cairo traffic. The next day (early) we were met by Amed who took us to the airport, assisted in ticketing, getting us through security. The flight was short and uneventful to Luxor. There we meet our guide, Terack. He stayed with us until the end of our trip. For the next four days, we journeyed up the Nile on board a river boat with Terack as our guide. His insight and knowledge made for a wonderful and interesting trip. He answered all our questions, and struck a great balance of information and time to explore on our own. The last city where we docked was Aswan. We spent 2 days sightseeing, enjoying the local sights on land and water. On our last day in Aswan we were dropped off at the airport. This time our guide was not allowed in the airport to assist in getting us through any potential wickets. And we did find some. Getting through security was no issue but once at the airline check in the ticket agent questioned us insistently, while indicating there was an issue with our plane tickets. Concerned it was a language barrier, or a customs barrier, we really appreciated the ease we had previously experienced when under the care of our previous guides. None of the 4 of us in our group had thought to request Terack’s or Ahmed’s phone numbers (rookie mistake) in case we needed to call for assistance. I had to call the Tour Radar agent for assistance, located back where we started from who also did not speak the language, or necessarily understand Egyptian customs. By the time I had gotten them on the line, the airline ticket agent had solved our issue. Once back in Cairo, we were once again meet by Ahmed who got us through all of the security gates and walked us to the check-in at the airport hotel. We stayed at the Le Meridian. Having stayed at a Le Meridian before, our expectations were high. From the lobby to our room was a delight. We were going to meet our travel companions at the hotel bar but rejected notion when the cigarette smoke roiling from the bar was overwhelming. We choose instead to eat in the hotel restaurant. The food was okay but the biggest disappointment was that they had no Italian wine in the hotel’s Italian restaurant. All in all, a great trip. The sights from Giza to Luxor to Aswan made for a trip of a lifetime. We would recommend TourRadar for any future travel. If I could change anything, it would be the ship. This was our third riverboat cruise and felt the ship was dark and poor in design. Our other two ships the lounge and dining rooms were located up and forward with staterooms aft and down. On this cruise our stateroom was located just over the lounge and made for a noisy evening. The best part was having great tour guides and an expeditor at the airports.Show moreTrip date: February 2020
- PpaulScott· January 14th, 2019An excellent tour with an extremely knowledgeable tour guide who really brought Ancient Egypt to life. We were lucky enough to have Mamdouh to ourselves and he made every effort to cover everything we wanted to see and do, even where to take the best photos. We had a wonderful experience and have so many photos and memories to look back on. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour, it really is a must see and do when visiting CairoShow moreTrip date: January 2019
