- SSSophie· April 8th, 2019Loved this tour. As a female solo traveller I felt very looked after by my guide. Accommodation is basic but comfortable. Communication prior to the tour was fantastic. Saw so much in such a short time.Trip date: March 2019
- GKGavin· October 24th, 2018Sandwich approach here: The GOOD Our driver was very safe and very patient. He helped to ensure accommodation check-in was simple and picked us up in the mornings. The BAD Organization: This tour did not seem organized. Pick up/breakfast times were never published, and it seemed like our driver simply figured it out the night prior. Timing was quite poor with respect to breakfasts (15 minutes for breakfast is inadequate). There were multiple vehicle swaps due to a multi-vehicle arrangement, so people swapped out at intermediate locations when a different vehicle was going to the destination. A constant vehicle/group swap takes away from building bonds with fellow travellers and it's inconvenient to have to gather belongings at a random stop on the road and move everything to another vehicle. Itinerary: This tour has way too much driving (two full driving ONLY days out of 6). Driving times should be more obviously published. One unnecessary stop in Nakuru/Lake Nakuru should be omitted moving forward. Nakuru is a dirty/loud city. Lake Nakuru is nice, but there was nothing there which wasn't everywhere else on the tour. Skipping Nakuru would have saved many hours of driving and the day could have been better placed in Masai Mara or Amboselli. Transportation: Our initial van from Nairobi was quite worn out and my heart sunk when I finally realized we would be travelling multi-hour drives in that hunk of garbage with worn out seats, non-existent leg room, and a driver who said literally nothing. Accommodation: Accommodation defaults were below sub-par. I'm relived that 4/5 nights were upgrades, but the one default night was at the Golden Palace in Nakuru, which I'd rate a 2/10 at best. Location = terrible, noise level = unacceptable, food = poor, cleanliness = sub-par, safety feeling = low (see my trip advisor review). Tented camps appeared to be of inadequate quality and the environment within the camp seemed dirty, worn out, and unsafe. Meals: All provided by hotels. Dinner buffets were adequate, breakfasts were adequate, lunches were below average. Driver: Driver was not guiding nearly enough nor providing adequate unsolicited information. Rahim spent an unbelievable amount of time on his phone, but I suspect part of the time was spent getting information on animal sightings at parks; otherwise, I think he was just bored. Overall: I wouldn't recommend this company or itinerary to anyone. There are better companies (such as G Adventures) which will take far better care of the customers, provide more enthusiastic guides, provide far superior comfort, and do the same tour for less money.Show moreTrip date: October 2018
