Angkor wat at sunrise. This should be offered on the included temple day as we had to buy an extra ticket to go again the next day and the whole group would have liked to have gone. Muay Thai boxing in hua hin. This wasn’t on the itinerary but our guide organized for us. We also went elephant spotting at a national park close to Hua Hin which again wasn’t part of the itinerary but should have been, in my opinion. Our Thai guide organized these trips for us when we asked. She was great. Killing fields were heartbreakingly memorable, understandably not suited to groups with younger children though. The Khmer Cooking day was great.

There are so many! We loved the cooking class in Cambodia (& especially shopping for the ingredients). Visiting the Primary school and playing football. The Cu Chi tunnels. Making rice paper, visiting the rice 'popcorn' factory. Visiting the killing fields. The boat trip in Thailand. Visiting Angkor Wat and Ta Phrom. And especially having our guide, Doan (Dwayne?), he was excellent.

Our free day in Siem Reep was lovely. Just wandering through the ruins, exploring for ourselves finding hidden gems. The guided tour the previous day had been OK, but the commentary was too long and too slow. The local guide misjudged it entirely and lost our interest. A brief overview of the history and the option to ask for more information would have been better.

The highlights for me were The Temples at Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and the "Killing Fields" visit in Cambodia was very moving, Enjoyed the visits to Saigon and Bangkok but would not want to live there! For someone who loves taking photos, the markets we visited in Vietnam and Thailand were a dream although as vegetarians we found the treatment of animals upsetting.

It’s very busy and you move hotels a lot so don’t think this is a relaxing holiday. There is a lot of travel by private bus. Hours and hours. The quality of some of the hotels isn’t what you might expect, in fact the one at the end in Hua Hin was extremely basic, I stayed in better when I backpacked as a student. It was dirty, the breakfast was sparse at best and it felt like a real anticlimax to the holiday. The time in Hua Hin at the end is unnecessary, you’d be better cutting it short and spending an extra day or so in Bangkok. The tour guides are brilliant, and essential to get over the Cambodian border in good time. But they do arrange everything, including restaurants for evening meals if you let them and on reflection I would rather have done a bit more exploring. There isn’t enough time in Bangkok, it’s a phenomenal city. The tour guide did his best but it felt very very rushed. I hope you and your children like rice and noodles for breakfast. The food is wonderful, mostly, but variable in terms of quality and price.

Mainly this an excellent trip. The pace in Vietnam and Cambodia is very good for teenagers. The Thailand section of the trip felt less good both in terms of the itinerary (too long spent travelling) and the resort and location a little disappointing if your kids are active. The areas looks beautiful but the sea is so muddy that it's not very good for swimming and there is very little else to do. If you are travelling with a group of families with teenagers who get on well (as we did) it will be great but if not you will need to find your own entertainment. Having said that we did a visit to a cave which was great though we self-organised, rather than booked the offered tour which seemed expensive.
