Our driver Sonu, was a very calm and safe driver and the car was in better condition, with seat belts compared to the tour we did just before this one. The guide in Delhi was very good and quickly adapted the sightseeing taking into account the places we had already visited - we went to the Gandhi, ISKCON Hare Krishna Temple and the Lotus Temple. The guide spoke good English and was helpful and informative, We had asked the driver to leave Delhi earlier so we could visit Kheolado Bird Sanctuary on route but there was a lot of confusion with the driver about this. We later understood the reason (it was on a different highway) and he managed to fit this in on the following day. The guide (Bilal) in Agra for the Sunrise Taj Mahal visit & the Red Fort was very good. He was professional. had excellent English skills and a friendly respectful disposition. We found it baffling that the driver did not appear to be briefed on the itinerary or hotels and as a result there were some misunderstandings. We found it very frustrating to be aske the itinerary and hotels, when we did not have the full details. This resulted in us being dropped at the wrong hotel in Jaipur after a very long tiring day. He knew it might not be the right hotel but he drove away before checking. We then had to phone him to come back and travel to the other side of Jaipur. The guide in Jaipur was good until he wanted to take us to see "Arts and Crafts" - which we came to understand was shopping. We explained very clearly we did not want to go to any shops but he insisted it wasn't but of course It was a shop and we were the only ones there and were pressured to engage and buy at very high prices. We were not happy as he still tried to persuade us to go a a gem shop, a carpet and fabric shop and an Ayurvedic centre! The Tigress Resort in Ranthambore was lovely, although we were disappointed with the safaris. We understand there is no guarantee of seeing a tiger, but the were taken to the buffer zones 7 & 8 for our two safaris. They are at least a 45min drive away which takes away from safari time. We were also very late departing for the 2nd safari which reduced the time available. We did not see any tigers. On the last day, we were frustrated we had agreed 11am the driver was 40 minutes late because he was still having his breakfast. Overall, a good tour and the level of the hotels, guides and driver were a better level than previous tour we did just before this one.Show moreTrip date: October 2023
