- BUBarbara· December 3rd, 202316 days private tour through Uganda Thank you to Richard and his team, espacially Hami our guide and John our driver! Due to some cirumstances we had to change our plans a few times, but Richard was never tired and ajusted our schedule accordingly to our needs. Hami and John made our trip very special as they went above and beyond to make our holidays in Uganda an unforgettable time with amazing memories, starting from day 1 until to the end. Everything was well organized, food was amazing and the accomodations great. Booking with Mukisa safaris was definitely the right decision, we will book again on our next trip to Uganda.Show moreTrip date: October 2023
- JTJill· July 14th, 2023Our family’s 12 day safari with Mukisa was perfect from start to finish. We laughed (with our wonderful guide and driver) and cried (the gorillas) and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The company is Ugandan and the safari was completely customized for our family’s needs and preferences (no strangers to travel with and no line of safari vans in front of a single lion.) The price was better than competitive and the planning stage seamless. Richard, who has the patience of a saint, worked with our crazy schedules and changes without complaint. His responses to my questions were immediate - even when it was the middle of the night in Uganda - and our special requests welcomed. When I mentioned that I’d love to see hippos, Richard added a boat trip for example. When we asked about tree climbing lions, a lion tracking morning was added. The safari was very well organized but remained flexible. When our energy flagged, rest periods were added. If we expressed an interest in something, more of it was added in. The safari itself could not have been more fun. The food was exceptional, the accommodations comfortable and clean, luxurious at times without being ostentatious. The safari van had a pop-up top (great for photos), all the time wi-fi and a ready supply of cold bottled water. Our family’s favorite part of the trip, hands down, was our guide, Hami and our driver, John. They are smart and funny, resourceful and flexible, always sensitive to our needs and the kindest, most caring people I have ever met. They made potential unfortunate events (a flat tire) into fun memories (I got to ride on a boda boda!). I was constantly amazed by how much they knew - about the wildlife, the roads, Uganda. They created an atmosphere of such fun and warmth that the safari instantly became, and will likely remain, our favorite trip ever - in 50 years of travel! Uganda is an amazing country of breathtaking beauty and unbelievably friendly and kind people. I will always be grateful to Mukisa for sharing it with us. We have arrived home but our hearts remain in Uganda.Show moreTrip date: July 2023
- PPpauline· December 4th, 2022Just returned from a magnificent tour of Uganda. We went with Mukisa Safaris, Richard went to so much trouble to make sure we got to see and do everything we wanted. Our guide Hami, and John our driver were outstanding. Uganda is the real Africa, stunning scenery, mountains, rain forests, lakes, rivers and of course wild animals. Go soon, before it changes.Show moreMukisa Safaris Uganda commented on this reviewDear Pauline, Thank you so much for the wonderful comments about our work and tours. Your review is so inspirational! - Andrew· October 25th, 2022I had the most incredible experience with Mukisa Safaris. This was a solo adventure 23 day slightly customized tour of Uganda and Rwanda, where I wanted to spend a few extra days driving around Rwanda on top of an all-encompassing tour of Uganda. From first contact with Richard, everything was handled completely professionally and seamlessly, and responses and tour modifications were sent over almost immediately, as I fine tuned my trip, which really help plan (they can do economy / premium accommodation options, as well as customizing your tour exactly how you want) After being picked up from the airport, everything was handled to such perfection, and I felt completely safe the entire time, while we toured the most remote parts of the countries, exploring wildlife, rural villagers, and much more. All hotel bookings and transportation was handled by Mukisa, and I didn’t have to do a thing. We had a tour of Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Kidepo Valley, Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale, Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi, village tours, a 8 day hike in the Rwenzori mountains, and a few days in Rwanda to relax at the Lake Kivu and explore a bit more. My main goal was wildlife photography, and the vehicle was perfectly equipped having an open top for safaris. I captured some amazing shots of lions in trees, elephants, giraffes, monkeys, gorillas, chimpanzees, and local culture. They say Uganda has the Big 7 :) - add Gorillas and Chimpanzees My guides were Giraffe and Solomon. They were an absolute pleasure to have as companions for 23 days, having vast knowledge of the countries, national parks, culture, where to eat, and always providing insightful commentary as we traversed the lands. We always stopped over at great places to eat that accommodated an international diet, instead of packed lunches, however you can eat anywhere if you like. Any personal requests I had were always remembered, such as getting photos of certain subjects or areas, or searching for certain foods (Samosas are my favorite). Water always in the car, and they even a travel adapter for the Rwanda power plugs, which I didn’t think about. So much appreciated was having 4G internet the whole time via hot spot. You can drive up to 8 hours some days and the internet was always reliable and fast! I cannot recommend Mukisa Safaris enough, they can completely customize any kind of trip you would like, are so hospitable, and I left Uganda with some of my favorite travel memories ever. And on top of that I now consider them as friends and family. I will definitely return! Uganda, as they say, The Pearl of Africa, is the most beautiful country to explore, and Mukisa Safaris made it the most enjoyable experience!Show moreMukisa Safaris Uganda commented on this reviewDear Andrew, Thank you so much for the feedback and the wonderful review about us! The travel planning and accommodations (Tent Camps) were exactly as we wanted them to be. Our guide Julius and our driver Salomon were very friendly, very competent and very courteous. - BBurkhard· March 17th, 2019At the beginning of December 2018 we decided to make an East-Africa-Trip and bought flight tickets to Entebbe via Addis Ababa and Zanzibar. We had the challenge to organize our trip to Ethiopia (7 days), Zanzibar (5 days) and to Uganda (16 days) in only 2 weeks before departure. Fortunately I discovered the website www.safaribookings.com which enabled us to get offers from three tour operators in Uganda whithin 24 hours. Thanks a lot for this really good service. Biggest thanks to Mukisa Safaris with Richard who made all our dreams come true. He fullfilled all our whishes and modificatiins in case of planning the 16-days-route and also to include a five-day-trek to the awesome Rwenzori Mountains. Every requests were answered promptly with good guidance. At the Entebbe-Airport we were really warm welcomed by our two guides Joane and John and all of the Mukisa-Members. Then we started directly our trip with our 4x4 Toyota Van across the country to Kidepo Valley NP, to Murchison Falls NP, to Rwenzori Mountains and finally via Queen Elizabeth NP to the unforgettable Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Thank Joan and John we had a lot of fun, learned a lot about nature, have seen all the great nature and animals and people, we felt very safe and had most of the time a good wlan-collection. :) The accomodations at lodges or tented lodges were clean, nice and comfortable, the meals also were fine and delicious. Uganda is characterized by a very big variety of beautiful landscapes, unbelievable nature and very friendly people. From the awesome Rwenzori Mountains, to the great Bwindi Rainforest, from animals at river Nile to remote Kidepo Valley. We loved it very much. So thank you so much Mukisa Safaris for this unforgettable yourney with deep impressions and long lasting memories. We wish you all the best, Joan, John and Richard.Show moreMukisa Safaris Uganda commented on this reviewThis was such a wonderful tour!
