  As no additional people had registered for this trip, there were two of us and we were able to make slight changes to the program. We received a friendly welcome on the first day so that we could set off on our adventure. The driver was very courteous and helped us with the language and translating, showed us nice local restaurants and stopped at the roadside so that we could taste the fruit and water buffalo yoghurt. Thanks to him, we got a little insight into the lives of the locals. The trip was very well organized, the hotels were all in beautiful locations and the food was delicious. As I had booked the trip with a friend and had therefore each booked a double room with single beds, we were surprised that we had to sleep in the same bed for a few nights (the narrowest was 140 cm wide). Unfortunately, there were also "sales events" such as the gemstone factory and subsequent dance event or the one with the oils. It would have been better not to include these in the program. Instead, the tea plantation was a little more extensive, as there was only a short tour (15 minutes) in the hope of selling a lot of tea. All in all, however, it was a very impressive trip with lots of great experiences and we certainly haven't been to Thailand for the last time.

  After a sudden change in plans led me to travel solo, I decided to join a tour with Capital Lanka, and it was the best decision I made! Right from the beginning, the company was highly informative and responsive to emails, even arranging a hotel for me for the two nights before the tour and picking me up from the airport. Joined by two other solo travelers, we met our guide, Chinthaka. Throughout the tour, Chinthaka was incredibly attentive to our needs, going above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. While the itinerary provided by Capital Lanka was packed with amazing activities, Chinthaka was flexible, accommodating extra stops or rearranging the schedule to suit our preferences. The safari experiences were definite highlights, with sightings of multiple elephants and even the rare leopard in Yala! For those seeking adventure, the white water rafting was thrilling, and the hike up Little Adams Peak in Ella offered breathtaking views. The hotels were all luxurious, with the Chaarya Resort and Spa standing out as my favorite, especially after our safari in Yala. Breakfast and dinner were included in all the hotels, while lunch was flexible, with our tour opting for authentic rice and curry at local restaurants over touristy buffets. Sri Lanka is undeniably beautiful, and the people are incredibly friendly. As a young, solo female traveler, I had some initial apprehensions, but I never once felt unsafe or hassled, unlike in other countries.   The tour company delivered exceptional service from the initial email correspondence through to customizing the tour and finalizing payment. They were consistently prompt in responding to inquiries and thoroughly explained the tour and services. Capital Lanka exceeded our expectations. Our tour, a modified version of their Grand Tour, was tailored to our preferences for a private tour, extended safari days, and upscale accommodations. The pace of the tour was relaxed, which suited us perfectly, and this was all managed through clear communication. Our driver and guide, Udara, was exceptional. He prioritized our safety, ensuring a comfortable and clean vehicle stocked with fresh water. Udara's extensive knowledge of Sri Lanka enriched our experience, providing valuable insights and warnings at tourist sites. He offered flexibility in our daily itinerary, guiding us through each journey with expertise, whether on safari drives or train journeys.   Great adventure, all the hotels were good and my driver Sasika was great. Adam’s peak is definitely worth the effort. My favourite town was Ella, could have stayed a bit longer there. I would recommend 👍
