- mario· October 17th, 2023Unforgettable experience in Kenya and Tanzania. Everline, the coordinator, was always available to help us for questions, changes or planning. Excellent guides like Chris in Kenya and Moffat in Amboseli and Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi. Best memory: the Masai Mara with ChrisShow moreTrip date: October 2023
- MBMadeline· September 14th, 2023Logistics were very misleading. Especially "luxury bus" back to airport on last day. It was actually 3 modes of transportation and the bus was actually a crammed van, no air conditioning. Too many drivers and guides on this tour. Every time we were handed off to a new driver, they were confused as to how we get handed off to the next driver. Also had to argue with boat tour operator that we prepaid. They didn't believe us and insisted we pay. I showed them our paperwork and they backed off. Camped at Simba campsite in cow poop. Very disgusting. At Masai Mara camp, our toilet didn't flush, no hot water, and no water at all in our tent the day we departed. I can say though the food was very good and so were our guides. The hotels were excellent. Great shout out to Julius, our guide in Tanzania, and John, our chef in Tanzania. Overall I do not recommend this tour.Show moreTrip date: September 2023
- DGDr Tapan Kumar· August 25th, 2023Twelve days 11 nights Best of Kenya and Tanzania Budget Safari 1.The most problem with this safari is that the number of items Mr. George put within a time span is impossible to execute. Either Mr. George does not have knowledge, or he simply try to deceive the customers. As a result, some of the game drives never had a chance to execute. 2. Budget safari does not mean you have to eat food in a restaurant with flies and with roadside dust. We did not take the food for two times in Kenya. It does not mean also that your 4x4 Jeep can be a local bus taking people whenever the direction is coming from the general manager. 3. Two nights tent in Masai Mara, Kenya was Okay. on the way to Tanzania, you are not sure which group are you in. People are coming and going all the way to Tanzania. 4. The tent in Tanzania was told as pitched tent. We never ever heard of it. We thought that it will be like we had in Masai Mara, Kenya. They should mention the size. It is Lx W x H = 3.5 feet x 3.5 feet x3.5 feet. The bathroom is public meaning there are nearly 100-150 people sharing the bathroom. You have to sleep on the ground. In Ngorongoro, the temperature was between 10-15C in the night, and you have to sleep with a sleeping bag on the ground. I do not know how people can sleep in that tent. 5. It was our misunderstanding about the pitched tent. So I requested, Mr. Benjamin D. Ngalali, the manager, in Tanzania, to book two hotels in Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We paid for two-night accommodation to Mr. George $710.00 US dollars. In addition to that, we have paid for our two-night accommodation in Twiga Lodge & camp site, MTO WA MBU Branch, Arusha : $206.00 US dollars. (ref. no. 322219716601 & 322610183914). 6. As a matter of fact, coming here in Twiga Lodge site we saw the tents and were frightened and thought that we will never be able to back to USA. Frightened, I sent four messages to Mr. George, General manager of the tour, Kenya Head quarter, but he did not feel to reply to my four messages. Great George! 7. I will give him for his performance F-. I will not recommend this tour who want to see all the games and the animals. In the beginning, I have mentioned that within the time frame allotted, it is not possible to execute all the games. But, these people will do business like that. I will pray to God that All Might God should give them some commonsense to realize the facts and will be transparent and should not be a money-making machine. Lack of honesty. I cannot be more positive about this tour. The itinerary which you can fulfill, still you will send to the customers. Once you have the money and forget the customer. This will not be the motto of the business. Dr. Tapan K. - peter· July 10th, 2023Review Plusses. Parks awesome Minuses. Decrepit vehicles Advertised 4wd. The pickup from airport a portent of worse to come. Old cramped and dirty. The hotel fine. The first stop on tour Mitti Mingi camp, I don’t think they had a cook. I’ve never seen such dreadful meals. Cold unappetising spaghetti and sausages passed from one meal to the next, as was the chicken, hard, leathery pieces, with leftovers for breakfast. I had repercussions from this food for the trip. I had booked and paid for single accommodations, but they had none there, until I stood my ground. The room provided had a concrete add-on which had a toilet and a shower and only one tap cold. I realised then the it could only get worse so I “upgraded” the 3 nights camping to not have to sleep in tents. This was done with great difficulty and my fault for misunderstanding this tour involved camping. Food did not improve. This was supposed to be a group tour. It became apparent that I was the only one on the tour. I was transferred from one group to another to ensure the parks were covered, at one stage I had 6 drivers in two days and even transferred in the middle of one game park having finished the drive, to another just starting! Not once was I given for-warnimg by the drivers, just told to move from the group or company to another. To me, travelling as a single person gives me the opportunity to meet others and form friendships to last the trip which could not happen. The vehicles. Advertised as 4wd, became 15 year old 2wd Nissan minibuses which bogged twice and were as uncomfortable as you could expect. I’ve travelled the world extensively with other companies such as Intrepid, Go tours, to mention 2. All budget tours. Never has there been such lack of communication. It could have been explained that I was going to be a lone traveller and perhaps I could be more understanding. Not once was I told beforehand that I’d be pushed from one bus to another. The tour organiser tried to provide the upgrade from tents to rooms the the days camping was required , which was done. I have recently had treatment which meant toilet visits at night, an I needed bathrooms adjacent at night. So that was appreciated and done. If there had been this communication perhaps I could appreciate these countries were 3rd world and the drivers kept their English to a minimum. There was no guide to help overcome this frustration I had understood from the literature that there were opportunities to be had, for example, to balloon ride and the chance to visit the museum at Ngongoro crater. The cradle of civilisation. None were offered. Ngongoro Crater was just another game drive. To me, the visit that was to be a highlight. So disappointing. The Serengeti again advertised as the 6th wonder of the world was also misadvertised. The gathering of animals we were told took place at the other end of the park we didn’t visit so none of this was seen. The time of year depended on this, and this was the time of year. I enjoyed the park visits. The animals, awesome. The accommodation ok as expected. The food? Unedifying. Would I recommend this trip? Never. The roads in the parks expected to be rough but more stable modern vehicles would have expected. Seeing other more appropriate 4wd vans zoom passed was not comforting. The accommodation poor. The price paid for a single person? Of course expensive and expected, but no consideration given. The lack of a tour guide? This didn’t help communication. Perhaps I was a “special case”, being the lone person on a group tour. I could have been told. I’m sorry to sound so negative. I think they did the best they could. There was one driver Amal who did share his knowledge of animals and area but only with him 3 days. The AMBOSELI add on was good. A private tour good accommodation and a good guide/ driver in a 4wd fairly modern van.Show morePerfect Wilderness Tours And Safaris commented on this reviewCamping Kenya VS Tanzania; This is purely a budget safari and we say camping from the word go. - Pete· October 5th, 2022My wife and I did a 3-week Kilimanjaro hike and tour of Tanzania and Kenya national parks and reserves with Perfect Wilderness Tours in September, 2022. We were very happy with the services they provided and recommend them without hesitation. There were a couple of tour disruptions caused by others, mainly a long-delayed arrival flight, which Perfect Wilderness skillfully adjusted to to keep our itinerary intact and as scheduled. Highly recommended. Pete & Barb in BoiseShow morePerfect Wilderness Tours And Safaris commented on this reviewHi Pete, Thanks so much for writing to us such a great review and a 5 star rating. - Ronni· March 21st, 2022We highly recommend Perfect Wilderness! We did the 11 days, 10 nights Kenya & Tanzania Private Lodging Safari. Great price and our agent, Everline, was wonderful. Very responsive and answered all of my questions before and during the trip. We had a number of snafus (covid test issues, truck breaking) which could have really hampered our safari, but she was able to handle them all. We had our own driver and truck which was nice because Everline did warn us that we should bring everything we need. There are not much chances (or items are not available) on the road. Here are my takeaways: the Kenya side of the trip was “budget”. The Tanzania side was upscale and very enjoyable (they partner with Mama Savana. Ask for Harun as a guide). I would upgrade accommodations in Kenya, especially the Masai Mara camp (Lenchada). I would upgrade to another day in Masai Mara and Serengeti. Skip Hell’s Gate, Naivasha and Lake Manyara – very little to see. I would have added Amboseli. It’s pricey, but my guides really recommended it. Bring US$. Credit card machines were always “broken” and you lose on converting money to local and then using their conversion rate back to dollars to pay your bill. Most importantly, remember to bring the Hakuna Matata attitude!! You can’t enjoy yourself if you’re sweating the small stuff.Show morePerfect Wilderness Tours And Safaris commented on this reviewHi Ronni, Thank you for taking your time to write to us this great review.
