  There were a lot of wonderful sites, temples, castles and gardens to view. Bus ride between places can be a bit long (2-4 hours). Would love to have spent more time in Kyoto, especially on our own. Could have done without seeing the festival floats. They were nice for the first 10 minutes, but didn't warrant the 1 hour to view all of the floats' mechanical movements. Description says there is a lot of walking, but didn't say that that would include steep embankments and lots of stairs. Overall a wonderful overview of Japan and Japanese culture. Would recommend to anyone even remotely interested in going to Japan.

  Was a little worried about booking as there have been a few negative reviews. However day 1 when we met our engaging and knowledgeable tour leader I knew I'd chosen the right tour. There is no way you can see all the sites we saw by yourself in 2 weeks. Yes, there were some long rides on the bus and a couple of late nights but hey, we saw a lot. Osman the tour leader shared his stories of life in Japan with an engaging and funny spin and when weather or traffic was bad, he let us vote to switch our days around. A great tour and 15 days flew by

  I like the tour very much. The group was 31 people and everyone was always on time. Our tour director Masa was good. The program was excellent so many beautiful places to see! I would have been happier with more historical and cultural information ahead of the days. Few hotels were run dow old and dirty and the beds were extremely hard with only one pillow.

  A good overall experience in the sights and experiences of modern-day Japan. The tour guide, Osman, was knowledgeable, competent, pleasant, and willing to deviate from the standard tour destination lineup if circumstances warranted. When a typhoon hit the Tokyo area causing the cancellation of our Bullet Train ride, he was able to re-schedule it on another day and took us elsewhere. When the weather reports indicated Mt. Fuji's peak area would be visible that day (not clouded over) he took a vote while we were on the bus and dropped the planned destination in favor of going directly to the celebrated site to experience it in its full glory. He also tried to compensate for my mobility impairment with advice and options, as well as interactions and explanations to the Japanese staff of the hotels. Being the only dedicated photographer in the group of better-moving members was also a challenge for both of us --- every time I stopped to take a picture, I'd look up to discover the rest of the tour making a turn a block away and I had to rush to play 'catch-up', which came to be physically wearing. The bus driver was outstandingly competent on the narrow roads and unfailingly helpful, having my stored rollator ready whenever I emerged from the air-conditioned bus. I wasn't expecting the heat (33'+C ... 90+F) or the thick humid air (Canadian, after all), but the buildings in many destinations and all hotels were air-conditioned (with individual room controls), and I adopted the practice of many Japanese men of carrying a washcloth in my pocket to wipe the sweat off my forehead. A neck fan and sweat bands helped as well. An unforgettably intense and informative experience, which we will almost certainly repeat someday.

  We were so happy to visit japan, we visited different cities and enjoyed every single day The itinerary was comprehensive we managed to visit many places during our tour Highly recommend

  We booked via Luxury Escapes for a Japan Tour, visiting Tokyo to the West Coast and then down to Kyoto, Hiroshoma and finishing at Osaka. We were told the accommodation would be 4-5 star - it ranged from hostel to 3 star. We were told the tour guide would be a passionate English speaking guide - her English wasn't fluent and we had hours of no information (except where the toilets were and UniQlo at each stop). Unfortunately for us and many others on our tour the experience wasn't what we had expected.

  The tour guide wasn't as knowledgeable as l thought she should be. Lots of things we passed and weren't told about and her english wasn't very good

  The hotels were better than I expected: the guides and driver were superb. The itinerary was good but some days we spent many hours in the bus. I arrived 2 days before the tour started and was disappointed they could not extend my hotel stay, which should have been easy for them, nor give me a transfer the day I arrived, for which I could have paid extra.

  We booked our tour through MyHolidays2 in Aust. The tour company in Japan was Tomato travel. Our guide, Yumi, met up at the airport and from that time on was a true friend. Yumi is the most professional tour guide with great information each day and took care of all Hotel arrivals and tour costs. Tomato Travel should give Yumi A pay rise for her efforts. We would gladly go with tomato travel again. Thank you Yumi we love you

  Japan was a great country to visit, but 41 people on tour is way too many. The tour would have been much better if there were half the amount of people or less. Also the bus rides were very long at times. Our tour guide was very accommodating and very good at keeping track of 41 people, but his English was difficult to understand. It would also be helpful to have a list of recommended eating establishments near each hotel. Most of the hotel rooms were excellent, but a few were so small it was difficult to find room to set your luggage down. Also, a couple of bathrooms had deep bathtubs that made it difficult to step into and they could of used a safety grab rail
