As someone who loves travel with a mix of structure and freedom, this tour is a dream. From the neon buzz of Tokyo to the serene temples of Kyoto, every stop offers something unique. Personal highlights include the overnight stay in a 1,000-year-old temple in Koyasan and the thrilling ride on Japan's famous bullet trains. The group dynamics are fantastic too, everyone was so friendly and approachable. One thing I’d personally appreciate is the balance of group activities and downtime. It's great knowing there’s enough room to explore on your own while also having curated experiences like samurai classes and traditional cuisine tastings. That said, the walking demands are high—up to 20,000 steps a day—so comfortable shoes and a decent fitness level are key. The tour leaders’ efforts to make everyone feel at home, paired with the incredible variety of sights, make this tour perfect for both solo travelers and friends. - Daan· November 24th, 2024This trip has surpassed my expectations and our group leader was a huge part in that. The flow of the whole trip was great. Time to self-explore combined with super fun activities was great. Only Hakone was really short (less than 16 hours there). And of course the cities were not long enough, but thats because there is so much to do and so much to see. Only thing that I personally missed was a bit more of the music culture in Japan. A music performance of some traditional musicians or something like that. Adam was an amazing guide, he was so helpful and fun to hang around with. He kept his eye onto everyone in the group and was never too busy or distracted to answer any questions. He treated everyone with respect but felt convident enough to make jokes about anyone.
