India is full of adventure and so different from anyplace else i have been the whole experience was great. Obviously anyone would love the Taj Mahal, it was amazing but i also loved visiting local home for home cooked meal and culture exchange, trying street food, riding tuk tuk and rickshaw local transport. Special shoutout to the kindest, most patient driver in the whole India, Vikas. Request these folks specifically if you're booking this tour. India can be a stressful place and frankly, these folks provided a buffer to the stress. If only for that, I'm glad I booked a tour package. Not so great: The only decent hotel was the one at Delhi. The rest were fleabaggy. I understand that there are pricing issues but I wish there were some uniformity in standards. The hotels went downhill after Delhi. Neutral : Once you pay money to enter the tourism industrial complex via a tour package, expect the usual upsells--to go visit a particular shop, to get a souvenir that will probably benefit someone. It's annoying but guess what--try and be patient because it's the tour guides' side hustle--most are independent contractors whose paychecks come by each client they're sent. Just learn how to bargain like nobody's business, because everything will be overpriced. Or if the pricing, converted to your currency barely makes a dent in your wallet, then just go for it. Or if you don't buy anything, then tip very well. Just think of how much you, person from a developed country, makes in a day. Don't be stingy with the locals. Please.Show more
