- JDJan· September 28th, 2024We recently did this 13D tour with Discover Morocco / Easy Transfers and this was big positive surprise. I was little bit affraid reading some reviews but tour was organized very professionally, all informations sent in advance and biggest surprise was quality of hotels and desert camp. Hotels were 4* and 5* (Morocco rating) what is usual European rating 3*-4* but still every hotel was very good, excellent breakfasts and if we asked for quiet room, always was possible, not facing main street, no wake up by morning prayer call. Even Onomo hotel in Rabat was very nice, no disco during our stay and after we asked for quiet room, we got such really quiet. Luxury desert tent was with fan, shower and comfy bed. TGV train ride was good, safe and very pleasant travel between Casablanca and Tangier traveling up to 300km/h in comfort way. Modern train stations offer Starbucks, McDonald or similar fast food options. Highlight was our last 6days with Adnan - our excellent driver - when we joined in Rabat other members of our group (totally we were 6). Adnan was driving always with care and attention and speaking English and French (and probably Spanish too) it was easy to communicate. He did everything to satisfy our ideas ... Visits in "business" stores were only in Marakkech and Fez, so not a big problem (and less than expected), but I prefere it is even more limited, really nobody I know enjoy it. Guide should ask group and if at least one person say YES, then go, but otherwise not go to "overpriced" shops. What can be improved: guide in Casablanca was only one asking for tip agressively & info messages from Mariem were just less informative than needed ("like driver will wait for you after your arrival to train station" with no info where exactly and where the place is located - if it is at Starbucks we missed info, that Starbucks is not inside but outside and which exit it is, it could safe 10-15min searching over train station). Marakkech guides do not go to Saadian Tombs even in itinerary (they just say it is not worth a visit), if you have free time - do it by yourself - not sure why they do not want to go there, it is not bad place, not super exciting but worth a visit.Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- Maja· July 25th, 2023As mentioned in previous reviews this is not a tour with one group, driver and a tour guide. You get different drivers and tour guides in every city you go. Even though, it is well organised as they tell you every time what time you’ll be picked up. The only time you have one driver is from Rabat all around to Marrakech which is about a week. Big shout here to Adnan who was my driver for the week. He was an excellent driver even a tour guide from time to time. He was also a great company and took good care of me as I was the only one on the tour. He is a real gem to your company. Big mention to my tour guide Said in Fes, my driver Mohamed(I think) in Tangier and the rest of the drivers and guides. The desert was a highlight the only thing that could be improved is if there’s an a/c or even a fan in the tents as it was too hot and impossible to sleep. As for the things that didn’t go so well there were few and I’m sure it can be improved. First, all the places that are mentioned in the itinerary should be covered by the tour guides instead of them discouraging the visitors to go there. I mentioned few times that I wanted to go to the Saadian Tombs as per the itinerary and the tour guide discouraged me. We also didn’t covered the Menara gardens on the day. Regarding the gardens I was taken there the next morning for 15 minutes but nothing was done about the Tombs although I was promised that on my return to Marrakech I will have an opportunity to go. Second, the tour in Tangier was poorly organised and we were shoved in a restaurant for a lunch. The lunch was substandard for 200 dirhams per person. It would be better if the tour guide gives options rather then shoving the visitors in an overpriced restaurant. Third, the hotel in Fes is hardly a 4 star hotel as it’s old and dilapidated. My room wasn’t very clean as well. Forth, it should be mentioned in the itinerary that when crossing the Atlas mountings the roads are very winding so people who suffer from car sickness should be prepared. All in all it is good tour that covers a lot of places and you get to learn a lot about the history. The people are very welcoming and friendly and always ready to help you. If you thinking of visiting Morocco and seeing a lot of places that this is the tour to go.Show moreDiscover Morocco commented on this reviewDear Maja, Thank you for your valuable feedback. A DJ played till 1:30 AM, cleaned at 2AM. Moved furniture at 4AM. More cleaning at 6AM. Other hotels excessive car noise. Other problems, bad breakfasts, no assistant thru out, late pickup, didn't see some places. We Deserve some Money Refunded. We did not get what was promised . - DSDana· April 4th, 2023The itinerary covers a lot of the country so you spend much of your time in motion. There is no single bus with a group for 13 days. The itinerary is excellent and takes you from the beach to the desert. It goes just as described, without any negative surprise. Hotels and transportation are really good, and all the drivers and guides were very nice and helpful with us. Also, we had the agency all the time in touch by whatsapp and email, and they immediately returned all our contacts and informed pick-up time for each next day. We surely recommend it.Show moreDiscover Morocco commented on this reviewHi Thank you for your wonderful review and for choosing our tour to experience the diverse flavors of Morocco. - VNVeselin· January 19th, 2023I'd like to start my review with stating that Morocco is an amazingly beautiful country that I would love to visit again someday. Just not with 'Discover Morocco'... This company's management has displayed over and over again an appalling behavior and total disregard for both the safety of their customers and their valid concerns. Let me start with the fact that both me and my wife are seasoned travelers who have pretty much crossed the globe in search of knowledge and new thrills. We are by no means cry babies who will complain about small things or your typical entitled European tourists. We don't mind some adventure and we are fully aware of the fact that Africa and Europe run on different speeds and that's not necessarily a bad thing. However, we do believe that when a client pays for a 4-star accommodation they are entitled to the bare minimum of a) hot water, b) sanitary room conditions and c) non-toxic meals and d) NO live music directly under or on top of our room until 4am! Unfortunately 'Discover Morocco' first failed to provide all of the above-mentioned on a number of occasions(which almost let to the death of one of the tour members) and then simply refused to take responsibility. In fact going through the comments of other customers left on this website, many of them have complained about the same things and 'Discover Morocco' again showed zero regret and absolutely refused to either take responsibility or at least apologize for the often life-threatening 'inconvenience'. In conclusion: Morocco is an amazing country which offers an unique cultural experience accompanied with some breathtaking landscapes. This alone pretty much made up for this tour operator's inadequate tour planning and unethical behavior. This will be a 2 out of 5 star review and we grant 1 star for the beauty and rich culture of Morocco and 1 star for our very professional and sympathetic tour guides/drivers such as Adnan, Abdulrahim, Amina and Ashraf. We take 1 star off the review for the often unacceptable accommodations, some of which had no hot water, were pest infested(we don't mind live cockroaches in our rooms every now and then but just not in our bed sheets or under our pillows), had live music directly under our room until 4 in the morning, severely food-poisoned us and other members of the group to the point where someone almost lost their life during the tour. We take 1 star off the review for the fact that our accommodation was changed for a sub-standard one at the last moment, without the group's knowledge or consent and for the numerous tourist traps we were guided into without our consent, where we wasted way too much precious time while at the same time being rushed through some of the most iconic sights on the tour. We take 1 star off the review for 'Discover Morocco''s irresponsible and unprofessional behavior, complete lack of basic empathy and refusal to assume responsibility for anything whatsoever. If you decide to visit Morocco with this company, please keep in mind that should anything go wrong on your tour and believe me it WILL, then you will be on your own.Show moreDiscover Morocco commented on this reviewI'm truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with Discover Morocco. - MHMonique· September 22nd, 2022Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishI found the tour very interesting. Omar was very helpful and answered quickly. The trip itself was very impressive. You see a lot in a short time. I think we were sometimes in quite expensive-looking hotels, the money could easily be put into the trip itself. in each city we had a different guide, in itself nice since they are from town / village of origin and know a lot about it, but got tired of them sending us to the same kind of stores to earn some money, but after 3 times carpet business, 2 times argan oil, leather tanning row and you name it what they sell I found once fine to see, this also applies to the lunch that they wanted to earn from us. We were allowed to choose a lunch restaurant once and all the others were chosen for us. i thought i was on vacation and could choose it myself, but that was not the intention. very unfortunate. Because our group consisted of 4/6 people, we also had no tour guide (maybe you have one if you have a larger group) also very unfortunate, I do miss that. it's quite long distances in the car that you make. we were often after 9 o'clock in the hotel and then dinner and next day early up again. the last 5 days of the tour, are the toughest. in short this is a trip where you see a lot, you make long days and have no tour guide, only a changing chaufeur who takes you everywhere in the itinerary. i found it very annoying that i had to ask every day what time we were picked up by the driver. i had to email 15 times in the number of days to ask what time we were picked up the next day. also you have to make a day package for the desert, this is not in the description, but they told me at 23.00 in the evening while the next day 7.15 werde picked up. here i also got excuses on this. Adnana is a good chaufeur I would like to thank for our toursShow moreDiscover Morocco commented on this reviewBeste, Dank je wel voor je uitgebreide feedback over de rondreis. - thais· November 16th, 2021I really recommend the tour, if you wish to have a broad taste about Morocco. You will see a bit of everything. Too much information and culture and smells and colours and flavors. The schedule is quite full and you will wake up early and have long hours in the van, arriving quite late in your hotel because Morocco is a big country and the distances are big between cities. I think we made around 4000km. Adanane , the driver is the best. He looks like to be your friend travelling with you. The Hotels are fine (I took 4*) and the Moroccan people are sweet and nice and happy.Show moreDiscover Morocco commented on this reviewHi Thais Thank you for your review and feedback. - SUBRATA· October 17th, 2021Discover Morocco seemed a startup company and have miles to go. The company should provide a guide all along the tour as other tour company does to present the detail of the various attractions during the journey time. Local guides they provide are keen to show the medinas, and stroll through the various shops at exorbitant costs to fool the tourists. When tourists shows disinterest, local guides get angry. Discover Morocco should understand that international tourists come to see the country and it's various attractions and not to buy products at an exorbitant rate. Traders at United States import a lot of items from the various countries ranging from fruits to perfumes to all decorative items and we find them at a reasonable costs here. So, avoiding medina trips at various cities along with huge monetary gratuities of various local guides need to be stopped else tourists will not come to Morocco. The other thing is that tourism industry is hard hit during COVID Pandemic world wide and experts predict that it would take a decade to get it into a normal position as it was before. A few International tourists taking the risk to visit now and there on is not capable of changing the scenario of "Morocco's Economy" by providing huge monetary gratitude to all, because international tourists are not individual billionaires. WHAT WENT WELL: Hotel at Marrakech is located at a good neighborhood. Representatives were waiting at the airport to receive guests on the arriving day. A lot of policeman in uniform and plain clothes were present in the streets to avoid unfortunate events. WHAT DIDN'T: A. Morocco is not yet ready for international tourists particularly English speaking and Americans. Hotels to local tour guides expects hundreds and thousands of monitory gratuities from the tourists, since number of visitors are very less now. B. Although, government mask mandate is in place, Discover Morocco failed to implement it to it's local guides they provide to the tourists. They do not even have the information of vaccination status of the local guides they provide at different cities. Despite saying mask-up by the tourists, they do not follow mask mandate and maintain distance. THIS IS A HIGH RISK ITEM and need to be implemented to promote tourism during COVID pandemic and there on. C. IBIS Hotel is not a tourist class Hotel. 4* Hotel average costs is US$62 for two guests with breakfast. If sub-standard hotel with poor sanitation provided, tourists will avoid doing business with this tour company. D. Cabin area of the vehicles provided for the tour was not cleaned and disinfected daily. WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER: A. Provide a local SIM to tourists with unlimited talk, text and data for a month to stay in touch with the vehicle driver, hotel receptions, local police and tour coordinator. Average cost is 10-Euro and tourists can afford that during this COVID time for their safety. B. Providing lists of the hotels at various locations where the tourists will stay so that tourists can get to know the adjoining places around the hotel for example ATM Locations, Local Restaurants, Supermarkets. C. End of the day each day:- Next day program work-sheet encircling wake-up call from the hotel, when the day of tour will start, who else will be joining additionally from which city, what we cover, where we shall have lunch, washroom break, dinner and deviation from original published itinerary. It's not a rocket science. D. Hotels at French Corridor of Tangiers, Morocco should be advised to behave like a human to the English speaking particularly American Tourists. I have had a lot of problems dealing with the hotel staff for example they gave me an uncleaned stinking room with chocked toilet and bathtub without bed-sheet, towels, pillow covers and on. Seemed this room is under maintenance. While making the complaints to front desk and consiglieres and requesting them to change the room, I was told 'speak French'. It took me 2Hrs.30Min. to change the room after a hectic day tour. Finally, we went to bed at 10:30 PM without dinner. PLEASE REMEMBER FAIL TO PLAN IS PLAN TO FAIL.Show moreDiscover Morocco commented on this reviewDear Subrata Thank you for your feedback however we are quiet surprised to receive 2* star review.
