LouAnn· November 3rd, 2024Clara was the best "Tour Director" ever. Yet, we did not like being bumped to another hotel when the planned one was full, TWICE! We enjoyed the tour and Clara was just wonderful.

I wish there had been better communication prior to the trip and when we arrived as we didn't get our itinerary till a couple days later. - April· October 23rd, 2024We just returned from our 10-day Italian Discovery tour, and overall, it was a wonderful experience! The scenery was breathtaking, and we met some fantastic people along the way. The first part of the trip (Days 1-5) was especially great, with our amazing guide Blanca who made everything run smoothly. The food and the accommodation was the highlight in my opinion. While there were a few changes in guides and drivers after Day 6 we enjoyed the variety of excursions. Capri and the Blue Grotto were unforgettable. There’s a lot of walking, so bring comfortable shoes, and be prepared to start your days early. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to explore Italy’s highlights!Show more

Hotels were generally nice with the exception of the Florence Hotel which did not merit 4 stars. The last couple days of the tour were very disorganized and the leaders were less than adequate inclusive of taking us to the wrong hotel on the last night. - KMKristine· October 17th, 2024We just returned from our 10 day Italian Discovery tour-here are our thoughts: Can't say enough about the beauty of everything we saw & the nice people we encountered on this trip. HOWEVER, this is NOT a consistent tour-Meaning,I thought that we were booked on a tour with the same guide & driver for the whole 10 day trip-and also that there would be a maximum of 30 people as stated in the description. Day 1-5 we had a GREAT Guide Stefano & a GREAT driver-Luigi. We stopped to pick up other passengers at a diff't hotel on day one-those people had a partial version of our tour.That made it more than the 30 max-there were 36-38 people- So ask-if this is not what you want- We had several different people added to our tour throughout our trip-often dropping them at another hotel at night. Days 6-9 were a mishmash of diff't drivers and local guides, some with confusing information. There are a few excursion days where you have a local guide, and after the tour-need to find your way back to your hotel on your own ( they did tell you how to do that-but I would prefer to have the same bus take us back to the hotel.) Some of the hotels were 3 star at best due to quirky rooms, others were better-but the food whenever included was usually good. The included lunch in Motepulciano was fabulous! Capri/Blue Grotto day, which was our last day was definitely the most challenging-with literally 9 modes of transportation-mini bus-ferry-smaller boat-row boat & back again-also the guide on the bus messed up our hotel and took us to the wrong one-making a group of us have to take a taxi back to the hotel we thought we were staying at ( by this time 10:30 at night) Overall, there could be more time for shopping & more organization of where the tour guides meet you at the end of the tours. You start every day very earl and pack a lot in-Get ready for a LOT of walking-bring good walking shoes! Make sure you have coins for the public bathrooms! - GEGlen· October 17th, 2024Most of the trip was amazing! We had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was fantastic. The las 24 hours of the trip fell apart. The tour guide did not give clear instructions, He was not available for questions. He told us to meet at a location 500 yards away from where we needed to be. He walked to fast and did not carry a colored flag for us to be able to find him. To top it off. He dropped us off at the wrong hotel. The night before our flight home. We had to take a Taxi to the correct hotel, we will NOT be using Tourradar again. - CCara· May 30th, 2024This was a fantastic tour of Italy. I prefer group tours so if you are someone who wants everything perfect and smooth, then you would have to spend a couple thousand more for a private tour. My advice is to be at peace, go with the flow, be thankful you are in Italy and don't let things bother you. The only time I slightly got irritated is not knowing what was going on in Pompei and the tour guide, bus driver and tour coordinator were only speaking Italian. We had to wait in a hot bus for 30 minutes just to be told to get off, so my only wish is more communication. If we have to wait 30 minutes for a bus or if the tour guide is running late, then let us know so we aren't all guessing or having to find someone to get information. More communication is always better. A couple words of advice for travelers, have plenty of Euros especially for tips. They like to be tipped in Italy and they will tell you that. You will need Euros coins for the toilets too. There were times that you have to get yourself back to the hotel on your own and there were excursions offered so have the Euros to pay for all that. American dollars won't help you out. Please read all the fine print too. Some people were surprised about different things that were clearly listed in the schedule ahead of time. If you have questions, message Tourradar, they will quickly respond, I promise. I knew by asking that an inside tour of the Coliseum was not included and some of the other people didn't know that so look at every detail. It was so easy to ask for an extra night at the hotel so my husband and I could into the Coliseum on our own the day after the tour ended.
