We were the only English speaking passengers and knew that the excursions would only be in German and that we would need to make our own way, which we did. However, before the cruise, Tour Radar administrators promised that announcements and events on the ship would be in English as well as German. They were not. - ANAnne· November 4th, 2024We had a lovely vacation on Crucestar. Our CD, Julia, was lovely and very helpful as were the crew. We only went to the lounge on a couple of evenings and the entertainment was really good. We were allocated a dining table with other English speakers which was great as the majority of passengers were German and my language skills are poor. I have a very simple palate and the restaurant could not have accommodated me better, I even put on weight with the 4 course breakfast, lunch & dinners! Our cabin was sufficient with everything needed for a week long vacation. Only comments I would make is that they need bigger towels and I found the bed a little hard. The itinerary was really good. The only difficult mooring was Vienna but the included bus & walking tour took care of any potential concerns. The included tours were really good and we could have availed of a concert in Vienna. Overall, a great week which offered all that we needed and an opportunity to visit some beautiful places at great value for money. Oh, I am in my early 50s and I wasn't the youngest but it wouldn't have mattered as the whole experience was lovely. Well done Crucemondo and keep up the good work. - Juliana· April 13th, 2024Highlights: The locations chosen for the stops were great and so were the activities; the staff were amazing and kind (the restaurant staff was beyond amazing! Special kudos to Ninna and Igor). The cruise was clean, pretty and the overall experience was great! Lowlights: The boat broke down on the last day and left us to figure out ourselves how to return to Passau, the person responsible for our group left us behind, as there was no tour coordinator and this was above his pay grade. At the end, the leader from the front desk (Marya) kindly called/ arranged us cabs and reimbursed us (quite fast) the cost of the trip. The only hitch was this: the Crucestar was supposed to return to Passau. But instead we debarked at Engelhartzell forcing us at our expense to hail a taxi into Passau. - MWMargaret Elizabeth· November 10th, 2023We really enjoyed our cruise on the Crucemondo "Crucestar" ship. The cabins were clean and well maintained with daily housekeeping including turn-down service. The staff on board the ship was courteous and always happy to help. The food was excellent. Each day we filled out a form to choose our lunch and dinner entrees - always 3 choices including one vegetarian. There was never a day that I couldn't find something that appealed and the variety was amazing: beef, pork, chicken, lamb, seafood, pasta, etc. Each meal also included a salad and dessert and dinner included soup as well. Almost too much at times. We were assigned a table at the beginning of the tour and sat with the same people throughout the cruise. We had great table-mates - a couple from the US and another from the UK (we are from Canada), so it was a lively international table. In fact, the entire cruise was very international with passengers from Spain, Germany, Turkey, US, UK, and Canada. All information was given in four languages, which was wonderful. We took the optional tours in the four cities (Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava and Melk). The tours were conducted in English despite the fact that we (4 of us) were the only English-speaking passengers on the tours. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about their cities. The only thing I didn't like about the tour was the fact that it was a there and back cruise (Passau to Budapest to Passau). It meant a lot of cruising time. If it was a one-way cruise, we would have had a little more time in each city, which would have been nice. But I knew this ahead of time and will make this a consideration for future cruises. Overall, I was very pleased with the Crucemondo cruise line and will look at other river cruises offered by this company in the future.
