- SGStephen· March 17th, 2023An excellent getaway to explore the rich culture and history of Spain and Portugal, while taking in spectacular scenery and vistas. Informative and pleasant tour guides, particularly Margarita, who moved between Spanish and English quite seamlessly. Good food and accommodations. We took the upgrade on both of these, which we would highly recommend. For the overall experience my wife and I would rate this holiday 5 stars.Show moreTrip date: February 2023
- MVMary Marjorie· March 7th, 2023The overall tour was great. Nicely organized and attentive guide. Very knowledgeable guides. Provided a variety of cultural experiences throughout the tour. I enjoyed the addition/option activities offered, but would have like to have been provided with the approximate cost to better prepare myself. Hotels used for the tour did vary from very good to not so despite the fact that they are rated for stars - some had good location easy access to the city centre while another not, hotel service not that good ( VIO Zurique andShow moreTrip date: February 2023
- Rita· December 7th, 2022The tour was advertised as bilingual i.e. in this case, Spanish & English There was no English to speak of ! There was about 10 mins of Spanish followed by barely 2 minutes of poor English Passengers were Not treated all equal: The driver/guide (Ramon/Margarita) would always wait for the Spanish-speaking latecomers, no matter how long of a delay it caused. In contrast, they didn't wait for 2 English speaking passengers (ages 62 and 72) who were a mere 8 minutes late for reason beyond their control - they were left to fend for themselves with no knowledge of the local language, it was raining/cold and getting dark, on top of all that, not to mention one passenger had been feeling unwell since that morning. - NSNancy· November 18th, 2022This tour should not be marketed to English speakers. This is marketed as click tours in the US, but run by a third party Spanish company. I was the only English speaker on part of the tour and a few of the guides were reluctant to translate in English saying I was the only English speaker. Giving 3 stars only because most of the hotels and breakfasts were decent. Also, out of 5, yes 5 guides over the course of 13 days, only one of the tour guides Natalia, went above and beyond giving a bit of background and History on the destinations we were visiting and translating in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The tour guide Jose Antonio was the worst tour guide I’ve ever had on a trip. He would not give whispers to English speakers because there were so few of us. Well, it’s impossible to hear the local guide speak when indoors at Cordoba. At Alhambra, the local guide insisted on whispers so he produced them and it was so much better. English speakers paid the same if not more than Spanish speakers and should not constantly be made to feel like we are a burden. He was rude on several occasions not only to me but to several other customers who were very disappointed with this guide. Absolutely would not use this company again. Stick with Gate-1 or Trafalgar.Show moreTrip date: October 2022
- BPBoris· October 23rd, 2022We just returned from the "Best Journey of Spain & Portugal" tour operated by Click Travel company. Unfortunately, it failed to meet our expectations. Let me start with the positives: All of the hotels were nice; some better, some worse but all in all - totally acceptable, even though the 5* ones were not really 5* (worn-out and needed renovation). The local tour guides in all of the major cities were excellent. The guide in Granada (Alhambra Palace) was outstanding. The tour leaders (Alejandra and Lola) whom we had for the last 4 days of the tour were very good. The negatives: - On our arrival to Madrid, there was nobody at the airport to meet us. We had to send messages to Click tours and had to wait close to 2 hours until the driver came to pick us up. The explanation for the delay was "heavy traffic" on that day in Madrid. That explanation was completely unacceptable. They knew about Madrid traffic and needed to plan accordingly. - The first tour leader was totally unprofessional. She simply did not know what she was doing. During the multi hour transfers between the cities, she stayed silent for most of the time. When we complained about it, she occasionally began providing comments, which sounded like direct reading from wikipedia on her phone. - On stops to Avila and Segovia, we did not have any tour guides and were advised to wonder around on our own, using the maps from the Information office. While doing so, we met several other tour groups (from different companies) which were led by the local guides, providing all the explanations. - The tour was advertised as "bi-lingual". It was. However, the 10 minute explanations in Spanish were followed by 2 minute bad translations into English. - When we contacted the Click, they sent, from Madrid (or, at least what that person said) a person, who arrived to meet the tour in Santiago and began lecturing us that we should have not complained! His reasoning was - our tour leader did not know English well and that that was her very first tour, so we should have been more patient. Quite ridiculous! - The group size for the tour was advertised, as a 50 person maximum. There were 57 people on our bus on several occasions. - The logistics during the tour quite deficient. There were several occasions, when the "rest room stops" were allocated 1.5 hours, at some small gas stations, literally in the middle of nowhere - terrible waste of time. - There were frequent re-assignments of tour buses with people needing to carry their luggage from one bus to another with little or no help from the bus drivers, which was another example of bad tour organization and poor customer service. We are experienced travelers and had been on several tours with other companies, like CIE, Trafalgar, SmarTours and others. This tour, as far as the organization and the tour leader were concerned, was, unfortunately, the worst. BorisShow moreTrip date: October 2022
- Marcelo· October 6th, 2021My opinion only, I think there should be two tours separated by hotels, one makes friends with other people and suddenly you go to one hotel and the others to another, and also say 3 to four stars and it is not like that, some like the Park Hotel is not even one star and it is not the only one, otherwise good, the guide Rafael from Madrid is excellent.
