Good group dynamics.Trip date: November 2024- PAUL· December 2nd, 2024A lot of time spent in the van traveling back and forth. For some elderly people, some of the walking could be a problem. We got lucky, our group consisted of six tourist, anymore than that in a group would be uncomfortable. The sites were beautiful, the tour guide was good and the driver excellent. Just as any tour, I believe destinations could have been planned better. There were places that I would have liked to stay longer and some not visit at all. With that said, others will disagree. One has to remember it is only a taste of Japan with the purpose of drawing one back to visit what fits their personality. I was surprised how clean and safe all the cities are. Her English was average which meant in a big group (nearly 40 people) messaging needed to be clear and direct - she couldn't manage this. At one point she 'lost' the tour bus after a dinner (which led to a lot of bewildered laughing in the group but also an extraordinarily long day) and also left participants behind at another venue which she only realised when another participant pointed it out. I would have liked more information about landmarks we were passing etc. The itinerary is also a little flawed with travel back to osaka one afternoon, only to have to drive back again the following morning to the destination we just left. Hotels were ok, some very average and others better. Overall we enjoyed Japan but have come back pretty exhausted due to the rushed nature of the trip. Too much driving back and forth when we could have stayed in the second location and not had to drive back and forth. people were never introduced. We had to try to learn each others names by chance. This was my biggest complaint. No group gathering to get acquainted. I have never been on a tour where there was not a get together to get to know each other.,, I probably wont use Tomato again. - Anonymous· September 3rd, 2024Absolutely Brilliant tour. Couldn’t fault anything at all. All the inclusions were amazing, excellent value and it ran so smoothly. Hotel accommodation was superb, we thought it may have been smaller hotels, but they were fantastic, all in good locations if you wanted to wander out at night. Breakfast everyday included an optional Japanese breakfast, but we enjoyed the full buffet. Lunches that were included were of great value, traditional and so yum. Trip date: July 2024 - AAAna· August 6th, 2024This was a good tour. We visited several sites. The only problem was the weather. I went in the middle of July. The weather was extremely hot and humid. We walked a lot and ended up soaked with sweat. Otherwise, the places we visited were great. I'm planning on going back either in October or in April when it is cool. Masayo, our tour guide, was a knowledgeable person of the Japanese culture and history. I felt in the good way asa chick guided by momma hen. The tour guide gave us lots of knowledge and background of Japanese history and culture. Probably a few too many temple/shrines in the tour. The food was delicious as every restaurant we were taken to was a very pleasant experience. The hotels were expected to be small but were very clean and simple.
