Extremely knowledgeable, caring, responsive, prepared, and humorous. He literally held my hand and encouraged me when my fear of heights started to get the best of me during our hike. The views were amazing, but the warm hospitality of Berber families welcoming us into their homes to share in absolutely delicious food and “Moroccan Whiskey” (mint tea) is a memory I will forever cherish. Biking 40-60km day, couple of days hiking and a day horseback riding, with plenty of time to relax and explore. Great for wildlife. Highlights include watching sunrise from a pass Imlil valley, nature walk in Azzaden valley, kayaking through walnuts. Additional visits to farmes, Berber house and local restaurant made it feel more than a holiday and more of an education. Knowledgable guides and good minibus support made the daily routing comfortable. Cycling in Marrakech traffic does take some getting used to, especially frequent use of horns and buses running to a timetable. Our guide Ibrahim was very safety conscious and had no problems in traffic.Thanks Lahcen for the quick answers about our needs. Huge thank to the cook Ibrahim that make us feels as at home. He clearly knows the Atlas mountains like the back of his hand, and he tailored the routes that we took to my ability and fitness. I was blown away by the quality of the tracks that we rode, and the scenery was breathtaking. We also visited mountain villages, and spent time with the local Berber people on our travels. It was fascinating to learn about Berber culture and to share meals with them in their homes. The "Berber whisky" (Moroccan mint tea) also deserves a mention... I got half addicted to this while I was there. I had tried Moroccan mint tea before in the UK, but the way the locals make it in the mountains with local herbs and spices, is unreal. This stuff kept me going through full days on the mountain. In summary... If you are considering an active holiday ... Go to the Atlas mountains. And if you are going to go to the Atlas mountains ...
