- Sarabeth· March 10th, 2025The pros: fantastic guides in Cambodia & Thailand! It was evident that Kea & Chino loved their countries & really knew their history. Both were very personable & knowledgeable and enjoyed engaging with the group while introducing us to their home. Sites in both countries were stunning & well worth visiting. There were a couple of long days on the bus, but they were broken up nicely with interesting stops. Both had excellent suggestions on what to do & how to get there during free time. While there wasn't a lot of free time built into the tour, most people went out & about even if it was just for dinner after reaching the hotels (which were all FANTASTIC). Sites were thoroughly explained, giving us a deeper appreciation for what we were seeing. Cons: Vietnam. Our guide blew off our arrival meeting....he was stuck in traffic with an existing tour (that we were added on to). We sat for about an hour waiting for him until WE finally had to get ahold of him to find out what was going on (he knew he was running late, he knew we were waiting in the lobby & he couldn't be bothered to call the hotel & let us know he was running late?) He was suprised that we called, said that the evenings planned events on our itinerary were "no big deal" and canceled them, telling us to meet in the morning. Upon meeting in the morning, he offered no apology for missing the nights activities. The Sites we saw in Vietnam (bird sanctuary/ gator farm) were ok.....likely the only thing to do between Saigon & the boat to Cambodia....but not anything to write home about, certainly not up to the standard of the rest of the trip. More like places elementary school kids would go on a field trip. Mr Phat (the guide) was having to use Google to answer the groups questions. In conclusion, Vietnam was kind of 3 wasted days on this tour. (Although the group we joined had done N. Vietnam & it looked great). Once in Cambodia, it really took off. They are warm, wonderful people who do everything they can to make your visit the best ever. They're clear eyed about thir history, the good & the bad, and want to share it all. Thailand was lush & beautiful. The temples & palaces had that "wow" factor. This is a fast paced tour, but I never felt rushed. I'd definitely go again. Though I'd lose the 3 days in Vietnam or add on extra days in the north.Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewHi Sarabeth, thanks for sharing your experience! - VRVijay· November 15th, 2024My trip review is based on our personal tragedy during Vietnam portion of this tour. Several folks travelling with us were surprised by lack of safety and personal risk to travelers shown by trip planners. Here is an example of this. Vietnam part of this trip involved visit to Melaleuca Forest at Tra su. One of the attraction Travel Talk guide took us was bamboo bridge. Very little we knew when we got on the bridge was that significant portion of this bridge has been collapsed prior to our visit. It was not visible at the start. When we walked about 50 meters on the bridge, could hear crackling sound from the bamboo rafters and we decided to turn back. As me and my wife were returning back, entire section of bamboo bridge collapse throwing us in five feet deep murky green water with unknown animal and bacteria knowledge. My wife is not a swimmer. I also went in. Luckily, I was floating on collapsed bamboo section on my back unable to stand up. No one, including guide or anyone from park came to help. they were watching in shock. One of our fellow travelers, a firefighter from New Zealand went into action and mustered resources to pull my wife out of the swamp and then me. Without his efforts we could have drowned. With badly hurt body and nightmares every day, my wife and I were tired and could not fully participate in subsequent tours of this trip through Cambodia and Thailand. We spent significant tour charges to book this trip. However, what we got was a nightmare. Tour Radar and Trevel Talk owes us full refund for this trip. This tour is too hectic and too much sitting in the bus. We stayed in really good hotels. However, we never got chance to enjoy any one of them. We came in the hotel around 6-6.30 PM and left 7AM next day in the morning. This was not a balanced trip and involved too many highly risky tours including Rice Train in Cambodia, where you are sitting on the Wooden platform on pillow with metal wheels riding on rails at 25 mph. no side bars for safety. Too risky!!! Horrible on your back and tail bone of the riders. Can lead to serious injuries. I will be looking forward to call from Tour Radar and Travel Talk soon.Show moreTrip date: October 2024

- Brenda· March 21st, 2024Should have been called a “Temple Tour” as we visited more temples than anything else. Mostly the hotels were good with the exception of The Wink hotel, which was changed pretty much last minute from the Paragon Saigon Hotel, which was 3 star at best. It was a shame that we didn’t get to spend more time in these hotels - boarding the bus at 7 a.m and reaching the next hotel at 6:45 p.m, still needing to get dinner just for a repeat experience the next day was really not enjoyable. Moreover, during these 12 hour tours, our stops were for temples and one unspectacular lake; very disappointing. The speed boat ride to Cambodia was also disappointing, we were jammed in tight and seating was so low we couldn’t see anything. Then on arrival at Cambodia, we were faced with a very steep ramp to pull our luggage up and NO ONE to help- no porters for us but other tours also disembarking there had porters???Show moreTravel Talk commented on this reviewDear Brenda, thank you very much for the sincere and detailed review on your recent tour experience.
