- Lisa· August 15th, 2022Overall, the trip was great, Our pick-ups and drop offs occurred on schedule as advertised. Our tour guides were very pleasant and knowledgeable. I loved the fact that in Egypt we had actual Egyptologists as guides. In Israel Riki was our guide and in Egypt we had Ramadan, Bakr and in Jordan, Mo. I wish I could remember last names, The only thing I did not like about the guides in Jordan and Egypt is their constantly reminding of us tipping EVERYONE especially them. We are good tippers and did not need this constant discussion of money on our vacation. Negative: Poor communication on Vera's (our trip coordinator) part. There were last minute changes to our itinerary which were poorly communicated to us. We were told we'd have a private driver and guide in Petra which wound up being a bus with 48 other people and one guide to serve all. However, all of our excersions in Egypt were with private driver and Egyptologists with the exception of another small party joining us from time to time. In Israel we started our vacation in Jerusalem attending a family event, our booking tours coordinator (Vera) said that all Israel tours from bookingtours start from Tel Aviv but that she could arrange to have us picked up at our Jerusalem hotel, do that days tour, and get dropped off at our Tel Aviv hotel. Too big problems with this 1) It is true that you can go on all bookingtour trips from Tel Aviv but they can be accessed just as easily from Jerusalem where we had been staying at the Waldorf Astoria. Our Tel Aviv hotel was not the 4 or 5 star hotel as promised but a 2-star hotel (when was the last time you slept in a single bed). Also our pick-up location was located many hundreds of feet from our hotel meanwhile other person's in our tour bus were able to get dropped off/picked up directly in front of their hotels. Our coordinator Vera should have mentioned to us the option of staying in our Jerusalem hotel and going on our Israel excursions from there, not doing so caused us a lot of time, frustration and aggravation. Thank you, Dave Felter and Lisa EricksonShow moreTrip date: June 2022
