- Aldren Roy· June 6th, 2024Overall, a hassle free trip with Ancient Egypt tours. Guides are very helpful and will look after you, Ali in Luxor is exceptionally accomodating and friendly. They are good english speakers and smart. Salwa, from booking to the end of trip is very attentive and supportive. Our drivers, Mohammed (Cairo) and Abdulla (Luxor) are very caring, airconditioning and water bottles always ready after every destination. The only challenge in this tour is managing time around the sleeper trains, which means early or lates on accomodationsShow moreAncient Egypt Tours commented on this reviewMany thanks for taking the time to share your positive experience with us. - KHKayne· December 21st, 2023OK - this was 100% a 5 star experience - we absolutely loved it! We are from Australia, and I have always wanted to see Ancient Egypt and to learn about the rich history...and also to figure out for myself if all the stuff about Aliens and ancient technology holds up, or if it is simply the amazing abilities of humans and a belief in something greater that really spurred the creation of the ancient Egyptian monuments. Our contact for the whole trip, Salwa, was just fantastic and was very communicative and helpful. We were originally a party of 4, but then our 2 friends had to change their plans at the last minute and Salwa was incredibly helpful at working with TourRadar on solutions that didn't interrupt our holiday. Thank you Salwa!!! A few things to note – tipping is huge part of Egyptian culture. Being Australian, this is very different for us but it is just part of the experience. The internal flights are also not part of the tour costs, and this is an additional $200 USD each that you will need to pay in cash to the tour guide on your first day – very easy and simple and straight forward. Now for the tour - We landed in Cairo and were met by our tour driver Mahmoud, who was really great. We then had a late night drive through Cairo to our accommodation at the Pyramid Park Resort. The rooms were good. The food was superb - we had the immense buffet breakfast included - but ended up eating most dinners at the resort as they have a couple of restaurants which serve everything from Italian to more local dishes. The next day we were off to see the Egyptian museum and the Pyramids. Our tour guide Reemo did a great job, and was very knowledgeable about the history of ancient Egypt and the generations kings, Pharos and invaders that shaped and influenced Egypt over the past 5000 years. The Museum is incredible - I could have happily spent a week there just looking at all the artefacts, mummies, and sarcophaguses. We spent almost 4hrs there, which is plenty and we saw all the main areas and learnt so much my head was spinning by the end with new insights into Egypt. Then it is on to the Pyramids...and wow... they are impressive. I have always wanted to explore inside, and so with Reemo's help we were able to include this and I went into the Great Pyramid...which was a bucket list item for me, and just so special to experience. Then we explored the plateau, got a camel ride and a tonne of great photos, got a camel ride and a tonne of great photos, saw the Sphinx and snuck in a quick visit to the Perfume/Oil shop where we probably spent too much money on fragrant oils…but it’s all part of the Egypt experience and we love what we brought! Reemo was so incredibly beautiful, warm, and welcoming…and incredibly funny!! We absolutely loved meeting Reemo and she made the start of the trip just so enjoyable. Reemo really was able to provide us the high levels of information, knowledge and rich history that I was looking for on this part of the tour. A brilliant introduction to ancient Egypt, and the perfect tour guide to start our journey! After this, it was back to the resort, and onwards to Luxor via an early flight so we could make the most of the day in the old capital. Now for Luxor… while I expected Cairo to be my favourite place given my love for the pyramids, it was Luxor that really stole our hearts. Luxor is just so rich in the many tales and temples that surround the beautiful city that is situated in Upper Egypt along the Nile. Our driver, Abdullah, met us at the Airport and he was a very funny and wonderful driver – a force to be reckoned with!! Loved his car, and he was always on time and got us everywhere safely and quickly. Our tour guide though, Ahmed Mousa, was someone who really made our journey through Luxor one of the best experiences of our lives. Ahmed, from the moment we met him, was like a brother to us, and he treated us like family – it was sincerely very special. Ahmed treated us to some local dishes and coffee to recharge us after our early morning flight, then took us to Karnak Temple – this place is just unbelievable, and Ahmed explained not only the history of the area, but also the construction techniques and ancient methods used to build the solid granite columns, statues, and the grand entrance gates. Really mind blowing – and impressive. We had plenty of time to explore on our own, which was so nice. Then Ahmed took us to Luxor Temple, which we are so glad that we got to explore. We learnt about the many conquests and how there was once a 3-mile path lined with Sphinxes connecting Luxor temple to Karnak Temple. I also got more time to stare at the obelisks and walk around the grounds – but the level of knowledge and detailed history from Ahmed was something that I will be forever grateful for. I just learnt so much and was able to ask questions and enjoy rich conversation about the history of Egypt. Just very impressive. We had the option to do a few activities at night, but by the time we got to our resort (which is a beautiful resort along the Nile) we were a bit tuckered out and decided to just relax and recharge. The next day, Ahmed Mousa picked us up with Abdullah and we were off to visit the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple!!! This place blew our minds. The history, intricate details on the walls of the tombs, and the beautiful mountains that surround the area all added to the experience. Again, Ahmed provided a rich dialogue of explanations and historical accounts. What was extra impressive was to learn that during the early months of the year, Ahmed works at the excavation sites looking for more tombs and historical treasure – this man lives and breathes Egyptian history and I cannot recommend a tour with him enough. When we return, I look forward to exploring more of the new discoveries with Ahmed. Since leaving Egypt, I have kept in touch with Ahmed, and he continues to send me new insights and updates which is simply marvellous. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Reemo and Ahmed – you are both amazing and special humans who made my childhood dreams come true. …and thank you to Ancient Egypt Tours – this package was perfect!!Show moreAncient Egypt Tours commented on this reviewDeaR Kayne, Many thanks for taking the time to share your positive experience with us. - AGALNA MILAGROS AVERIA· May 11th, 2023Our daily tours were very well arranged. Tour guides Walid and Mahmoud shared a wealth of knowledge which made the tours very interesting. Highly appreciate the attentiveness and alertness of our tour organizer Salwa. She was ready to help at all times, even at 5 AM when the Cairo hotel was most ungracious. And when we made a last minute decision to take the Nile River dinner cruise … this is not to be missed. Few glitches on the trip but not the fault of Tour Radar: - took time to find the Cairo driver for the arrival transfers (both international and domestic). He did not have our names in a sign board !!! - had to transfer to a local taxi in the middle of the tour because the bus company refused to drive up to the monastery …. Glad that Walid said we should not miss that visit to the monastery inspite of this ride fiasco - due to a recommendation, we chose to stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel —- BIG MISTAKE! Night manager MOHSEN is the most unhelpful impolite staff and should not be allowed to speak to any guest. Hotel is old and unkept, rooms are small, got claustrophobic with the size of the shower room. Asked my friend why she recommended this hotel at all and realized it was just because of its location! Avoid this hotel at all cost! - The visit to the Giza Pyramids would have been great except for instances when people would oversell their services or would ask for tips non-stop even if they didn’t do anything at all! Loved everything about Luxor. Everything went smoothly. Thanks to our guide Mahmoud who was with us from the moment we arrived until we flew back to Cairo.Show moreAncient Egypt Tours commented on this reviewWe are so honored with your visit and happy that we have risen to your expectations.
