- Leanne· May 20th, 2023What should have been a fantastic tour, (we have been on Highlights of Britain and Wonders of Wales, both were exceptional) was a total let down, due to having a tour guide who was in her words ‘just learning’, we learnt nothing, every question was responded with, I don’t know, I need to do some research, we received no guidance on what to on the day excursions, and left feeling that we paid top dollar for very little. - Jeanette· October 26th, 2019Absolutely fabulous. This holiday fulfilled my dreams of Cornwall. Romantic fishing villages with cobbled streets. Ate freshly shucked oysters. Cottages with English rose gardens. A fantastic view of Falmouth from our hotel window. In the early morning, it was just like a Turner painting. Rick Stein's restaurant was terrific. This tour was a true delight. We will book with Back Roads again.Show more

- AAlan· August 27th, 2019Our backroads tour of Cornwall for us felt rushed. not long enough in some place, too long in others. Inconsistency in the quality of the accomodation, some hotels were luxurious and in great locations. Others were rustic and in remote locations. Our trip to Padstow and the Seafood Restaurant was very disappointing, the backroads travel brochure clearly stated lunch was at Rick Steins flagship restaurant. Rick Steins name does not appear any where in the restaurant or the menu. We were reliable informed by a senior staff member that Rick Stein has no involvement with the restaurant and if we would like to have his famous fish & chips we would have to go next door. The highlight of the tour for us would be our two night Stay at the Magnificent Harbour Hotel in Fowey, where we had a full day to explore at leisure the beautiful village, talk to the friendly locals, soak up the local culture enjoy the delicious food on offer and purchase many crafts by local artisans.
