We’ve been moving a lot from place to place around east Philippines, which allows to us to see different angles of this country. Definitely worth doing to tick off those sights, and there’s a great mix of countryside, culture, and beaches/sea to take in. Also visited some local communities which was an amazing experience. Our tour guide Ruby was great and made everyone feel welcomed. - Sarah· January 1st, 2025This was my first experience of an organised group tour & One Life Adventures price wise, are significantly better value than their competitors so I wasn’t really sure what to expect - shortened version of the review - I booked my next One Life Adventure on Day 2 of this trip! The trip itself was so varied and inclusive to everyone. Different ages, huge range of activities and a really nice mix of scheduled activities and free time, even in the free time, the guide always had suggestions and ideas what to do. Accommodation is really nice, central and staff everywhere are super friendly. One of the main things I really loved on this tour was that One Life seems to have a huge focus on supporting small local communities and businesses and giving back to the areas we visited. We visited small local business, ate in family cafes, had local drivers or guides, visited Bajau community, rented snorkelling gear of local traders and so much more. I think it would have been very easy giving the cost of living there to only deal with big companies but there was no big chain hotels and unnecessary over the top luxury, it really felt like you’re supporting the areas you visit. This was also evident in how welcoming everyone was to One Life guides and guests! Cost wise, everything bar a few meals was included in the tour! It really is value for money. I stayed a few days afterwards and it was then I realised how much was actually included! Lastly, the guide! As I said, this is my first time not organising myself and control freak me was sceptical!! But I can’t compliment the guide enough! Ruby was absolutely fantastic ! She ensured everyone mixed well and happy and involved at all times (which I know can be a concern for solo travellers!) She was a wealth of knowledge and gave so much information about everywhere. Anything she didn’t know (e.g. I wanted to go diving in Boracay and was unsure of the price!) she found out. All our travel, even through public terminals was so smooth. We just followed along. She had everything organised - again something I didn’t realise until I finished the tour and had to go to 4 separates counters to buy one boat ticket!! Haha She was also one of the most prepared guides I’ve ever met having everything imaginable in her backpack!! She was always available, welcoming, approachable, always smiling and calm & reassuring regardless of the situation.
