- SStephanie· November 30th, 2024Paid extra $1300 USD for private transportation/ tour guides and Abu Simbel and Hot Air Baloon four 4 people. The Company did not provide a private transport to Abu Simbel which is an 8 hour round trip drive - and which I confirmed was included in the additional fee. Although they did refund me $180 of the cost, it was the whole reason I paid for the private tours. Staff on ship were overall very nice. Unfortunately, the boat needs a complete refresh as it is was very outdated and smelt. Good boat, equipment and catering. Good guide. Considerate and friendly staff on the boat. We are happy with our first experience in Egypt. One point of attention, however: the cruise brochure should mention pick-up times and excursions. It's too much of a surprise for uninformed holidaymakers to discover frequent departures at 3 or 4 a.m. !!!! We were very happy with this agency, they were in constant contact with us, and the best thing: we moved around alone with our own guides in the most comfortable cars, it was an excellent experience without depending on going to the places in a group; the guides were very good (we highlight Ibrahima in Aswan and Mahmud in Abul Simbel), good cars and very punctual when picking us up. Cruise crew was so helpful and attentive to our needs that I would recommend to anyone. We booked our Nile cruise through Holiday in and had Ahmed as tour guide. What a great combination and all went so smoothly and their communication regarding the logistics was great.
