- ACara B· September 18th, 2019Overall, I enjoyed the trip and many of the activities included. Our guide, Prabarth, had a welcoming personality and shared great information about life in Sri Lanka. However, there were many instances where we were told to eat at the hotel buffet or that was the included meal. I expected more recommendations from the trip leader about local restaurants. For example, instead of the cooking experience in a local home in Jaffna, we ate at a hotel buffet rather than in a local restaurant. None of the buffet meals were as pleasurable as the cheap, local dining options that we had on other nights. Further, it seemed like some of the travel experiences were not very genuine. For example, we road a local bus for part of the ride from Jaffna to Trincomalee, but the coach bus followed us the entire time and picked us up part of the way there. The same was true of the train ride from Anuradupura to Jaffna. These ""local"" experiences then seemed staged rather than authentic.Show moreTrip date: December 2018

If you don’t nit include meals we should have be able to choose where to eat instead of being force fed cold buffets. Safari was awful poor elephants.
