- AGlena Cheng· January 17th, 2020We choose to travel with Say Hueque because of the Good reviews on Trip Advisor The booking process was Very smooth- Laura was fantastic accommodating my requests regarding adding activities/changing times Our favorite hotel was Kkala (very nice staff/setting/accomodations/desserts at night); in general, all the 3 chosen hotels were nice; although it would have been helpful to known beforehand that Kkala and La Aldea de La Selva were both far from the city center so that could plan for need to use taxi/Uber Seeing Iguazu was the most striking part of my visit; we had an excellent guide who was knowledgable, efficient, and very enthusiastic. enjoying the site with fellow travelers was spectacular. Ceci from Say Hueque was incredibly kind and knowledgeable - I appreciate her being flexible to change the walking tour to see what I wanted to see and loved her passion for food and teaching/sharing mate with me! Manuel of the Iguazu tour was the amazing guide for the other excursion. I was least impressed with the Full Day Salinas Grandes through Purmamarca tour -first of all, the driver smoked, so even though he smoked outside of the car, the smell of smoke would waft into the car in between breaks -the guide did not have very smooth transitions between the English/Spanish transitions of her descriptions, making it hard for English-only speakers to understand things as fully as the Spanish or Spanish and English speaking passengers -there was a lot of driving/bumpy roads to reach the mining town/the Salinas, and the sights seemed a little underwhelming for the amount of time we spent on the road although there were some beautiful views/sights Overall, I had a lovely time seeing the country and meeting Argentinians and people from other parts of the world. There was a good balance of free time/group time. Thank you for helping make this a wonderful trip!Show moreSay Hueque Argentina & Chile Journeys commented on this reviewThank you for your comments! - AKathleen & Bart· January 17th, 2020North Argentina. This trip exceeded our expectations by far...and they were high, believe me. Some comments on SayHueque in general: A very personal approach "from start to finish", from the very first inquiry by mail until saying goodbye at the airport. No effort is being spared to make it your best holiday ever. The quality of information provided regarding hotels, restaurants, tours, places of interest,… Extremely good value for money! About the trip itself: one word: marvellous ... in any way! And if you're visiting North Argentina,do stay at Rincon del Socorro, it's a unique gem in the middle of nowhere.Special thanks to Elisa and Mariano, thanks to you guys we had the time of our life!Show moreSay Hueque Argentina & Chile Journeys commented on this reviewIt's very rewarding to read your review! - ALeo Jo Estercam· January 17th, 2020Only Say Hueque could fulfill our needs. Once the complete plan was elaborated, we went over to the booking of the airplane and then finally adapted the plan to it. The rest was simple and easy. Hotel Del Virrey in Salta and Los Colorados in Purmamarca were excellent; all the others were ok but those two excelled. All hotels were perfectly located. Regading our favourite excursion, the 3-day tour Calchaqui Valley in Salta. ‘El Turco’ in Salta and Agostina in Buenos Aires are guides that need special mention. It would have been better to have private service (iso shared) for the 2-day Saltflats in Salta and the San Ignacio where the guide didn’t speak English at all.Show moreSay Hueque Argentina & Chile Journeys commented on this reviewHi! - AJohn Schindelar· January 17th, 2020There are too many guides and drivers to mention, but credit must go to Say Hueque as they are the ones doing the job assignments. I should say that my wife and I like to do "shared driving" which gives us an opportunity to meet other Americans and meet people from other countries. This year's experience was private transportation and was very much appreciated. There were four of us traveling together on this itinerary, so having the advantage of one vehicle for us was expedient as well as convenient.. The following is a recap our itinerary this year. Cities/Accommodations-- BUENOS AIRES: We stayed at the BoBo Hotel. We love this little unique hotel. The rooms are a bit small, but the BoBo is spotlessly clean and in the Palermo Soho District, within walking distance of museums, gardens, shopping, restaurants, and historical sights. Breakfast is served in the hotel's restaurant, and one has many choices with eggs served exactly as you like them. The restaurant is a little spendy for dinner but really is wonderful with EXCELLENT service and nice wine choices. It is also a great place to recover from the long flight from Portland, Oregon, to Buenos Aires before getting out and exploring. SALTA: Hotel Antiguo Convento: This hotel in the city was one I wasn't sure we were going to like, but it really grew on us. The rooms were small, old, but very neat and clean. The staff provided 5 star service, especially since we had 2 overnighters. They had to move our luggage to storage and then back to our room again two times--three, if one includes check-in. Breakfast was not my style, but most people loved it. It was the French style with lots of breads and pastries, but little protein. It was located near many restaurants, historical sites, and shopping. Give this hotel a chance. I think you will like it. PURMAMARCA: Los Colorados, a very nice accommodation just overlooking Purmamarca. The rooms are huge and in a lovely adobe style. They have kitchens if you like, and have wonderful views of the city. There are patios on the roof top or on the lawns on the ground level. We had experienced a long 10-hour drive on Route 40 to Purmamarca and were very tired, so the host suggested having a local, very good restaurant bring a take-out dinner to our room. She made all the arrangements and we were very thankful; the dinner was excellent. As for breakfast, it was delivered right to our room. How nice was that? We would recommend this hotel for a unique experience. It is within walking distance of town, but could be a little tough at night on a rough dirt road. Take a flashlight. Get onto the roof top at sunrise and sunset. It will be two of the most beautiful sights to see in Purmamarca. By the way, plan on not using your VISA in Purnamarca and many parts of Salta and Jujuy Province. The distances between the major cities are far; villages are remote. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking through valleys and gorges and across deserts to the top of mountains--spectacular. CAFAYATE: Cafayate Wine Resort, a very beautiful place looking across the city directly at the distant mountains. The rooms are 5 star, the grounds are beautiful, they have a very nice restaurant, service was excellent, and breakfast was very nice. Dinner was excellent and beautifully presented, but a little pricey. You can walk to town, but it will take about 1/2 hour at a good pace on a gravel road. Most people use taxi service. Many used the pool at this resort. This is a place to relax, drink wine, eat well, and enjoy the scenery. Say Hueque scored another goal with this place. Our experience with Say Hueque has been 5 stars. Not only have we used Say Hueque twice in 2 years, but we brought 4 guests with us. We have recommended Say Hueque to many of our friends and acquaintances and at least two persons used Say Hueque for their tour to Argentina.Show moreSay Hueque Argentina & Chile Journeys commented on this reviewThank you Juan and Juana! - JGJoan· March 23rd, 2017I would highly recommend Say Hueque for travel services in Argentina based on my travel needs. Patricio was very through in assisting me with my tours and other needed reservations. He was prompt in returning calls and precise in details for my satisfaction. Having a toll free tele # to contact them from USA was super! All of the guides I had for 3 different tours were concerned about satisfaction and never hesitated with answering questions. They kept us informed of additional informational for further understanding of this beautiful culture and its unreal natural surroundings. I would highly recommend Perito Moreno pioneers tour as it is full of so many sights... ranch living, a barbeque that melts in your mouth with scrumptious tastes and other trimmings with Malbec, and topped off with a boat ride to the wall of Perito Moreno glacier. Other recommended tours are. The Iguazu Falls and hiking in El Chalten seeing gorgeous Mt fritz Roy. My hotel choices were excellent and close to city center for walking or free hotel shuttle service if needed. I rate all a 4+Show moreSay Hueque Argentina & Chile Journeys commented on this reviewHi Joan! Thanks for this incredible review! We are glad you had a wonderful time exploring Argentina.
