The beginning... bamba started operating with a hop-on hop-off bus service. After trial and error, bamba realised that travellers were very interested in not only being around other backpackers and meeting them, but they also wanted to have the opportunity to travel in local transportation, and...

- AAndrewFinn· October 1st, 2019Amazing trip! I want to go back. The guides were amazing, super friendly. The safari was unreal! Have always been a bit reluctant to go on a safari, because you just sit down taking pictures of the animals in a car. There was a real balance of different sites, we were able to walk around, the guides were really professional. I always felt safe. Loved every second of it.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewDear Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent adventure with us. - Sigrid· May 31st, 2019Awesome safari and very well organized. The lodges that we booked were super nice, the meals were a delicious and 4x4 vehicle as very comfortable and the tour guide Laurent Steiner was super funny and very knowledgeable. Glad that we chose Bamba to go on this safari.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHello Sigrid, Thank you very much for your kind feedback! We are so happy you had an excellent time! - MMiaBengtsson· April 13th, 2019Great wildlife experience! I enjoyed the campsites in each destination, they catered for vegetarian meals which was great, and the tour guide could spot animals from very far and he was very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our trip with Bamba. Great job!Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewHello Mia, thank you very much for your kind feedback! We are so happy you had an excellent time! - JJJeremy· February 26th, 2018The whole experience with Bamba Experience once we arrived in Tanzania for our safari was a disaster. I had to email the company the night before the safari, because they never sent me a final confirmation that I needed to be picked up the next morning from the hotel we stayed at in Arusha. I was not even sure that someone would actually show up the next morning. I did dig through some emails and one said I am supposed to ask for the final schedule. This is something that should be arranged automatically by the company so all customers know how the trip will go and they should also confirm where we are staying the night before. We signed up for a Budget Safari in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara and we were told the accommodation would be 'typical of Africa' and rustic. I have been backpacking for 3 months through Africa and from what I saw these camps were not typical of Africa. The Pimbi Camp in the Serengeti was absolutely disgusting with toilets full of urine and feces, no hot water, and safari animals digging through the trash at night that the camp staff is too lazy to put away. It really is a disgrace to see a place as environmentally unfriendly right in the middle of a national park! Everything on the tour was always a surprise: we were never given the option to tell the chef what we could or couldn't eat, we were never told specific times for meals, and what the full plan was for the day. The lunches were mostly packed lunches, with cold and bland food. Bamba also flat out lied about transit times in their vague itinerary they sent us when we first bought the tour: one day took 9 hours on a cramped, out of date safari vehicle, and no A/C and we were told only 4 hours. Also, were forced to sit in the Pimbi Camp for 3 hours in the heat with nothing to do and we couldn't leave earlier and enter the next area, because of a 24 hour time limit for the next park. Four other people were included in our tour group and they were given much better information and service by their travel agency: the manager of the safari company was instructed to go to their hotel the night before pickup and fully explain in detail what would happen. Bamba never arranged this for us. The customer service at Bamba is nonexistent: they will not reply to emails promptly, they won't answer the phones, and I have already talked with 3 different people about this safari and they could care less. While we did see many animals, the quality of the safari is much less that what you would get in South Africa, Zambia, or Botswana where I have been previously. The car is sealed with windows that screech and scare the animals unlike the open air trucks in Southern Africa. You have to stand up on your tippy toes just to look out through the open roof and makes the experience crowded and uncomfortable when there are 5 other people in the car trying to do the same. The guide was okay, but we always have to demand he stop for animals, to tell us information, or the use the restrooms. We also emailed Bamba during the tour telling them all the problems and they made the guide gather the whole group and ask everyone to publicly announce what they thought about the tour! One of the most awkward conversations and I have ever had during a tour. I will never go through Bamba Experience ever again and I will tell every traveler I meet to not waste their time with them.Show moreBamba Travel commented on this reviewDear Jeremy, First of all, we want to thank you for taking your time to share your comments, it helps us to improve our services.
