- MSMarch· April 9th, 2024Julia didn't operate this tour, a company called LUXO out of Morocco did. It was supposed to be an English-speaking tour. It was Spanish tour with OK English. Our guide was great as was the driver. The country is beautiful. BUT: The hotels were mediocre. The food at them was bland, boring and repetitious, Very disappointing. The "motor coach" was a disaster. Possibly because only 16 signed up for the tour we were given an old, small coach that sat 24 people in narrow seats. The first day, bus broke down and we spent an hour and one-half waiting outside of Fez for a replacement. Another day we started out late because it wouldn't start. This happened 2 other times. And did I mention, when it rained hard (which it did 2-3 days) ceiling of bus leaked on the side by the window soaking the seat! Oh, and the seats wouldn't hold an upright position and most of the tray tables were broken. What a disaster! We received no advanced information about LUXO, were given no instructions about what to expect one the the ferry (Moroccan customs on the ferry literally took 2 hours), what to expect when we got to the terminal (like to wait for a shuttle bus and there was no bus stop sign to wait). Did not receive name badges which would facilitate meeting the fellow members of our tour group. We will never travel with Julia or LUXOR again and I suggest you don't either.Show moreJulia Travel commented on this reviewThank you for your message. We regret the difficulties that occurred with the bus. Please understand that these types of incidents can happen. We take note of your comments regarding the food and hotels, and we will work to improve in the future. We... Show moreTrip date: March 2024
- Elizabeth· April 4th, 2024While I would absolutely recommend Morocco to any American, it is an amazing country! I would not recommend Julia Tours and their contractor LuxoTours; we had various issues, starting with the larger issue of the Marrakesh hotel (the longest stay) being a lower level then promised with really bad food, through us being put on a 15 person Spanish speaking tour when we specifically requested English speaking and the max was supposed to be 10. The tour guide was amazing but everything took twice as long as she had to repeat everything, first in Spanish and then in English. None of the other tour mates spoke English at all which made for a very lonely tour.Show moreJulia Travel commented on this reviewDear Elizabeth, First of all, we thank you for your comments as they always help us improve. We would like to inform you that you booked a bilingual tour (Spanish and English). At no point is a maximum of 10 passengers indicated for this tour. We are... Show moreTrip date: March 2024

- CMCarol· July 18th, 2019I think Soussi was fun, but he could have been a bit more interesting, telling us more histories and stories about Moroccan life. He tended to joke alot with the Spanish speakers, probably because there were so many compared to the English speakers who couldn't catch his jokes. (And jokes can't be translated into another language easily). He was very pleasant, but could have talked more in depth. The hotels were lacking in giving us opportunities to taste REAL local foods - I don't know why. This was a disappointment as my evening meals were already include in the tour. Why should I have to pay for local food tastings on a tour?? One local guide simply did not have the sensitivity or courtesy to honor those of us, namely myself, who could not keep up walking for one and one half hours without stopping!! This was in Marrakech and it really made my day difficult because I became so tired. The local tour guide in Fes was much more understanding and made a point to have stops (not walking; sitting opportunities). Local guides have a schedule/time line, I understand, but must cater to slower clients who can't walk non-stop!! The itinerary was great, alot to pack in the limited time of 6 days. I think the last day, day 7 was worthless in terms of experience, because it was just travel/expediting back to Spain. I wonder how much that would cost one for that transport as there was no 'guide', only expediter.Show moreTrip date: July 2019
- MRMohammad· September 5th, 2017Julia Travel we never got to interact with. However, Tour Radar and the staff at MundiMaroc Tour were extremely helpful and nice (specially Mr. Alami and his team in Marocco). Overall we had an amazing experience. You need to make sure that you have Mr. Alami (he is fluent in number of languages and he is content-full) as your tour guide for Marocco as we have heard other tour guides are not that great.Show moreTrip date: August 2017
