St. Ives was like the Jersey shore. Far too commercial. Would have preferred Port Wenn. Wonderful group of people. Guide was very good but walked too fast. - M· September 25th, 2019was a great tour except for the 4.5 hr delay on way to Bideford. We feel through no fault of our bus driver or guide, the switchback had caused at least 5 similar accidents this year. We waited 4.5 hours near the site during the late afternoon. The temperature began to drop and several of the elderly tourists were quite uncomfortable. A nearby rental cottage offered us some shelter which many took advantage. Our guide gave us water and distributed a couple of jackets. There seemed to be no emergency plan in place ie. school buses to transfer us to our next destination or a hotel or restaurant to await the recovery of the bus or whatever alternative. - JWJudi· August 22nd, 2019The only reason I didn’t give excellent overall was 3 of us were put in an Uber to be taken back to the Reception Centre ( an Uber who didn’t seem to know where to drop us - so we needed to trudge with our luggage a bit of a way ) and that made us feel a little flat as we started the tour at the Reception Centre and that’s why we booked a Hotel next door. We all were left feeling a little disappointed after a great tour. Helen’s knowledge was wonderful, seeing it was first trip to these areas I would have liked a few more areas and buildings pointed out especially as we travelled in built up areas.
