This tour was more than I could have hoped for. Although the northern lights weren’t their most vibrant, this tour had beautiful beaches with ice, a fun 4wd in snow out to an ice caves, humpback whales, the historical Wilderness Center, a spa, a horse farm and the most wonderful and thoughtful guide, Hjalti. Our group bonded well becoming friends. The accommodations were all lovely. This was a dream trip beyond compare.
- by Laurie BHad a wonderful time, Christoph our guide was wonderful with his stories and Iceland history. The Icelandic weather played with our emotions when it came to seeing the norther lights but thankfully we got to see them on our last night there. This is a place I plan on visiting again.

Active and was able to see many sites on the tour. Our guide Lana from insight was amazing.
- by Erika PumphreyWe really enjoyed 10 days and met very nice people in the tour group. This was our first rip to Iceland. We would like to come back again to visit missed places. Very good experiences to learn history, culture, and see people, unique landscape, powerful waterfalls, hot springs, even horses and sheep. Iceland is simply great nature.

Everything was arranged perfectly! From picking up the rental car, to the accomodations, to the itinerary. There was plenty of time between the suggested stops to explore any hikes or views we wanted to see. The suggested itinerary hit all the hot spots with lots of good suggestions for restaurants and alternate stops. It was well paced and so smooth. I can't imagine having to make arrangements for a different hotel every night or even when and where to stop. I thoroughly enjoyed this calm, relaxing vacation. The more I remember it the more I appreciate the calm journey that Marina travel planned for us. I can't imagine a better Iceland trip. Thank you Marina travel!
- by Katherine MatthewsThis tour was outstanding. Marina Travel catered to every need and request. They were proactive, informative, and very responsive. An incredible country, a once-in-a-llifetime experience, and great support from Marina Travel and Tour Radar

Troll Expeditions requested this review via emailing me at the beginning of the tour. They are a busy crew who have multiple tours on the go at any given time every day and operate from a warehouse in the port area of Reykjavik in Iceland. The experiences offered by Troll are impacted by Icelandic weather, keeping in mind they have hundreds of Icelandic words for their windy conditions! In fact four days of the tour was negatively impacted by the weather. Day 6, and the reason for this review, was cancelled completely and we simply spent the day driving to the next accommodation. Unfortunately Troll will only partially refund the whale watching tour despite the boat operator not requiring payment for their inability to provide the experience due to weather conditions. Furthermore requiring me to reach out through Tour Radar to procure the partial refund. In the past other tour operators I booked through Tour Radar have never even required me to ask for a refund-they simply provided it-but when I didn’t get any communication about the canceled aspect of the tour I emailed Troll Expeditions directly. On day 1 it rained all day and the wet weather gear I rented from Troll for my son was missing the rain hat aspect of the jacket, a functional rain jacket was provided the following day. Another day we rushed through the sights and changed accommodation to stay ahead of a typhoon which meant the following day we spent in the diamond beach car park in a vehicle that lacked charge ports and waited 4 hours for the ice-cave tour operator. The Northern light’s experience are self supplied via walking outside of your accommodation, finding some space that is not affected by town lighting, and looking up at the sky. There is a phone application you can download to be notified of potential Northern Light sightings. We swapped tour guides and some people for day 7 and day 8. Day 7 we had a puncture and the spare tire was flat which meant driving with it until the replacement tire could be obtained, by then it was snowing. Other people on the tour and myself had other interactions with Troll Expeditions customer service staff which don’t reflect well and I would have given this review 3 stars had their customer service and policy reflected a higher regard for us. Finally Iceland is extremely expensive place to eat-meals can cost well over $50 AUD even for soup!
- by naomi nationThe tour was excellent. The guide, John ( Ionut ) was awesome and took us to the most interesting places. He knew the business well and is a skilled driver. My only gripe is that the first two nights we stayed in a semi-decent hotel, apparently owned by Troll Expeditions. It was great that we had a bathroom in the room, but the rooms were small and poorly ventilated. Great location, though. All in all, I recommend this tour if you're an active person and able to hike a little bit. Make sure you take the extra activities package as they were extremely awesome!

Golden Circle Tour Day Kerið Crater was great even with some pretty foggy weather. Friðheimar Farm could be removed in my opinion as the limited daylight hours in December meant that once we finally arrived at Þingvellir National Park (4:30pm) it was pitch black and we couldn’t see or do anything. Throughout the day we also saw Gullfoss Waterfall (stunning and VERY windy) and Geysir Hot Springs (the main water blowhole explodes every 3-5mins). Overall the day was very good and our tour guide Zack was awesome but would’ve preferred a more exclusive itinerary to match up with the limited daylight hours. South Coast Tour Day This tour day was INCREDIBLE. My only feedback would be to start this day an hour earlier. The 9:30am pick up meant we didn’t get to the first place until 11:30am meaning we did lose a bit of daylight driving however our tour guide Addi was amazing and reshuffled the stops around so we did Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Reynisdrangar Cliffs, Vík Coastal Village, Sólheimajökull Glacier, Skógafoss Waterfall and Seljalandsfoss Waterfall in that order which meant we got to see everything before it got dark. 11/10 would recommend this day tour to anyone!! Northern Lights Tour Unfortunately for us, our Northern Lights Tour was cancelled twice due to bad weather. BusTravel’s was very accommodating in rescheduling us for both nights and then a third night. Although the tour did go ahead on the third night we unfortunately didn’t see any light activity. We would love to commend our tour guide Karlo as he did everything he could to hunt the lights for us. Logistics The pick up points everyday were very organised (ours was bus stop 6) and the driver called our name out when the bus arrived so you were never wondering am I on the right bus. There were plenty of toilets throughout each day tour and plenty of stops to buy food and souvenirs. The buses also have USB charging points. Make sure to rug up if you’re in December and expect to get wet as Iceland weather changes quickly! One minute it was sun and then next to was hailing. Overall we loved our time on these tours as you can see in the photos.
- by Adelaide MatinWe took the 1 day small bus trip to the golden circle and blue . We were promised a tour that started at Thingvellir National Park and had an hour at Gullfoss. nstead we went in the opposite direction. We had less than half the time at Gullfoss and arrived at Thingvellir after sunset. We can never get the lost time at these areas back or see what we missed. There were specific things I wanted to see that we could not do. Our tour was to end at the Blue Lagoon. That changed when the volcano erupted. The company obviously could not control that, but they could control the route they took and ensured we would see the areas they promised. It did not help that help that the feeder buses from downtown Reykjavik were late, the tour driver missed a turn on route, and some passengers were late at two stops. But we never would have signed up for a tour that did not first stop at the listed locations. The company unilaterally switched us to the Secret Lagoon. The pools in Reykjavik were better and it took up hours in the middle of the short day. The Golden Circle is amazing. I am sorry I entrusted our tour to this company.

For technically only 3 days of tour activities, we were able to see and experience many different things. Funny and knowledgable tour guide.

We just returned from Nov 21-25 tour. Our guide Andri was excellent. He told us about his ancestors and history of his beloved country. He seems like in an industry that he really enjoys and it shows. The tour was at a good pace. You get enough time to take pictures and explore the sights. The only thing that I will change was the accommodation at Hotel Cabin. We got there at 9 am but the check in is at 3 pm. They didn’t give an option of checking in early so we explored the city on an hour sleep. Breakfast was okay. There is a food court closeby though called Borg29 mathöll and offers variety of delicious food. Technically speaking the tour is only 3 days long. The 2 days were your travel days to the airport. All in all, it was worth it.
- by Cara Kristine MapanaoWell organized, good pace of travel. The guide was very experienced and knowledgeable, with great stories to tell. Disappointed as we never saw the northern lights as we weren’t woken up as promised when they appeared.

We had a wonderful time in Iceland and are returning to Germany with many unforgettable moments. The itinerary was very well prepared, the hotels were great and the service from the journaway team was outstanding. We felt very comfortable all round. We would love to come back. Wolfgang and Anne
- by Wolfgang Erich HeinDie Buchung hat problemlos geklappt und bei Rückfragen wurde immer geholfen. Auch vor Ort war journaway immer erreichbar. Die nächste Reise haben wir bereits im Visier.
