I can’t recommend this tour enough! It was an excellent way to see the amalfi coast and was an excellent value. They offer add-on experiences which allows you to tailor your trip to your desires and your budget. The Italy on a Budget staff was very friendly and had great communication leading up to the trip. Our trip leader, Giovanni, was absolutely amazing!! Knowledgeable, kind, funny, a true gem. He taught us so much about the area and helped us feel like we were part of the community. Giovanni was an excellent ambassador, helping to introduce us to the area and his genuine connection with members of the community made us feel like were being welcomed as family rather than tourists. Giovanni also knew about some beautiful spots off the beaten track that made the experience even more rich. Giovanni is an absolute treasure! His kind spirit, knowledge, and connection with the community made this an experience that I will always remember.
- by brett dennis-dukeHighly recommend this tour. From booking to travellings it, Italy on a budget was excellent. Our accommodations, tours and communication was wonderful. From the office to the tour guides They went above and beyond. Although our tour officially started Naples...Italy on a budget arranged for tours in Rome.

Terrific group, great itinerary. Guide was knowledgeable but behaved very inappropriately towards a single woman in our group. There was no provocation from her. It made us all uncomfortable and I’m sure ruined her trip. He singled her out incessantly and it was clear had a romantic intrrest in her. Not acceptable from a guide.
- by Lynda EdwardsPaolo was a wonderful guide. He was knowledgeable about the region and each daily hike went off without a hitch because of his leadership. The hikes were challenging and the views were spectacular. I wasn’t ready for the hordes of tourists in Amalfi and Positano. It bordered on the absurd. Fortunately, the trails were quiet. Bomerano was also tourist free and served as a nice base for our daily outings.

Excellent quality accommodation,Mostly excellent driver and travel staff help, but one very delayed and confused pick-up for our boat trip at Sorrento. Our Boat trip and crew were brilliant for the trip to Capri.
- by Gavin ReedAlthough there were multiple changes to the itinerary, what we ended up with was very good. It was disappointing not to be able to do the boat tour to Cypress but that was due to weather issues.

Amazing quaint family owned accommodation, delicious meals, tranquil views. Comfortable unique rooms, areas to snuggle in and read a book. Phenomenal access to Capri and Sorrento. My only suggestion include transportation Island of Capri and other activities following the end of the path of Gods hike; it was annoying that we were constantly asked to contribute another 10 euro for transportation I otherwise would have brought more cash rather than seeking out ATM's. The initial tour in Naples was in my opinion not well curated, the market was terrible, would have preferred the charming street we discovered on route back to the hotel. Our Pompeii guide Amazing and well worth the stop.
- by Donna ParadowskiA great range of activities and local living made it a very relaxing experience. Enjoyed the hospitality of our host family and the shared meals each night.

Overall, it was a very good trip, bordering excellent. First with the excellent aspects. The hotel in Sorrento, Grand Hotel Vesuvio, was first class and included very good breakfast and dinner meals. The view and pool were also great and top notch. Though it was a drive up the hill, it was worth it. The guides in Pompeii and Capri were also very good, offering much information. Always feel that the most information is the best, so I understand what I'm looking at. The drives between Rome, Naples and Sorrento could have used a little more guide chat, but what was provided was interesting. Would have liked to learn a little more about Sorrento, in my case the Allied battles there, and anything that had to do with its history. Know the Greeks and Romans were there, and could see defenses against Turkish or North African pirates, but heard no discussion of that. I have to commend Eloisa at Gray Line/I Love Rome/Cassini Tours for being very flexible with my trip and allowing me to rejoin the tour back up to Rome, after spending 2 extra days in Sorrento on my own. Much thanks.

A couple of weeks before our trip, we received an email changing our hotel accommodations, with no explanation. On arrival at each hotel, we found that 3 out of the 4 hotels were not centrally located so we spent a lot of our time in each city figuring out how to take transit to each hotel and to all the main city sights. We did not travel to Italy to see the suburbs! Our excursions, booked ahead through Viator, were all very good but were centrally located so lengthy transit was always needed. During the Amalfi Coast tour, we heard from others on the same Wingbuddy tour that they had stayed in hotels that were closer to city centres. This made us feel like second class citizens, even though we must have paid the same amount as everyone else for this Italy tour.
- by Jeanette JungOur departure flights were completely botched and Wingbuddy did not provide the best alternative flights for the customer, instead re-routed our travel to Italy through the US adding an extra flight and decreasing our time in Venice by over 4 hours. A tour rep did not greet us at the airport in Venice and we had to take a taxi to our hotel on our own. All hotels in the package were not in good locations for exploring the cities on our own, and did not meet our expectations of the star rating provided for each hotel. except the hotel in Sorrento (Michelangelo). We would not recommend Wingbuddy based on our experience with your customer service before and during the trip and the overal quality of the hotels/meals included.

My family and I booked this tour expecting to have all-around transportation and clear communication, this tour did just about the opposite. First off, due to my family being 6 people, we had private rides the whole time, which was nice. The hotel in Rome was beautiful, but it mentioned that the hotels were in the heart of Rome, which they were not. The hotel staff at the Rome hotel were very accommodating and friendly, but, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and all the shopping were a 30-minute walk, and the Colosseum was a 40-minute walk. We were closest to the Vatican, which leads me to my next point. The day we had the tour of the Vatican, it said on our vouches that we had to promptly be in the lobby by 1:30. We did not get picked up until 2 pm, maybe even a little later than that, and there is no one you can reach out to or anyone communicating with you at all. The tour of the Vatican was very informative and enjoyable. We had the Colosseum tour in Rome as well, and the meeting point was at the Colosseum. They provided no transportation to get there, and it was a 40-minute walk! Once again, the Colosseum tour itself was very informative and enjoyable as well. Next, our train from Rome to Sorrento went very smoothly, and the driver picked us up on time. Following our train ride, once again we had a great driver & a stop in Pompeii, tickets to explore the ruins were not included. We arrived at our hotel in "Sorrento," which was actually in Vico Equense. It says Sorrento & the Amalfi Coast, yet we were a 25-minute drive to Sorrento and across the coast from Amalfi. The hotel in Vico Equense was beautiful, but the people were rude and not accommodating at all. The hotel is on top of a hill, and it is difficult to get anywhere and very difficult to get a taxi, and they were a complete rip-off. We had an 8-hour driving tour of the Amalfi Coast, and the tour coordinator texted me the night before with the voucher. We noticed the night before that the meeting spot was a 30-minute drive! I asked her if she could accommodate a ride,, and she said it was "too late," just to find out from our driver that he had to pass our hotel anyway to get to the meeting spot! The airport transfer was arranged by the tour company in advance and worked out great. To sum up the positives, the hotels were beautiful, the tours were very informative, and the transportation, for the most part, was very nice. To sum up the negatives, the tour company had no form of communication at all! There was no direct person you could message or call at any point, and prior to the start of the tour, all they gave you were vouchers for each tour, hotel, and transportation, with very little information. The hotels were in inconsiderate locations, which caused you to spend a lot of extra money on unnecessary transportation. The way this tour is advertised is misleading and was a complete rip-off for what the outcome was. To add, $2,000 per PERSON for this. My family and I are completely unsatisfied, we will not be using this tour company again!
- by Alexa ForbesThe tour seemed great on paper, but the way it was executed was not the best for the price. Both hotels in Rome and “Sorrento” were visually nice which had to be the highlight. Except, it was advertised that the hotel was in Sorrento but it was really in Vico Equense which was 30 minutes away from Sorrento where all the sights and things to do were. In order to get to the center of town or where we were placed we had to climb these steep hills up and down. It was impossible to get transportation. They should have told us that we were not directly staying in Sorrento from the beginning. Also for our 8 hour tour of the coast, the meeting spot was 30 minutes away from the hotel and there was no transportation from the hotel to it and we had to pay 125 euros. Just to find out that the driver picking us up at the meeting spot was passing where we were located in the first place. Overall the tour did not have one go to person to ask questions to or give us information! We didn’t know what to do when we were at the meeting spot to get picked up for the Vatican tour and no one arrived to get us. It turned out our vouchers had the wrong time and we were waiting 20-30 minutes wondering if they were ever coming. Our location of our Rome hotel was not ideal as it was about a 30 minute walk to where everything was to see and explore. When meeting for the colosseum tour there was also no transportation so we had to pay out of pocket to get there. Overall it seemed a bit disorganized.

Hotels in Naples and Sorrento were nice. Loved having punctual private drivers. Not a fan of hotel in Atani which had 77 stairs to climb each time you went to square and there was little to do jearby.
- by Deborah Ann KluskaThe was a great way to travel and see the Amalfi coast - the transport and hotels were all planned for you, eliminated a lot of stress. The dinner options provided at the hotel restaurant was not great so we opted to eat out. The breakfast options were wonderful. The TourRadar company is a 3rd party company and not who is actually doing the transports - there was some confusion on that part however TourRadar was great to work it all out and were very prompt on their responses.

The instructions at each stop or the guide we were supposed to meet did not give hardly any instructions , ie: the tour of Capri was missed totally because we didn't know where to meet ??? It would be very helpful to get a detailed written agenda ! Have your people in a logoed shirt ! Have your people meet us with a sign , ie: Capri tour !
- by Michael NadonEvery single guide on this tour was very, very good. Alessia for Capri and the archeology professor who guided us through Pompeii were truly outstanding! The hotel in Sorrento was good but not great. Very nice pool and staff but difficult to find one’s way around without better signage. Meals were ok to good. I wish I had known the likelihood of seeing the blue grotto was fairly slim due to sea height variability before I went. Then I might not have been as disappointed as I was that it was closed. Still the boat ride on Capri was good and Alessia did her best to show us small samples of water that was like the water in the grotto.

A great week of hiking along the gorgeous Almalfi Coast! A fantastic week with a great tour leader with a fun group. Spent the week forming a real bond with a small group of 14 adventurous hikers. Our final hike "The Path of the Gods" lived up to its billing as one of the most incredible hikes you can take. Thoroughly enjoyed our first Explore small group tour and hope to do another in the future.
- by Eric MachatThe hiking experience itself was very good. Nigel of Explore! was an excellent and knowledgeable guide, managing every detail with care and creating a welcoming and positive tone for the group. The accommodations were basic and comfortable, a bit chilly. However, I would not recommend the farm accommodation as the food was limited to mostly carbs (pasta and bread) with negligible vegetables and fruit (apples only) or variety of foods. Not the level of nutrition I expect for a booking of this type and cost.

While we were extremely pleased with the daily tour offerings (we have already completed very favourable reviews for the World Tours day trips) and the location of our accommodation, we wish to alert future travellers about two issues with the accommodation. Firstly, our accommodation was very basically furnished and a couch and mini-fridge would have been helpful. Secondly, there was an infestation of winged insects that appeared to come from the drains in the bathroom. Over our 4 night stay we killed, on average, 12 per day - despite being out for most of every day. Our biggest dissatisfaction, however, was with Campania Overland’s staff who immediately became defensive and attacked us when we made an innocent inquiry about breakfast. Campania Overland (CO) chose an accommodation which serves breakfast from 8:30 to 10:00 and advertised 4 breakfasts included in the package. However, for 3 of our 4 mornings we were instructed to be at a tour pick-up location prior to 8:10, so we missed 3 breakfasts due to Campania Overland’s scheduling and misaligned selection of accommodation. Most grievous was their complete unwillingness to accept any responsibility or to resolve the problem. We posed several polite requests which were met with snarky, aggressive responses that dumped the matter in our laps. We were made to feel that it was our fault that we weren’t getting breakfast although we had been bounced back and forth between the hotel and CO and had done whatever we had been instructed to do to resolve this issue. Bottom line: Campania Overland appear not to do adequate research in order to align scheduling nor do they stand behind what they promise to deliver. Note: Eventually, they did reimburse us $22 CAN for 3 breakfasts for two people, which was communicated to us in a curt, unapologetic message.

The STM team is excellent. They are flexible, very organized, constantly in contact with you via WhatsApp and best, they promptly respond. Impressed with their service. Once I booked, they promptly sent itinerary, hotel details, transfer info and daily tour details. Received details about driver pick up and then day before, each day, they AGAIN sent next day’s tour info including where to meet, tour company name so I did not have to look for details on my own. STM kept me organized and focused on enjoying my experience! I needed to cut my travel by one day. They gave me price for $100 less without asking and adjusted itinerary accordingly including pickup and drop off. Loved staying in one hotel for 3 nites. Felt rested. Loved that the 3 tours left from same place each day, 3 minutes walking distance. Hotel Vergilius Billia is excellent. Good breakfast. Excellent service overall. Capri tour operator organized. Good boat tour and ferry. Pompeii and Vesuvius tour same day tour was good also. Just take jacket for Vesuvius. Tour company Used headphones so could hear guide at Pompeii well. Tour for Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Ravelo was good with short time in each area to explore on own. Lot of usual traffic but seems compared to summer this was ‘light’. All 3 days were well organized and really worthwhile. Got a wonderful taste of area around Naples - fell in love with Capri, Positano etc and would love to come back. Thank you STM!

Our small group has a wonderful time. Everyday was a challenge but very satisfying. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. Excellent guide and a wonderful experience overall.
- by Elizabeth TeevanGreat! Gaetano was an excellent tour guide . He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the areas we visited and was able to provide us with a true southern Italy experience. We would recommend this particular tour to anyone and will probably do it again.
