My only issue was with the airport pick up But I want to make sure you know that our guide was spectacular and I dont believe he has anything to do with the airport pick up issue.
- by Elsa LynneRenixPositive: great tour guides, perfect sites to see, good food, nice hotels Cons: not enough time to see certain sites. Was hard to have English and Spanish mix together

I had some issues with Soukou, Washington hotel. The customer service was not very satisfactory and then I had some slight issues with Hotel Park Kyoto delivery service for luggage. That was a terrible experience because I was supposed to fly out that same day, but other than that that I went on the bed, the accommodations were very well taken care of and you know 10 out of 10 I would recommend to friends
- by Kaprice JonesThe tour was a great way to experience Japan and get an overall impression. At first, the trip was daunting, but the company made it simple by arranging it, buyng the tickets and booking guides. Obviously, one can do this oneself, but you need time and prior knowledge. The next time I visit I will do it myself. The guides provided were excellent and this was a highlight of the trip, each one was different and highly knowledgeable, and they provided a good commentary on Japan. there were some hiccups and things weren't properly explained. It needs to be clearly understood where you will meet the guide. Please mention that everywhere you go there are rental lockers to store luggage so you can see the sites without having to drag your suitcases around. Check the location of hotels in relation to the day's journey, so that a long train ride after the monkey visit is not needed. All these hiccups were sorted by the staff at headquarters, so the customer service at that end was also good.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Just needed more hill climbing training. Being on the older side of things I would have been better off using an e bike but find they are too bulky. I preferred the lighter non electric bikes for maneuvering.
- by Carol Ann BraunVery disappointing and I wished I had read more reviews prior to booking - leader did not speak English well, did not know public transportation system, left people behind, missed some locations on itinerary, no information provided on Japan, and no attention to the health and well being of the group. Please be careful when choosing this tour company.

Pretty dreadful. Shambolic, run by children. Dreadful approach to guests with allergies. Really really poor living conditions - I knew it would be a tent but they shouldn't be full of bugs, not cleaned from the prior guests, and leaking / caving in! Any food you bring will get eaten and covered in bugs too - there's nowhere to store anything. It's all unclean. My worst experience in over two months in Japan. The volunteering is a waste of everyone's time too - you don't actually do anything remotely worthwhile for the community.
- by Charlie BeesonWorld Unite Japan is an amazing organization! I had a truly wonderful, enriching, and meaningful experience. Our leaders, Summer and Hitoki, were outstanding. They created an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere and arranged volunteer projects that immersed us in the culture and ecosystems of Sado Island. I will always remember the friendships I made with our leaders and other volunteers. This was an life-changing experience. I highly recommend it! Lesa

The itinerary provided a very wide and varied taste of Japanese culture. The tour guide was personable and excellent.
- by Vivian Brady JonesTour itself was quite good but Trafalgar's communication is extremely slow and definitely sub standard. Also lied about final destination; it was Kyoto NOT Osaka as advertised. They also are way too slow at providing a proper itinerary, we missed out on Imperial Palace in Tokyo because they didn't know the opening tines

A good tour. I understand that using public transport is part of the experience but on occasion I think it would have been more efficient to use a coach
- by Sheila McCarthyAs extensive correspondence with the tour company has stated we felt that the tour offered VERY poor value for money. The high cost was not reflected in the standard of accomodation, all entrance fees were excluded and there were very few meals included. The tour company's response was that they had high overheads reflecting back of house expenses eg training, quality control etc Also they failed to pick up at the incoming airport as promised, stating we were ''coming in early' despite the fact that flight arrangement were always the customers ' responsibility. The guide was quite good but we would never use this company again. Feel ripped offf.

Had an overall great time with the tour! The itinerary is pretty laid-back and was tailored for our group interests, and the people were all very fun to hang with! Would definitely take some time after the tour to explore outside of the Tokyo area, but this is a great launch pad if you want to learn the ropes of navigating the island without too much stress.
- by Vadim KudlayThis has been such an experience, I will never forget my time in NY. The tour guide, Lloyd, was the best, he showed us the best places to eat and took us to the most beautiful temples and historical spots, which he knew the history of so well. I feel like not only I visited and experienced Japan in a special way, I learned so much from Japan's culture and lifestyle in a way I never would have learned if I went on a different tour.

Onsen bathing, Japanese cuisine, "bullet" train, freewheel cycling 40+ mph downhill, Kyoto tower, Tokyo tower, night time pedestrian "scramble" crossing amidst Tokyo light show, Kyoto sightseeing by bike, cycling Noto peninsula Sojiji warrier Zen buddist temple and gardens, traditional Japanese ryoken guesthouses, but only if single occupancy, which fortunately we did have on this trip.cycling through some longggg tunnels, meal at Toyoto Shirakawa GoEco institute, where we complimented the chef for his delicious food, final ride and visit to Shirkawa village-go, and Gokayama, river cruise and walk through Hama-rikuy gardens. So many wonderful memories and experiences of meeting very friendly Japanese people in country and city areas.
- by JohnThe last day of cycling was particularly beautiful compared with what had come before. I loved the immersion into Japanese culture with the food, onsens and wearing yukatas to dinner!

We were 3 friends booked this as part of a longer trip and this was one of the best highlights of our trip. Two thumbs up!
- by Frank SalamiGreat freedom and flexibility which is the perfect way to explore Hakone. The accommodation was very close to the sites, was comfortable, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. We basically got a pass from bamba that allowed us to explore all sites around Hakone. Between our friends, people we met while in Tokyo, the hotel reception and bamba recommendations we had plenty to do and visit. This is a self-guided trip, so if you want to be able to do what you want when you want then this is the product for you. We did not have the luxury of time to shop around and try to figure out what entrances to by and which sites to see. The pass included in this itinerary was exactly what we needed. I felt the trip was of great value, there are definitely better, much more expensive hotels, and like everywhere people trying to sell you experiences on the cheap.
