I highly recommend this tour! It was so much fun and truly comprehensive. Some days were intense, but I loved getting to see so many fabulous places. If you’re planning to visit Australia, this tour is ideal! I was initially concerned about the group’s age range, but everyone was close to my age (approx 26-32), which made the experience even more enjoyable. Our CEO, Lauren, was outstanding—incredibly kind and helpful, which enhanced the trip. As for accommodations, only two hostels didn’t quite meet my expectations, but we notified the company, so I’m hopeful they’ll address this for future tours.
- by Cristina Calvo FernándezFor the price and the time we had, this tour was hands down the best choice! The group was fun and very welcoming, but I want to shout-out Lauren, our guide. She wasn’t just incredibly knowledgeable and organized; she felt more like a close friend who made every moment special. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better tour!

Have had better experience trekking other places. Guide was ok and not excellent
- by Anna YeowEoin is a terrific guide, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Goes beyond just informing us. Great accommodations, especially loved the Beachfront Motel in Byron Bay. Our indigenous guide was sincere in his love for the land and heritage. It was a wonderful trip.

The best experience of my life. This was my first tour I had ever done and it certainly will not be my last with the ultimate company. I had Sam P as my tour leader, he made the whole experience so easy and I felt relaxed the whole time. Not only did he excel at the expectations of his job but he also became a friend during this time. He looked after all of us from the moment we met until when we said our goodbyes. He made this tour group into a family and created memories for all of us that I’m sure we will carry with us forever. Of course there were some incidents, that were no fault of Sam’s including delayed grey hounds. One in particular causing people who were participating in the scenic flight Overall, the tour was a success in every
Tour guide was great the whole trip really put a lot of effort in to make sure everything was sorted and everyone was having a great time throughout the trip. I think the itinerary could do with a few more free days earlier on in the trip and would’ve liked to swap 2/4 days in cairns to stop off at noosa. Overall I loved the tour and would 100% recommended it to any traveller. As it was my first time on a tour like this I really appreciate that sam (tour guide) made me feel safe and secure the whole trip allowing me to relax and enjoy the whole experience.

I joined this tour in Brisbane and thoroughly enjoyed it. My fellow travellers were a fabulous mix of nationalities and we gelled together well. The trip included great beaches, amazing snorkeling, and natural wonders together with a friendly , fun guide Justin who made sure we were informed and supported. Definitely book with Viatravel for a great tour.
- by Janet ConnaughtonI actually only did the Brisbane to cairns portion of this tour, but had others in our group who completed the entire thing. They pack so much fun times into for my group only a week, but I never felt rushed at any of the locations. They always gave us ample time to see everything and enjoy the sites. From Fraser Island, to the Whitsundays, the Atherton Tablelands, and a day on the Great Barrier Reef. As a small group tour your able to get close knit with everyone and meet many people from all around the world. Our tour guide Justin was amazing, so informative, full of energy, and one of the best tour guides making sure everyone had the best time. I’m fact one day we were supposed to be having a long driving day, and our bus broke, we waited at the hotel for some time, but Justin problem solved until he was able to find us another form of transportation. The included meals were great, and the locations Justin picked to give us as an option for dinners on our first night somewhere was always great food. I would highly recommend Via Travel to anyone, especially if you get Justin as a guide.

During this tour you get to see (what I think) anything you could expect seeing throughout the East Coast of AUS. When it comes to wildlife we just saw it all if you ask me! Except the whale and Cassowary, but ofcourse you always have to have a bit of luck for wild life spotting. What we did see for example: many wallabies, kangaroos, koalas, dolphins, crocodiles, sharks, pythons, many cockatoos, spiders, dingos, turtles, many different fish and way too many Kookaburras :P Besides wildlife (my personal favorite reason to visit the eastern Australian coastline) we also saw beautiful nature. The more you come northwards, the more varied nature becomes. In the southern part of our trip we saw lots of (pine) trees, but further north it became more varied with deciduous trees, rolling landscapes and nice mountain and agricultural landscapes. To experience the complete Aussie way of living, we stayed in different hostels varying in luxury from basic to a nice private swimming pool included. And the best experience I got on K'gari Island where we stayed in beach cabins at the Eco Retreat Resort and drove with 4WD's al along the isle to explore the most beautiful lakes as wondering around in paradise! The stay in the Surfside Hostel in Port Stephens felt like being one with nature! Not to forget our 2 nights stay on a sailing yacht at open sea around the beautiful Whitsunday Islands! What a magical experience was that! During the complete trip we were served with breakfast almost every day and even dinner was included for some like 14 days! Sometimes even prepared by our own tourguides themselves, wonderful experience, the real Aussie way! During the driving from one to another place we got all the info needed about our next destination combined with the possible optional activities to book. Wonderful and spontaneous brought by our tour guide/driver. Altogether I can only say one thing about this tour: this was one of the most exciting and wonderful trips I ever made! Ofcourse it's a bit dependent on the travel group you will walk in, but I really had the best travel partners I could ever have wished accompanying me during this trip ;)
- by Pieter van DongenThe tour was very well organized and the activities were great. Our guide did an amazing job!! She was always there for us and had so many stories to tell.

This past week with Mojosurf on the 7 Day Living the Dream Surf Adventure has been absolutely incredible. To start, the 9 hour train from Sydney to Spot X was a bit long (especially without charging ports on it or anything, be prepared and bring snacks!), but after arriving at camp I knew immediately that it was worth the wait. The accommodation is basic but beachside and gorgeous, and all close enough to feel like a big family. I was definitely impressed with the food, as we weren't limited to small portions at all and it was delish (everybody needed some good hearty grub after being out surfing all day so it was very appreciated). Overall, there was such a friendly and happy vibe around the place. It was easy to get settled in and meet people as everybody, short-termers and long-termers, mingled and were all just happy to be there together. I definitely have to mention how great my guide Bruno was - the guy is hilarious and was very welcoming, great to get us settled, and willing to help with anything we needed for the duration of our time there (while also being a great guy all around!). Continuing on to the Arts Factory in Byron, the place lives up to its expectation, definitely on the hippy side of things, but still good fun. It was definitely nice to go out for dinner together in the evenings, and good to have food included in the morning and for lunch. In terms of the actual surfing, I can definitely say that the lessons were helpful and good fun. The setup of lessons at Spot X was so smooth, surfing twice a day was easy as you were right next to the boards and beach. The lessons were genuinely quite helpful and informative, and not just a supervised board rental, which was appreciated. There was a good ratio of instructors to participants so you did feel like you were getting constructive help as you weren't just a number in a crowd. This was a bit different when we moved up to Byron Bay, as the distance to the Mojo shop and beach meant you were gone from 12:30-5pm or so each day, and the groups were bigger, but still many instructors considering the group size so all was still well. One small suggestion would be to space out different levels more during lessons - not something we had an issue with at Spot X, but more of an issue at Byron, when those on their 5+ lesson were surfing with the beginners, who often were not used to giving space between boards and surfing etiquette, making it a bit frustrating for those of us who knew better and didn't want to run into anybody. For anybody considering this trip, definitely take the leap, as it's been so worth it to get involved in the surfing world and will make you much more confident to get out on the waves, while also having such a fun week and getting to meet some great people. One important thing to note - you will be exhausted, you'll probably have many bruises and injuries all over, and your muscles will constantly sore, BUT, it will be worth it, without a doubt!

The tour trails are not challenging and there seemed to be as lot of repeat scenery as that is Australia when you go out into the countryside. The guide was excellent as reading the day and making adjustments to suit the heat that came around 11.30am to 12pm. This meant we did a lot of driving to and from the trail to avoid the heat of the day. The guide was also good at adapting the tour to suit the level of the people on it. I would recommend this company as they do have great tours available.
