Dear David, Thanks for leaving a review and sharing your experience with us! We are glad that you enjoyed the Japan tour and especially the tour guide Ben;) It appears that the hotel we used for this tour is around 3.5 miles away from the Imperial Palace and 10 miles from the Shinjuku area. Tokyo is a mega city with many interesting places and attractions, including Disneyland. We consider the hotels based on its distance to various attractions, including the distance to the airports, and also on the availability of the hotel. Thanks for you suggestion. It makes a lot of sense getting to Japan prior to the tour and stay one day or two after the tour to explore the wonderful country;) Have a wonderful weekend! Anne
