  Our guide was excellent. Always friendly, approachable and very knowledgeable on local history in each location we visited. He went above and beyond to make the trip wonderful for everyone. I would definitely recommend him and Aitken Spence.

  Just home (we were a group of 4 friends, all girls in our mid-20s) from the most amazing 9 day trip organized perfectly by Atkien Spence Travel. Some of the highlights of the trip included amazing views in Sigiriya, a jeep safari (where we saw elephants and leopards) and visiting a turtle hatchery. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, and the people are so nice, but it was our tour guide, Kalana, who made the trip so memorable! We have made a friend for life and cannot recommend Kalana enough!

  Our tour group of 12 Australians were most fortunate to have Sam Samarakoon as our guide for our first SriLankan experience. His knowledge of sites visited , history, wild life, plant life, society, art and culture, as well as music and cricket was extraordinary. It enriched our whole experience , and ensured a very happy group dynamic for 12 of us who started as strangers and left as friends, including Sam. SriLanka is a beautiful country , and a feast for the senses. We were pleased we were able to support the SriLankan tourism industry, and the people who work within it. Kind Regards, Rod Miller.

  No doubt that the service from Aitken Spence and the people of Sri Lanka was immaculate, however the cost of the holiday was more than it should as there was heavy price discrimination between foreigners and locals and prices were all quoted in American dollars. The service you get may be worth the money, however this is not always the case with the quality of the product/experience. This is exacerbated by the fact that tipping is expected although 'official' payments already include goods and service tax. Nevertheless, this may be an 'issue' in the country in general and not specific to the tour. For the tour in particular, 80% of the hotels were 2.5 stars at most, as most would either have bed stains, moldy shower or broken facilities like unusable room phone. Breakfast menu was also limited with local foods not available although listed on the menu. At one hotel when I asked for a cup of coffee for breakfast they gave me a packet of instant coffee! Tour experiences were OK, but it wasn't anything that you can't go/arrange on your own. Complaints aside, my tour guide Chamith is the most charming man you can find in Sri Lanka. He was thoughtful and extremely considerate and had good knowledge of the area. Overall, I might go on another tour with Aitken Spence, but I would be extremely selected with the accommodation and activities. Thank you Aitken Spence for the unforgettable experience.

  A fantastic trip you could not want a better itinerary or service. We had a fantastic driver/ guide who was so knowledgeable on the culture, history and wild life of Sri Lanka.

  Asanka was a great tour guide! He was happy to stop wherever we wanted, provided a lot of information about the areas we were driving through and frequently pulled over to make sure we tried the roadside snacks. He went out of his way to organise somewhere for us to stay for an extra day as our flights were late in the evening after the tour had finished. The tour itself was great, we felt like we saw a lot of Sri Lanka in a short amount of time and got to see/do a lot of sites/major activities. A lot of driving was involved but this was quite relaxing and gave us plenty of time to take it all in. The hotels were mostly great, nice buffet breakfasts but some rooms were a little older (had what we needed though).
