Great tour guides and drivers knowledgeable and friendly. Perfect tour if you want to experience beauty of Iceland in a short time. Beggi, Anna and Atti are wonderful guides. Beggi’s brother who did the morning pickup was amazingly hilarious, throughly enjoyed the short run with him. Always on time for pickup.

We booked a SMALL group tour. Booking information confirmed that. We were crammed on a full sized tour bus. Had I wanted a full-sized tour bus, I would have booked that. I paid extra to have a small group experience. Because we were one of the last people to be crammed onto the bus (never mind we were early to be picked up - and pick-up bus showed up 45 minutes after time we were told to be there), my wife and I were unable to sit together. The incredibly large group made it difficult to truly enjoy the stops. We were rushed at nearly every stop, and with so many people, inevitably several people would be late getting back on the bus at every single stop, thereby cutting the experience times down at each location as the day went on. The only positives for the experience were the sights themselves. But, again, we had those cut short and couldn’t truly enjoy them. The tour guide told us to email the tour operator and “they will make it right.” Reaching out to the tour operator resulted in an offer of a $14 refund (on a trip that cost several hundred dollars) and a free tour of their office. I can see office space anywhere. Completely empty gesture. It is pretty clear that they overbooked the tour and just said the hell with it. They realize that the overwhelming majority of their customers can’t really do anything about a poor experience, so they don’t care. Look at at the booking company name before you book. If it is BusTravel Iceland, stay far, far away. DO NOT BOOK WITH BUSTRAVEL ICELAND. They will continue to operate like this until people stop giving them money.

What our customers ask about this tour

The content in our FAQ section is subject to change.
    • How should I prepare for potential changes in weather during our tour in Iceland?

Weather in Iceland can change quickly and is hard to predict. It's recommended to check updates regularly and prepare for varying conditions.

    • What type of transport is used for smaller group tours?

For smaller group tours, an 18/19 seater sprinter bus is typically used, allowing for a more personalized experience.

    • What is the guide to traveler ratio in tours?

Each tour is typically conducted with one guide for up to a maximum of 19 participants, ensuring personalized attention.

    • What is the typical duration of the daily tours?

Typically, the tour on Day 1 and Day 2 starts at 8:00 AM with durations being 7 and 10 hours respectively. Please confirm specific timings close to your planned dates.

    • Are there recommended dates for viewing the aurora?

The auroras can potentially be seen every night if weather conditions allow. However, predicting the weather in Iceland is challenging due to rapid changes.

    • What size are the tour buses used?

The tour operates with various sizes of buses. For most tours, comfortable buses with a capacity of 28 to 49 seats are used.

    • Does volcanic activity in Iceland impact our tour?

Current volcanic activities are confined to specific areas such as Reykjanes Peninsula and do not affect cities like Reykjavik or the Keflavik International Airport, thus not impacting most tour routes.

    • How can I reach the start of the tour from the airport?

You can get a transfer from Keflavik International Airport to Reykjavik, where the tour starts from Bus Stop #12 Hofdatorg unless another point is selected after booking.

    • Is seeing the aurora during the tour guaranteed?

It's never guaranteed to see the aurora, but tours are only conducted when there are good chances. If the aurora is not visible, you can reschedule for free or ask for a refund if the tour is canceled due to weather.
