- PPPaul· July 2nd, 2024Touring Bhutan with Bhutan Acorn was everything my wife and I wanted in this bucket list experience! Out guide Tashi was very knowledgeable and passionate about his country, culture, and religious/political histories of the country, which made every location much more enjoyable as an educational experience than just sight-seeing without the context. Our driver Sunam was also excellent, safe, funny, and generally pleasant to be around and have meaningful conversations with about Bhutan and life. This tour package was an excellent mix of visiting cultural sites, hiking, and a mix of hotels, a homestay, and camping at Bumdruk above Tiger's Nest! What a fun mix of education, beautiful vistas, wildlife, art, culture, and hiking/adventure! Bhutan is a beautiful and truly unique place in the world, and anyone who wants to visit as we did should highly consider this tour option and Bhutan Acorn if you're looking for a similar mix of experiences and memories.Show moreBhutan Acorn Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear Paul, thank you for booking with us and I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Bhutan. - Mia· June 10th, 2024Had an incredible journey exploring Bhutan’s beautiful culture and landscapes! Karma was very communicative and made the planning process seamless. My guide Norbu took so much time to make sure I was enjoying my trip, explained in thorough detail the history, religion, and culture of Bhutan. The Bumdra trek descending down to Tiger’s Nest monastery was incredibly beautiful. Overall perfectly planned trip thanks to Acorn. Loved the experience so much I decided to return for a trek with them!Show moreBhutan Acorn Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear Mia, I am so glad that you enjoyed your trip to Bhutan. - JJJohn· November 29th, 2023I thoroughly enjoyed my trip in Bhutan with Bhutan Acorn Tours. I only wish I had done the10 day trip to cover more territory. My guide, Tashi, was excellent. He has a good command of English and is very knowledgeable about Buddhism, which was one of my reasons for coming to Bhutan. Our driver, Sonam, was very responsible and managed the difficult winding roads with skill and without problems I always felt safe with the two of them. And the variety of sites visited and other activities kept the trip exciting. The hotels were all high quality. I highly recommend Acorn to anyone planning a trip to Bhutan. The company owner/manager was very responsive to my endless questions prior to arrival.Show moreBhutan Acorn Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear John, thank you for your review! - JJulie· September 22nd, 2023From the moment I reached out to Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel to inquire about a potential trip to Bhutan, Mr. Karma was extremely responsive, accommodating, and helpful. We had all sorts of information we needed to ensure our trip was successful. Once we arrived in Bhutan, we were greeted by our personal guide (Mr. Tashi) and our driver (Mr. Nidup). Both gentlemen were with us, and only us, for the duration of our trip. Both are extremely personable and knowledgeable. We learned so much and laughed a lot. Mr. Tashi always ensured every restaurant or host accommodated my lactose intolerance. They both ensured we always had enough to eat and drink throughout our visit and made us as comfortable as possible throughout. When an unexpected rainstorm hit us on our first day, Mr. Tashi recommended we change to a different hike/monastery since it would be less steep and muddy, which resulted in us getting an unexpected blessing/ritual bath from the lama (head monk) of the monastery. We saw so many amazing views and learned a ton about Buddhism and Bhutanese history and culture. We ended up changing our itinerary on the fly to exclude the Bumdrak Trek and camping for health reasons, which Mr. Tashi accommodated without complaint. We chose instead to trek up to Tiger's Nest and had the chance to meditate in one of the temple rooms for 30 minutes undisturbed. It allowed us to reflect on life’s journey that ultimately lead us here, the culmination of years of healing and personal growth. I'd highly recommend starting the trek early. We started around 6am and were pretty much the only people on the entire trek up. It made the trek so much more spiritual and personal for us. Mr. Tashi and Mr. Nidup provided us with their own personal trekking poles to use. Some tips when visiting Bhutan: pack toilet paper with you as many of the public and/or rural restrooms do not have toilet paper, have hand sanitizer available as many also do not have soap, and get into hiking shape to truly enjoy the experience. Bottom line...we absolutely loved Bhutan and plan to return. We would definitely go with Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel again and highly recommend you check them out too. Ask for Mr. Tashi and Mr. Nidup if possible!Show moreBhutan Acorn Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear Julie, Thank you so much for taking the time to give us an excellent review of your recent visit to Bhutan with us.
