  We had the pleasure of exploring Cairo and Giza with Bassam, our Egyptologist, and Yousry, our driver, and it was an unforgettable experience. They were punctual and at the start of the tour, we were greeted with bottled water and mango juice, a thoughtful touch that made us feel immediately at ease. We went to see the Giza Pyramids, Sakkara, and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Bassam’s extensive knowledge of Egypt’s ancient history was truly impressive, and he brought each site to life with captivating stories and detailed insights. Whether explaining the history of the pyramids or the intricacies of Egyptian art, Bassam’s expertise enriched our entire visit. Bassam’s warmth and friendliness made the experience even more enjoyable. He was always ready with a smile, answering our questions with patience and enthusiasm. His passion for his work was evident in every interaction, and we never felt rushed, always encouraged to take our time and ask questions. Yousry was also exceptional. After exploring a site, it’s nice to see his warm smile while waiting for us in the car. We highly recommend them to anyone visiting Egypt – their attention to detail and commitment to our comfort made all the difference.

  The overall tour was very good and the guides extremely knowledgeable. We were especially well looking after by Mahmoud in the Luxor-Answan leg. Of course the sights speak for themselves, spectacular. Accommodation was middling as was the catering. The hotel in Cairo was somewhat impersonal but the food was quite good. The boat provided buffets and not all the food seemed fresh, especially on the last couple of days of the cruise. If a young man asks to take your picture in the bar say no unless you are happy to pay $80 for some indifferent photos in a slightly tacky folder. Egypt Direct Tours could have warned us about that one, though we didn’t mind most of the attempts to separate us from our cash!

  We enjoyed our Egypt tour. Our guides, Mr Nasser in Cairo and Mr Omar in Luxor, Aswan, Edfu were very knowledgeable and explained Ancient Egyptian History. Our driver Mr Hasan in Cairo was good. Itinerary was good if you like to see and learn about ancient Egypt. Vegetarian Food on Nile river cruise was good. If you want to learn more about history of Egypt, reading little bit ahead of time on your own would help to grasp the information faster when guides are talking.

  The Premium Trip to discover Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel nine days was an overall good experience. Egypt is amazing and it is a trip you will never forget. It was well organized and Egypt Direct responded quickly to questions or issues that arose. Our tour guides were excellent and we learned a lot from them. They were all truly kind people. The cabin on the boat for the Nile cruise can be quite chilly in December, (as is Egypt in general in December) so come prepared with warm clothes. Request a cabin on an upper deck towards the center to be as far away as possible from the engines. The downtime sitting up on the deck watching the view was beautiful and much needed rest. The hotel Barcelo Cairo Pyramids was average in terms of comfort, location and newness. Don’t hesitate to ask for a better room if you don’t like the one you’re given. Expect several very early mornings and quite a bit of time spent in airports, cars, and buses traveling to the different sites. The drive to Abu Simbel starts very early in the morning and is four hours one way. It is neat to see, but worth eight hours in a bumpy bus? Not for us. The tour company was very good about making sure we had breakfast to go with our early starts and it was nice having several meals included. The hot air balloon is something you don’t want to miss! Overall, thumbs up for this trip!

  Enjoyed the tour. Omar was one of the best guides I’ve ever had. He did sucha great job with sharing information, setting pace, and just being an all around good person to be around. My driver, Yssery, was also excellent. Incrediblly friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed. Nasseer, my guide in Cairo, shared a lot of great information about the sites we visited. You could tell he studied and knows his stuff.

  Our guides, Nasser and Omar were great! Unfortunately, we paid $45 each for 3 tickets to the Civilization Museum in Cairo, thinking that was the Tut museum. It was not, it was an extra museum. We were very tired and asked if we could cancel the extra museum. First I was told we were outside of our cancellation time, so no refund. Then I was told that we Could get a refund. Nasser had the cash in his pocket to pay for our tickets. He has said he turned my refund request over to Tour Radar. I never heard back from anyone. Most of the museums were $8 to $12. We were charged $45 per ticket and I am still waiting for a response from anyone.
