- JMJennifer· July 19th, 2023We loved our trip and time in Egypt. We did have to put in a lot of work to find the type of accommodation both on the Nile Cruise and in Cairo that we felt reflected the five star and also had to pay for upgrading but we were happy we did as we loved where we stayed. We booked the Sonesta George Nile cruise it was fabulous from beginning to end highly recommend this cruise the staff are wonderful, spotlessly clean, great docking views, delicious food everything felt 5 star. Our guide Mansour greeted us on arrival in Luxor and took great care of us over the 5 days we were with him visiting the Temples along the Nile. He was great with our Kids and really helped them feel included and interested on the Temple visits and explained everything in a way that made it fun and informative for all of us. He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Egypt history and sharing it. We really enjoyed getting to know him, he went above and beyond to make our time special and we felt the pride and care he takes into his work as a travel guide He gave 100% of his attention to the tour and his guests, we appreciated this immensely. We all feel we now have a friend for life with Mansour. Our time in Hurghada was fun and relaxing we stayed at the Continental Hotel it was very clean, the staff were great and the food and entertainment options were good. Only downside was the extra snorkel tour we chose it was awful. Being trapped on a boat with everyone smoking the snorkel part was very rushed and really the day was set up to try and make you purchase the photos they are taking. I would suggest that Vacations to Go get to know the boat companies and work with some that offer a better experience. Amr our local rep did take care of it after and took my feedback seriously which was appreciated. He was very responsive if we needed anything or had questions. For our Cairo visit we stayed at the Mena House with the best view of the Pyramids we loved it and as we found everywhere in Egypt we were warmly welcomed and treated wonderfully. 2 days to explore Cairo feels very rushed but luckily we had time on our last morning before the flight to return back to the Pyramids by ourselves for more time to wander and also climb into the Great Pyramid amazing! Bassem was our Cairo guide he is a very knowledgable Egyptologist it was nice to get his perspective on the wonderful places we visited during our time. Michael took care of our itinerary in Cairo it was fun to get to know him better on the last day and we appreciated he took the time to guide us back to the airport and spend time chatting with us. Overall this was an exceptional experience Vacations to Go is very organized I just recommend if you are like me and appreciate the best accommodations research in advance and try and book the best options provided well in advance.Show moreTrip date: July 2023

- SRSoumaya· September 23rd, 2022Great holiday, activities well organised and the guides and the agency organisers were lovely. My special time was with guide Sara in Cairo, she is a credit to the agency🥰 A little disappointed with the hotel choice in Hurgada. I was looking forward to a quiet place to rest toward the end of my holiday. Mercure Hotel is for families. But overall, it was a great holiday, many thanks to everyone xShow moreTrip date: August 2022
- DTDina· September 5th, 2021Egypt was beautiful. The hotels that the company picked were very nice and the resort was family friendly. The cruise down the Nile was beautiful however the food was not good. We all got sick to our stomachs all six of us. I found there was a huge cultural differences that the tour guide did not help us navigate. I should have not booked the night train to Aswan. The tour company should have advised me to not travel this way with children. Train was extremely dirty and uncomfortable. I wish I was advised better. I found myself feeling defensive and at one point attempted to voice those concerns to the tour guide. The entire trip our group felt extorted for additional tips and money. The tour guide in Aswan did a great job and tried hard to make the trip better. Toward the end of the trip the following tour guide in Cairo insisted that we owed an additional $40 for them taking us to the hospital to receive our Covid test. That this additional fee was not included on our 14 day tour. I address the fact that I felt like this was extremely underhanded and disgusting I was not satisfied with this situation. Later that evening he came back and said that this was no longer going to be an issue and that I didn’t have to pay the additional $40 to transfer us to the hospital. My understanding was that we were responsible for paying for the Covid test however, the tour company would take us or ensure that we received the Covid test to get home. The entire trip I felt as if the tour guides were making side deals to ensure that they were making commissions off of any tips or anything that we purchased. Like I said the country is beautiful but we were extremely extorted at every tour site and at every single opportunity. My advice to anyone seeking to take this tour is to read your itinerary carefully ensure all your entrance fee or tips are included in your tour package. Please carry a roll of toilet paper with you. You will find it is not always provided. You must pay for all rest rooms. I know in some places in Europe this is a thing but for all American this was new. We relied on our tour guides to guide us through verbally and this was not a good idea. I felt let down with the service Vacations To Go Travel provided and I felt extorted . I will not be returning to Egypt. As for Tourradar they were extremely helpful when booking the trip. They book the trip with a subcontractor called Vacations to go Travel based in Egypt. We are now safe and at home but it was a high price to pay for the type of service we received.Show moreVacations to go travel commented on this reviewHi Dina Thanks for your review “We are sorry that your experience at our Company didn’t quite match your expectations. - KLKaren· January 28th, 2021What can I say about our experience other than it was amazing! Michael, our transfer man, was fantastic at getting us everywhere on time. We NEVER had a worry about checking in to our hotels, train or cruise ship thanks to the Vacations To Go team. Our two tour guides, Tamir and Ibrahim, were beyond wonderful with their knowledge of the historical sites we saw and their hospitality in sharing their country's rich history. Our personal favorite experience was the Nile Cruise. The staff, accommodations and food made for a memorable experience. Combined with the amazing temples in Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan, the Nile Cruise is a memory we will always cherish. If there was a bleak spot in the trip, it would have to be our stay in Hurghada. The resort we stayed at was very run down, and with Covid-19 restrictions in place, the poor state of the resort was even more noticeable. It's website states that it is a four star resort. We later found out that this is the equivalent to a two star resort in the United States. We did however make our time in Hurghada worth while with our two snorkeling trips. We would highly recommend Vacations To Go and can't wait to book our next trip to Egypt!Show moreTrip date: January 2021

- Joseph· November 20th, 2019We are really happy with Vacations to Go (the local Cairo-based tour agency, not to be confused with the online VTG travel website based in Houston). Magdy, Michael and Tayb were excellent, took care of all our needs during our two-week Egypt tour. We expected to be part of a larger group but it ended up just the four of us -- myself, my wife and our two adult children -- that gave us tremendous flexibility. The itinerary was well put together, a fairly standard program to cover all the major sites in Egypt over a two-week period. November is the start of tourist season because temperatures are cooler. There were lots of other tour groups following the same or similar routes. The tour was great value and would have been difficult to arrange on our own. Things ran like clockwork; someone from VTG was there to greet us at every stop; all the cars, bookings, tour guides were arranged in advance with no worries for us. The tour did not include entry fees or tips, which probably added another 50 percent to the tour price, but still represented good value for the unique experience. We booked three optional add-on activities through VTG: (1) the sound and light show at the pyramids on the first night in Cairo (2) the road trip to Abu Simbel from Aswan, and (3) the sunrise balloon ride over Luxor and Valley of the Kings. Abu Simbel (near the Sudan border) was a long ride through the desert; we left at 330AM, about three and one-half hours by van each way with a couple hours at the site. We had to be back by early-afternoon because of the scheduled river boat departure. Glad we saw Abu Simbel but it was hot and dusty and made for a long day. The balloon ride over Luxor was absolutely spectacular, a highlight of the trip, highly recommended. The three-night Nile River cruise was pleasant, nice scenery and good food. Cairo is a big, dirty city, traffic is terrible, but you have to see the pyramids/Sphinx and the National Museum. Our guide, Waleed, was really excellent. The Red Sea beach resort in Hurghada was a nice break after the busy sightseeing schedule during the first nine days of the tour. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort on the beach and booked an all-day snorkeling trip on our own, great coral and tropical fish. We also did two full day trips on our own during free time in Cairo: (1) Wadi el-Hitan (the whale cemetery) in the desert southwest of Cairo, full of all sorts of fossilized bones, with lunch on Karun Lake, and (2) Alexandria. Both were worthwhile. It was not an easy trip, lots of long days, heat and dust, but glad we came. We saw the famous places we had always read about and seen pictures of. We came away with a much better understanding of the culture and history. Thank you Vacations to Go.Show moreTrip date: November 2019

- KTKaren Nicole· November 7th, 2019My mom and I had a wonderful time learning and exploring the Egyptian culture. We made new friends that at the end of the trip they turned out to be like family (including John). John was an AMAZING guide. He was incredibly smart, knowledgeable, patient, super nice and respectful, but specially, he had a very kind heart. We definitely want to go back, and would love for John to be our guide again! Highly recommend this tour!!!Show moreTrip date: October 2019
