  Had a great experience on tour with AJ on the Sydney week. Accommodation at the wakeup hostel was better than I expected as I was in a hostel for the first time. My flight was late and ultimate helped on the weekend change my shuttle time. I had a really great time

  It wasn't well organized. I booked the tour with Blue Mountains and Manley Beach but I didn't do any of it and I didn't get any information! What was also bad was that I was put in a different group because only 2 people had booked this tour and I only found out about it on the first day of the tour! So a lot more information beforehand would have been nice.

  Ashley was a wonderful tour guide! I really enjoyed the excursions and had a blast surfing, sandboarding, and playing with kangaroos :)

  I decided to do the Ultimate week in Sydney because it was the first time I would be traveling by myself. This way, I thought I'd be able to make loads of friends and travel buddies and after the Ultimate week, we'd have an opportunity to go on our own adventure. I sent many emails back and forth before booking the week, asking which time would be best to come, where I'd be in a group with people my age and at the time, the lovely lady I was emailing seemed convincing. However, once I arrived in Sydney I quickly came to realize I was the only one doing the "Ultimate Sydney and Bondi" tour, everyone else I was paired with was doing the "Ultimate East Coast and Sydney" 6 week tour. This meant I spent an entire week getting to know people that I would inevitably part ways with after the first week, leaving me exploring on my own which initially wasn't the plan at all. I tried expressing my concerns to Ben, our tour guide, however, he did not seem to understand the issue at hand. I wanted to meet people I could travel with and I had even expressed this in the emails I was sending Abbie prior to my trip. It was a bit upsetting, considering it would have been a simple thing to mention before I had booked the tour. The website even states: "Our tour definitely includes social aspects and will introduce you to plenty of other travelers...". My tour guide even told me I was the first person he had taken on the tour that was only joining for the first week. I did, however, talk to people I met along the way during my trip and they recommend doing the "8 Day Gap Year Package" instead, as there were many more people that had just planned on traveling. Apart from this, the intro week was decent, the day on the catamaran was lovely and I really enjoyed the surf lesson. Another thing to note is that some of the free meals and activities were included in the hostel already, such as the bar crawl. I'm not sure I would do this tour again unless I was certain I was going to meet new travel buddies! Definitely a nice idea to book something like this (perhaps Intro Travel has better options?) when solo traveling for the first time.
