  Firstly, the accommodation was great throughout the tour. Sadly, the ‘great’ stops there! Day1, we had no information about the times, or events of the day. Therefore, we simply weren't available. The guide asked the other group members what it was they wanted to see, in a town they knew nothing about!! Total fail in tour guiding! The 3 car accident on day 2 was the fault of the crazy, over fast driver, who ran into the back of two other vehicles! We stood on the edge of the road for a couple of hours, before the guide informed us of a shop/cafe 1 minutes around the corner, where we could wait safely for the replacement vehicle! Tour guide fail! Every day was an uncertain calamity of events. Unrealistic times frames, and disappointments from the lack of tour knowledge, and ability of the tour guide. I was particularly upset by the events on the Kandy to Ella train, where we were told to get on the train, with no ticket! We were removed from our seat by the train guy, as someone had made a backhanded payment for a ticket! He then took us into his cab to try to extort money, as our tour guide had done an illegal deal with the train station guy, stating we would also give cash to him too! I was very upset, I'm 65yrs old, this was too much for me! There were failings by the tour guide every single day. Too many to list, but there is one thing, I will NEVER travel with Mango Travel again, and I would seriously advise other people to take my advice

  We booked our Sri Lanka adventure with Mango Vacations. Nadeeka helped us plan and advised us on what was available to do. The hotels he booked were very good as was the included meals at selected hotels. We all enjoyed the optional tours we did. Our guide Lakee was very considerate and very polite. He looked after us very well and went above and beyond on several occasions. Our driver Lochana was a very skilled careful driver. We always felt safe. He was also our guide for the last week of our tour. He did a really good job. We would highly recommend using Mango Vacations when considering an adventure in Sri Lanka. Mango Vacations and team made our tour very memorable.

  This was a great tour to get a overview of what Sri Lanka has to offer. There was a lot of variety from day to day that varied from ancient ruins, nature hikes, safaris, to cultural events and experiences. We were given options based on our interests which made it nice as everyone could choose activities based on preference. I enjoyed that we had a small group which made it feel like family. Our guide Vishwa was great as he made me feel as we were traveling with a local friend instead of being on a tour. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and has so much to offer. When l return l will book with Mango Vacations and request Vish.

  What an amazing Sri Lankan experience. This tour had the lot! Hiking up mountains, incredible temples, jungles and safaris, awesome train rides, excellent tea plantations, extraordinary terrain and interesting monuments! Thili our guide was very knowledgeable and was excellent in his descriptions and history. Waseem our young driver was exceptional mastering the crazy roads and traffic. One of my best holiday experiences 🥰

  We have just finished a 2 week tour around the island of Sri Lanka with Thili (our guide) and Waseem (our driver), and I cannot speak highly enough about them. We had a great time and we were taken to some of the most amazing places. Nothing was too much trouble for Thili and Waseem during the tour, making sure that everything exceeded our expectations. Our thanks goes out to Mango Vacations and TourRadar for giving us the opportunity to see the best of Sri Lanka.

  I picked Mango Vacations as I wanted to support local operators, majority of reviews were v good, and because they had this tour that included five of my mandatory things to see. Number one being, as for most tourists Sigiriya rock castle. Initially, all queries were responded to v quickly, and then after payment, all went quiet, especially when I requested confirmation of final itinerary and list of hotels. Then about 5 days before tour was due to start, was asked if I minded starting tour a day later. Had already booked to arrive a day before initial start date, so wish I had known before I booed airfare. Had to request Whatsapp number as was getting concerned about how genuine this operator was. So was relieved to be able to speak to Nadeeka who said he would pay for extra night in Negombo So all good. On Day 1 after picking up rest of tour group, six in all, we were informed that, that was the entire group, and also that we would be visiting Sigiriya rock the next morning. As tour had started later than planned and we were v late getting to hotel in Sigiriya ie 9 pm, we were asked whether we still wanted to visit Sigiriya at 4,30 am for the sunrise. There was mixed opinion, and then curiously after the guide got a phone call, we were informed that another person was joining tour and suddenly it was decided we would visit Sigiriya rock the 3rd day and not the second day. The mini bus was already a tight fit for 6 passengers and I was concerned about fitting another person. We were offered the option the next day of getting a bigger vehicle but after majority decision to opt not to, we continued with the small bus. I doubt that we would ever have got a bigger one, because the hair pin bend and narrow lane that led to hotel in Nuwareliya would have been impossible to navigate in anything bigger. On the evening of second day, two of us opted out of visit to Minneriya national park, and on our way to dinner, happened to meet three others from group who said that the guide wanted to know if we were interested in climbing Sigiriya rock at 4.30 the next morning, to which we replied no, as we had time to think about it and were not really interested in a sunrise view, and as I was also interested in visiting the museum, which would not be open so early. We met the same group again at dinner and they informed us that pick up time for next morning was 9.30, which I thought was a bit late as we had a v busy schedule ahead and had to get to Kandy for the cultural show, I thought at a specific time. By now, did wonder why guide had not contacted us directly as he had our WhatsApp numbers. At least mine, which was shared on day before tour started. The next morning, at pick up, we were taken to a sight for a distant view of the rock and took a group photo after which the guide said we were going to Dambulla. When I enquired whether we were coming back to visit the rock, was to my utter horror, told that because we had opted not to climb at 4,30 am, guide had ASSUMED we were not interested in visiting the site at all. I was disappointed to note that others on tour did not seem to care on missing out. One did admit that she did not know about Sigiriya until the previous day. Now I wish I had done a solo tour. We also found out that the person who joined on the second day had been taken to climb the rock at 4.30 am, So, had the initial groups itinerary been compromised to accommodate another? On reflection, think this is the problem with this operator ie having too many tours advertised to operate on every day of the year and trying to consolidate and optimise on transport to accommodate all the varying itinerary. By now, I was inconsolable and had zero expectation and felt the tour was ruined for me To be fair, a few days later the guide did acknowledge his mistake and apologised and when Nadeeka found out I was staying on in Colombo for a few days after tour, he did offer to provide transport to Sigiriya and back , but by then I was too tired and did not want any further anxiety or disappointments, so declined the offer. Sorry Mango vacations, although I appreciated the guide, driver and hotels, you failed to deliver the whole package. The disappointment of not visiting the Sigriya rock castle site, will forever be etched in my memory and I will never again pick a previously unknown operator.

  Our tour guide Thili and the driver Malith are all really really good. They are not only guided us with knowledge, but also with great help on all things. We are very grateful to have them accompany us all way through.

  I enjoyed my tour and was very pleased with our thoughtful and helpful guide Thili and primary drivers Roshan and Rochan, as well as my two easy-going travel companions, who added to the pleasurable experience. Even after Thili left before my tour ended, he was always checking in to make sure things were going as smoothly as possible and acting as a conduit with Mango's head office. The hotels exceeded my expectations. Before and during the trip, Mango's office representatives responded quickly to my inquiries, but they didn't always provide answers and there was some confusion and miscommunication about my hotel early in the tour and my pick-up on the last day of it. These were just minor inconveniences in the grand scheme of things, however. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with friendly people and I recommend visiting it and to use Mango Vacations to organize and execute it.
