- RLRae· August 1st, 2024I think 1 guide for 16 people was too much. Also we really did not get much facts about Iceland on the tour which was disappointing. The trail was beautiful but some hikes did not match the itinerary.Trip date: July 2024
- Kalpana· August 1st, 2024I had a wonderful experience. Our guide Dayan kept us safe.Trip date: July 2024
- Megan· July 27th, 2024The Laugavegur trail is beautiful with such a variety in terrain and magnificent views. TourRadar and Arctic Adventures were very responsive before the trek in answering all out questions and requests. On the trek, I would have liked it if the guide gave us some information about where we were hiking seeing that the land is so rich in geological history. Maybe having a guide that was an Iceland native would have provided this experience. Also, we ran out of some food on the trek. The supply of fruits and vegetables was always low. I felt on the flip side that a lot of junk like cookies was provided. If we had less of that and more produce, it would have been ideal. I feel like at some meals there was also a shortage, for example of scrambled eggs for breakfast. We are an experienced group of hikers, and we felt that some days there was not enough mileage and that the guide could have been more in tune to the needs of our group and modified the trek accordingly. Other than those couple of things this was all in all a great experience.Show moreTrip date: July 2024
- Judit· July 23rd, 2024-Food. There wasn't enough food, especially fruits and salad. We only had 1 container of hummus for 16 guests and 1guide that ran out the first day. There was 1 container of mustard that we ran out in 2 days. Not enough cucumber to make sandwich every day, we ran out after 3 days. So, why would the company buy so little healthy food, like mustard, hummus, cucumber, apple, tomato? - Huts. The first 3 hours were [Removed in Moderation], there was no space for us to sleep..the mattresses were of children size with no gaps in between. You should be informing your guys in the description. If I knew, I would have brought my tent. - - Guide. I wanted an Icelandic guide who knows the language, knows the names of the mountains, knows some history about the glaciers and eruptions, and the river names. Who is knowledgeable about Iceland. This guide couldn't even pronounce a single Icelandic word correctly, and he was wrong about any fact. Besides, our guide hardly ever talked. Our guide only focuses on safety and food. There are many more responsibilities of a guide that he didn't cover. I didn't like his style and lack of knowledge. He needs to be trained. I don't think he got guiding training. In comparison, the Icelanders go to guiding school. This guide needs some serious training! 1. He punished a couple after the 1st day hike to hike right behind him bc they were a little bit slower, therefore they could not chat with rest of the group during the hike for the rest of the trip, for 5 days. 2. He treated us as children. We said that we r a cohesive group and advanced hikers. Yet, he did not trust us, made some people lose their confidence in hiking. He was saying, don't jump from the rocks, don't touch the boiling water on the ground bc it burns you, or do not fight over space during packing. At very shallow creek crossings, he made a big deal from a small group putting larger rocks into the water to cross dry; they succeeded and it was a no deal situation. 3. He didn't follow the itinerary for day 5, skipped the Skógar trail despite of good weather. We then asked him to at least do the partial trail on day 6 so we can get closer to the glacier. He agreed on this, but we had to skip the crater tour for day 6 bc of this. On day 5 he took us on a shorter trail and we had lots of time in the afternoon to hike. There were wonderful designated trails to choose from but he only allowed us to do very easy trails. When a couple hiked instead part of the Skógar trail that afternoon, he scolded them in front of everybody.Show moreTrip date: July 2024
