- JSJames· April 25th, 2024We enjoyed it tremendously. It was good value for top quality (hotels, meals, transportation). It was nice that everything was planned and organized for us. A truly easy way to travel and see the sights (natural wonders such as waterfalls, volcanoes, rainforests, wildlife).Show moreDestination Services Costa Rica commented on this reviewThank you for your very positive feedback. - AAAdiel· February 1st, 2024Very nice and efficient tour of the more exciting cities in Costa Rica. Very high level hotels. Greatly organized transportation transfers from location to location. Well organized tours. However, one of the tours forgot to pick us up, and after an hour of waiting we were assigned to another tour with the same plan. Usually we were picked even few minutes before the due time. We highly recommend TourRadar.Show moreDestination Services Costa Rica commented on this reviewThank you for your very positive feedback. - CACarilyn· December 26th, 2023Arenal was clouded over--no fault of any tour. Three hours at the hot springs was too long for me, but the others enjoyed it. Food was good. The boat tour through the byways of Tortuguero was enjoyable. The woodcarving village was interesting, but we weren't shown where in/near the shop the factory was.Show moreDestination Services Costa Rica commented on this reviewGood Day Dear Carilyn. - JMJOhn· April 28th, 2023We loved this tour and I would highly recomemned this to anyone. Costa Rica is beautiful and the people are very polite and courteous. Our whole expierence was something we'll never forget and we are planning on coming back. The guides were very knowledgeable and demonstated patience with the tourist. They answered all our questions and went at a pace that everyone could follow. TourRadar did a wonderful job and everything went as planned. We had on several occasion has to meet our ride to take us someplace, the ride ALWAYS showed up on time and the driver never asked for tips. We did bring $5.00 and $10.00 for tips depending how far the driver had to drive us or how long a escorted hike was. We will be coming back and I will definitely use TourRadar again.Show moreDestination Services Costa Rica commented on this reviewThanks so much for your feedback! we really appreciate the time you took to write such a review! - JLJill· February 24th, 2023We loved all the locations and adventures. We wish we would have been warned about how much tip money to have on hand. The biggest issue was we didn’t know that they book part of the group at different locations so we were separated from our friends for 2 of the 3 locations. That made for extra travel cost and coordination. Overall, I would do this trip again in a heartbeat! It was amazing getting rained on in the rainforest! Alex the tour guide was Amazing in Tortuguero. Walking around Arenal we found so much food, sweets, and local art/merchandise. We also went horseback riding during the day. The zipline in Monteverde was a highlight to end on. The restaurant called Kapi Kapi is perfect for a sunset dinner, a delicious menu with and a delightful family that runs the place! The staff, live music, and food at the Radisson in San Jose was great. They helped us find the best all in one place for souvenirs! The chocolates aren’t great and the rum is horrible but the coffee liqueur is yum!Show moreDestination Services Costa Rica commented on this reviewThanks so much for your feedback!, we really appreciate the time you took to write such a review!.Hope soon you come back to Costa RicaTrip date: February 2023
- LRLaura· February 12th, 2023Overall very good experience. We did several cool things that we really enjoyed. We would like to have had more information. For example, we paid for the boat excursion in Tortuguero but they did not have record of that. It caused a few hours of stress and then at the last minute the hotel received the information that we had already paid. Would have been nice to avoid that. There was also more down time that I expected but that’s my fault for making assumptions. We had a great time overall and would do it again.Show moreDestination Services Costa Rica commented on this reviewThanks so much for your feedback!, we really appreciate the time you took to write such a review!.Hope soon you come back to Costa RicaTrip date: February 2023
- Azam· January 14th, 2023We had an excellent time with this tour. Our only feedback was to include more tours. We had 2.5 days with nothing included and we had to arrange stuff ourselves, which is okay, but gets expensive when you already paid for the whole tour. Also, Tortuguero and Monteverde were both similar vibes (two rainforests). I would suggest Tortuguero (which was fantastic) and maybe Rio Celeste or Jaco for a more diverse vacation. The resort and time in Arenal was our favorite. It was easy to spend all day at the resort but we also wanted to explore the area, so this was one of the sites where we arranged our own excursions. Speaking of hotels, the rank is Hotel Arenal Manoa, Hotel Poco a Poco in Monteverde, and lastly Pachira Lodge in Tortuguero. Pachira Lodge is probably as best as you can get in the middle of the rainforest. The room and bathroom aren't the most new/modern, but the experience is amazing. To be sleeping in the middle of the rainforest is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We woke up to howler monkeys and saw much more wildlife in Tortuguero than in Monteverde. We did a hike in the Monteverde Cloud Forest which was our least favorite excursion (not much wildlife and okay views). The included food is pretty much all the breakfasts at the hotels and all the meals while at Pachira Lodge. 3 out of 5 star food at Pachira Lodge. You're just so hungry after all the hikes/excursions it doesn't really matter. Rice, beans, some protein, salad, dessert...gets the job done. Not bad in any sense but nothing remarkable. The restaurant at Hotel Manoa was very nice, lunch and dinner not included, but we ended up eating there anyways. Reasonably priced. Also very easy to call a cab to the city center in Arenal, about $12 one way. Forgot to mention the first night in San Jose. Basically...eh. We got there on January 1st, so most things were closed. We were tired after travel so we ended up just relaxing in the hotel. Just your normal Radisson hotel with a bar/restaurant in the lobby. We heard San Jose was unsafe but we didn't really explore, so can't comment on this. Someone we were transferring with had a necklace snatched from their neck while walking around San Jose so I guess just be aware of your surroundings if you chose to spend more time there. On our way home, we were transferred to San Jose 6 hours before our flight departure because they only offer two shared transfers from Monteverde, one early in the morning and one early in the afternoon. We were told the afternoon transfer could get us to the airport late because of traffic. The San Jose airport is kind of nice so it was okay. Excursions we would highly recommend: ATVing in Arenal and the Don Juan Coffee/Chocolate/Sugarcane farm in Monteverde. Neither included, but our favorites. Our favorite included excursions were the protected rainforest tour in Tortuguero which is done via boat and the volcano hike in Arenal. Not technically an excursion, but the hotsprings at the Manoa resort was amazing. The swim up bars have a nice happy hour too. Moreso a warm-spring because they mix cool water into the naturally heated geothermal water, but nonetheless relaxing. All in all, a spectacular vacation. I know there are several negative comments above, but mostly just nit-picky things. We do not regret going with a tour company because the transport would have been very difficult and stressful if we did it on our own. All the included transfers arrived exactly on time. A couple of times we had private transfers for 2-3 hour long drives, which was nice. The boat transfers are very fun because you get to appreciate the landscape and not have to worry about who will take you to the dock and who will pick you up. It was always easy to find the person transferring us. We got to do everything people talk about in regards to Costa Rica (wildlife, hiking, coffee, hotsprings, etc).Show moreDestination Services Costa Rica commented on this reviewThanks so much for your feedback!, we really appreciate the time you took to write such a review!.Hope soon you come back to Costa RicaTrip date: January 2023

- Tara· August 29th, 2022Excellent itinerary. The guides were friendly and gave individualized attention as much as they could while managing the group as a whole. Traveling as a single woman with a young child, I had zero problems. We loved each stop’s uniqueness. The accommodations were beautiful. My only suggestions would be: 1. have someone make note and ensure future women are booked into rooms near reception. Two of my stays were at the opposite end of the property. Again, no problems but it did make me hyper vigilant. 2. Offer add-on day tours. I filled our days with extra sights on my own but some people might like that service add-on.Show moreTrip date: July 2022
