Nevertheless, we were quite happy with our tour guide/driver. He usually went to great lengths to show us his country. He took particular care to make it possible for me to experience the most important sights with my two walking frames. He also tried to find local guides who spoke some German, which was usually successful. He was a safe driver. What we lacked a little was more information about the country itself.Show more

Great mix of everything to see from the tea plantation, the safari, whale/dolphin watching, train ride, temples, beach, ride to the village on the bullock cart, lunch in the village, ride on the Tuk Tuk and everything else. Trip date: January 2024 - Paul· January 22nd, 2024Excellent tour of Sri Lanka with BH Lanka tours. Ours was a compacted 8 night tour of the highlights of Sri Lanka which included all the must do's and some optional extra add-ons almost all of which we squeezed into the itinerary. What made it most enjoyable was the wonderful full-time tour guide with us, Janaka Priyadarshana, who is so knowledgeable with a great personality that kept us moving along from place to place due to his excellent driving skills and comfortable car that whisked us through the windy roads in the mountains and past the thousands of tuk tuks and motorbikes not to mention buses that are everywhere. We stayed in seven different hotels most of a very good standard and all very welcoming. Word of warning there is little time for R&R on this package but it was actually what we wanted after spending 9 days in the Maldives beforehand. It might be an idea to add on a few extra days during or at the end to relax by the pool at one of the beach resort hotels. Introduced us to new music artists and culture we spent day and night together with lots of laughs every day and amazing restaurants away from hotels. Hotels were all spotless and amazing, food hit and miss not catering for Europeans service good A lot of issues about hotels and itinerary in booking because it was the busiest time of the year and under staffed after cov. but beyond expectations on arrival .
