- BLBenedict· November 22nd, 2024The stay on the cruise (M/S A Sara) was clean, comfortable and pleasant with decent food. Please read through the webpage carefully to understand what is included (e.g. guide to explain the sites, drivers, horse carriage ride in Edfu, motorboat to Philae) and excluded (cruise Wi-fi, entrance fees, tips) so that you don't pay for something that you're not supposed to pay for. If you have paid for additional tours such as the hot air balloon ride on TourRadar, please make it clear to both the admin and the guide of the tour company beforehand. I spent more time and effort than I would like to talk about such administrative matters because the admin thought that I did not make payment for the hot air balloon ride (despite me already doing so) due to a system error. Also, clarify early about the hot air balloon ride too as mine was the non-sunrise ride which did not make sense in the timeline as taking the later ride resulted in me checking out of the boat and starting the tour late. The last day could have been planned better. I am thankful that after I raised these issues at the end of the tour, the tour company took time to come down to listen and offer service recovery. Overall it was still a nice 4D3N journey with ample time to explore Aswan (on the first day if you start the tour in the morning) and Luxor (third night).Show moreEgypt Direct Tours commented on this reviewHi Lee, many thanks for your comment. - HSHICHAM· October 6th, 2024Everyone from Egypt Direct Tour was very friendly and did all they can do to make our trip enjoyable. Because we were leaving early on the last day, they asked to hotel to prepare for us a breakfast box to take with us. Seeing the pyramids and other ancient Egyptian history was a great experience.Show moreEgypt Direct Tours commented on this reviewWe appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review, [Hicham]. - AAnonymous· October 5th, 2024You will be left speechless after this tour by Egypt Direct Tours! Bassam was my guide and he made the whole experience even more memorable. Bassam was so insightful with his extensive knowledge of the Pyramids, tombs, and hieroglyphics, probably a photographer in Giza and got me to Memphis, Saqarra and the VIP access to recently opened tombs. Bassam even bought water for the workers around the Pyramid complex and food for the strays in Saqqara. Doing a private tour made the experience so much better because you move at your own pace. I even had time to stop and get coffee and spices to bring home. I highly recommend this company for anyone wishing to come to Egypt.Show moreEgypt Direct Tours commented on this reviewMany thanks, Marek, for your 5 * review, and we hope to service you again in Egypt. - RCRaymond· March 31st, 2024We had an amazing and educational time visiting many of the popular ancient sites along the Nile River. This tour included the many must see sites such as Valley of the Tombs, Abu Simbell, Karnac Temple and Hatshesput Temple. Included, our tours were well organized with timely pickup from the airport and comfortable transportation such as an A/C mini van, covered motorboats and accommodations on the cruise ship. The "Royal Elite" ship was about 60% full and comprised of passengers from Europe, Asia and North America while the excellent (all Egytian) staff spoke english. All of our meals were Buffet service and food was generally good to fair with a variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian options. Note, the entrance fees to the sites and gratuities for cruise staff, drivers and guides were not included. A special Thank You our tour guide Adam (Azab), he was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating us during our tours. Everyone in our group were very grateful for having Adam as our guide!!!Show moreEgypt Direct Tours commented on this reviewHi Ray, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review. - AA· November 30th, 2023The sights are beautiful and amazing albeit many tourists to fully enjoy the view. The cruise advertises itself as a five star ferry but at most it would be four (no, the advertised free WiFi does not work) - but is overall fine. The drivers were reliable and on time, each stop and activity had different ones and overall the trip worked out well and as planned. Rather mixed views on the guide Mohammed, who overcharged for each optional activity. While he made an effort to accommodate needs and wishes along the trip and succeeded by getting some tricks off his sleeve with a big network of people, those optional activities usually came with a hefty surcharge - about double the actual cost or more. One charge was EUR 90 for two people for a private boat trip from Aswan to the botanical garden, a service that can be booked for USD 40 for two people. The second charge was EUR 40 for an additional three-minute car ride to the Valley of Queens (to see the tomb of Nefertari) situated between two organised sites in Luxor. The visit was recommended by Mohammed and absolutely worth it (including the ticket price), but unfortunately the additional car ride expenses were unexpectedly high for the short detour and we did not dare to question it as you are dependent on the guide, especially as women travelling alone. Difficult to actually trust him. Finally, he seemed knowledgeable but it was often very difficult to understand him.Show moreEgypt Direct Tours commented on this reviewThanks for your comment and kindly be informed you that the itinerary is shown that the WIFI in the cruise with extra charge, and about extra activities are subject to your request and supposed to contact us if you faced any disappointed. we are... - CMCharles· August 15th, 2023The territory is the attraction. First, I highly suggest spending the extra couple hundred dollars for a private guide. There are two big stops, both early mornings. The tomb of Rames II at Abu Simbel, a long car ride south of Aswan on your first morning. The second is Luxor, both the expensive tombs at Valley of the Kings and Karnac's Temple. A good guide can give you a feeling of the magnitude and, well, politics that make up the height of the Egyptian Empire. Even seeing Aswan Dam gives you a feeling of how Egypt has a long history of gigantic undertakings. The boat ride is fine, and the Nile is lovely. The food is passable, heavy on the vegetables. You get assigned to a table with your booking party, so solo travelers eat alone, less than ideal. Even on the boat, you will get assaulted by the shop owners, masseuse, photographer, etc. I get sick of hearing, "My Friend! Where are your from?" Oh, bring cash. They can't use credit card for much.Show moreEgypt Direct Tours commented on this reviewMany thanks, Merriams for your comment Ahmed El-KadiTrip date: August 2023

- Benazir· December 13th, 2022The tour was very smooth, we had to finish all the itinerary in 3days and the tour company arranged everything smoothly, they went the extra mile and gave us the best experience. The tour guide took us to a local restaurant in Luxor, which was the best meal I had in Egypt. The guide was very helpful. the main contact always checking on us, called and texted to make sure we are fine. Had a great time with the tour company.Show moreEgypt Direct Tours commented on this reviewMany thanks ,for your time to write your experience with Egypt Direct Tours.Trip date: December 2022
- WMWhitney· November 23rd, 2022My group of 10 had a mixed experience with this tour. In the end, we left having had a really fun time, but we agreed that there were some things we wish had been different. Our first guide was unacceptable. He didn't speak clearly in our language & seemed to have no idea of what our schedule was meant to be. We also didn't realize our temple tickets weren't included in our price. Instead of talking about this prior to our departure, he paid for our first tour & on the way to our second told us we would need to pay him back. Then became very hostile when we expressed confusion. Be sure to clarify all this prior to your trip. The brochure says that sightseeing is included, but fails to mention that tickets into them are not included. At the first temple he got our agent on the phone & handed it to me saying 'This is your problem.' Then went off to give the tour while myself & a few of my party tried to sort it out. Which totally killed my vibe for that whole temple given that my guide was the opposite of helpful. The next time I saw him was less than 30 minutes into the tour when he decided he was done - half of us never heard a single thing from him about the location. Then he failed to tell us when we would need to leave to make our next location - so we totally missed that one. We are grateful that our agent remedied the situation by finding us a better tour guide for the next day - but had to deal with this first guide interrupting my groups dinner to beg us to tell the agent that we still wanted him to guide us. It was so inappropriate & unprofessional. The cruise itself had some uncomfortable moments - the front desk continued to refuse to return our passports to us with no information as to why & an extremely unhospitable/condescending vibe. Then also confronted us about the poor ratings we gave him on our review (also so inappropriate & unprofessional to demand explanations less than 20 minutes after we turn in a mandatory review they requested on our second to last day). There was also a camera man onboard the ship that kept winking & kissing at girls in my group. Also tried to follow us around to get footage that we told him we did not want. His vibe was so totally weird. A girl in my group told him to stop talking to her because his winks & kissy faces made her uncomfortable, to which he laughed at her & later tried to get into our tour van. Our new guide was the only thing that made this experience work in the end & we were very grateful to have him for the rest of our cruise. The schedule is incredibly fast though & wish we could have had more time at each location - but keep in mind that this is part of the nature of a cruise, so better to just stay in Aswan/Luxor at a hotel for a few days if you don't want to be rushed.Show moreEgypt Direct Tours commented on this reviewMany Thanks for your comment and for entrance is excluding and we mentioned that in the itenreary, we have to be clear with our travelers .Trip date: November 2022
