- AGinger· October 30th, 2024I was grateful for our bus driver because she was a native Icelander and could answer questions about life in Iceland. Our tour manager was Italian and had only been in the country 1 1/2 years. I would have valued being offered a map or a phone app right at the start that helped identify where we were. Names were very confusing. I realize I am a map person but the names are long and difficult to pronounce. The bus driver was able to answer questions about family life, education, religion etc. She converted wind speeds from Celsius to Fahrenheit for us one afternoon when we were confined to the hotel due to high winds. Weather is unpredictable. Can you have a short program or something when weather changes tour destination plans? Destinations are far apart and it is hard to pivot to something else.
