Tortuguero National Park Tour Companies

This tour was absolutely amazing! It was a Dream Vacation for my husband and I the year we turned 60. We had never travelled to a tropical country together before. The organization of the tours, the customer service, the accommodations, were all outstanding. We have not one bad thing to say. The first part of the tour to La Tortugaro and the Coffee/Cocoa Tour in the Arenal area were the two biggest highlights; but the whole thing, every day, every hour, was amazing! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

We toured the Natural Wonders of Costa Rica this past July 2024. Our tour guide was Alan Rodriguez Nunez. Alan was an excellent guide. He is a walking encyclopedia, and everything he showed us included interesting facts, ie the type of birds he could identify just by sound and the local flora by its genus name. The tour itself was not too restrictive of a schedule as we were given ample time to choose where to eat for the dinners that were not included in the package. We were also able to shop for souvenirs at several shops. Alan always asked what we would like to do and checked that we were happy, he made sure we were never hungry asking when we would like lunch and dinner. Our bus driver, Raul was also excellent. Raul traversed the winding mountain roads with ease and it was comforting that he was at the wheel. Not having to worry about our itinerary and transportation was a great benefit of this vacation. Driving in Costa Rica is an adventure in itself. Since we had Alan and Raul to worry about the details of the tour, we were able to enjoy our vacation thoroughly and highly recommend this tour. In 10 days, we felt that we saw all the diverse regions of this country.

The tour of Tortuguero was a pleasant surprise. Andrea gave us a personal experience, she is knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife of Costa Rica. We saw so much wildlife on our boat and walking tours. The experience that we had on this tour was great from start to finish and I highly recommend this tour for anyone that enjoys nature.

Alex was a great tour guide and we had a blast! The bus and boat that we were taken on were both comfortable and safe. The accommodations were as described. As long as it cools down enough at night, with a rainstorm for example, it’s comfortable enough to sleep without AC. The amenities on the lodge were fantastic, clean, and well maintained. The beach was stunning and the tours provided were really incredible and intimate. Highly would recommend this tour!

All worked with interesting excursions and experiences. Alex the guide was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and went out of his way to make suture we all had a great experience. The hotel and its facilities were good too

We took with us a beautiful memory of Costa Rica and we are looking forward to returning to this beautiful country. It has so much nature and dream landscapes to explore....

The tour and resort were fantastic. Similar to other reviewers below, the issues I had were with Bamba (the booking agent on TourRadar). They were not very responsive when asked about pickup time. Bamba only provided an incorrect first name to the company running the tour, which resulted in confusion and delay during initial pickup. What is written in the description is not fully accurate (no second boat tour, no second walking tour through national park). Consider booking through other agents or directly through one of the resorts in Tortuguero instead of Bamba.

The way they organized this tour was so poor and frustrating. On the first day, tour company didn't send the infromation about exact time when driver picked us up and I thought they would be my hotel at 6 as a brochure said. But it turned out it was 5:30 (after we departed, they send the information). The receptionist suddenly showed up my room and the driver got angry with me because we were late. Everyday, we had different tour guides. After we landed on the island by boat, the tour guide told us that he was no longer our tour guide and we had to wait for another guide to send us to the hotel. But nobody showed up and we only knew the name of our hotel. Fortunately, one of the tourists could speak Spanish and he asked locals about the location so we finally arrived. We didn't received any description about meals, tours so you may figure out by yourself. Boat tour, bus transportation and meals were really great. The place, Tortuguero was good place to see the nature and relax with staying at the beach. Our hotel located in front of beach.Every tour guide was friendly and well-known about animals, nature and Tortuguero. (I don't recommend to travel there in January because it's rainy season.)

The small group explorations are always my favorite. We had 19 people and the itinerary was amazing. This tour gave me “first ever” experiences as I was exposed to the rainforest during the rainy season. The unusual flora and fauna, white water rafting, zip lining, hanging bridges, hearing from local people about green turtle research, coconut plantations, cacao plantations, and coffee plantations all were firsts for me and I loved every minutes. The accommodations were beautiful and each unique to the area and staying multiple days in each was especially enjoyable. The Arenal Volcano was my view for three nights. Nature walks and boat rides on rivers and canals added greatly to my list of birds and animals spotted. Our guide was so knowledgeable and an extra plus was that he brought his scope which allowed us to get awesome views of those animals and birds nestled in the trees. I arrived in Costa Rica a day early so I added a city tour of San Jose that was arranged at my hotel. I have never been disappointed with Collette tours and this one was exceptional!

This was a great trip - highlights were Carlos and Jonathon - our guide and driver…. They did everything to make our trip run smoothly and show us as much of Costa Rica as they could… Fab cycling, brilliant wildlife, a great selection of hotels - all very different… we got a great feel for Costa Rica.

The guided tours on the optional activities were brilliant. The last hotel in Manuel Antonio was the icing on the cake after some quite gruelling cycle rides. So well positioned near the beach. I always felt safe and looked after on the bike rides

We had a really great vacation in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. We experienced and saw an incredible amount. We hardly had to worry about anything because everything was planned perfectly and very well thought out. Thank you again for the organization! We will definitely travel with Miller again.
