It was a fantastic vacation that lives up to the name of the tour. It was a very complete trip because it had cultural, historical content, adventures and beautiful beaches. We had the opportunity to move around the country and visit wonderful places and learn more about a culture very different from ours and we are very happy with the Tour Operator because everything flowed perfectly, we did not have any type of problem, I can say that I recommend this tour 100%.
- by Orlando SuarezTour Operator • This tour essentially did the Mae Hong Son loop of northern Thailand. It was well-organized and went smoothly. The few minor hiccups along the way - which are bound to happen - were handled quickly and fairly by the tour operator, Bravo IndoChina Tours. Guide and Transportation: • Excellent guide (Aimy), informative and helpful, she really enhanced the tour (see itinerary) • Excellent driver (Mr. S), quick and efficient and I never felt nervous about his driving • Very comfortable van Accommodation: • Some accommodation was not that good, in particular, Hotel M Chiang Mai. The room on the first night had a strong sewer gas smell coming from the bathroom, and there was no hot water for the morning shower. The tour company arranged for the hotel to move us to a different room the second night, and it was better. However, on the last night (at the end of the tour), again there was no hot water. There are quite a few hotels to choose from in Chiang Mai and it should be possible to use a much better hotel for the same price or a very small increment in price. • The guest house in Mae Sariang was a little rustic but it is a small town where there is not much choice, so that is understandable. • The resort in Pai was very good, the best of the 3 hotels used. Itinerary: • The first day of the actual tour is very light, with just a visit to the Doi Suthep Temple in Chiang Mai. It seemed a bit like a wasted day. There are plenty of things to do in Chiang Mai; it should be simple to provide a full day of interesting things. Alternatively, drop the preceding night from the tour and reduce the cost accordingly. • The second day (Doi Inthanon National Park) was very good. The Royal Pagodas were the highlight, but overall the day was full and interesting. • The third day (Mae Sariang to Pai) was very good. The highlight was Lod Cave, it is really spectacular. • The fourth day the scheduled itinerary was rather light, but fortunately our guide enhanced it for us. We were able to go on a short hike at Pai Canyon which provided some spectacular views. We went to the actual hot springs, not the warm springs at Sai Ngam. And we watched a great sunset from the White Buddha Temple overlooking Pai. • The fifth day, in consultation with our guide, we essentially discarded the scheduled itinerary which largely consisted of a long drive to Lampang to see some temples. Instead we fed elephants outside of Pai, had great fun playing at the Bua Tong sticky waterfalls, and visited an amazing set of temples in Inthakhin. This was great value added by our guide. As it turns out, some of the best moments were these unscheduled stops.

Very good organization. Questions about the booking were answered quickly and competently. The tour guide was super nice, competent and really explained a lot about the country and the culture. The hotels were all super clean and very nice. The fact that lunch was included meant that we ate a lot of food that we probably wouldn't have ordered. Lunch was different every time and always delicious. You just had to get in the car and off you went. Definitely a trip where you can't go wrong. Simply fantastic

The best experience of our Thailand vacation was in Chiang Mai. Our tour guide Mr. Dare and driver Mr. Air were the absolute best and made our trip memorable and fabulous! They were very hospitable, accommodating, and shared great historical knowledge. We were in a flood disaster zone and the city streets were flooded. We were scared seeing the Army trucks with the American tourists being evacuated from the area. Mr Dare checked in with our hotel and the hotel manager reassured us they were still open, even though the telephone services were out. The flood reached knee deep in water, and Mr Dare arranged for the hotel workers to bring a canoe to carry us in and out of our hotel. He drove to the outskirts of the flooded zone, and we continued with our tour. He then picked us the next day, up outside the flooded zone, and drove us safety to the airport. When we arrived to Phuket, our family had a very bad experience with our tour guide, Ms B. For 2 hours, she tried to up sell tour tickets to the James Bond Island, dinner show, and the tiger zoo, etc. She was angry and agitated that we pulled up our Iphones and compared the pricing which was much cheaper. She told the driver to slow down to the hotel drop off so she could finish her high pressure sales. She was mad that we did not buy anything from her, and told her we just wanted to relax on the beach. She did not show up our last day to return to the airport; she just sent a driver to pick us up, and we had to find our own way at the International terminal, back to San Francisco. Overall, we highly recommend Mr Dare and Mr Air who went above and beyond to help make our trip so enjoyable! The Chan Family from San Francisco
- by Lydia Mahr ChanIt was a great opportunity to see the entire country from far north to major cities to the beaches. Our first guide Ms Pond was amazing. She went way out of her way to help us experience all that we wanted to get out of Bangkok, even taking extra time to hang out at the markets. She was great!!!! A shout out also to Mr Air, the driver for the Northern sites. He was so kind and took obvious pride in being a driver. Ensuring we always had cold water and cold refreshing hand towels. His van was so clean and comfortable and he provided snacks too. I took a 15 year teen girl with me who had never travelled and she loved them too!

Great all around. Chai was a superb guide. However, you need to book in first class cabin for the sleeper train back to Bkk.
- by Michele ParatteMost days were wonderful. Many great experiences and comfortable accommodations, but some differences between itinerary information and expectations. Particularly for a group of 50 - 80 year olds, some things were not made clear. The biggest complaint was the 2nd class sleeper car. It only says sleeper train, which given other accommodations, one would expect 1st class sleeping compartments. I even enquired before booking and was told a private compartment with my single supplement. One does have to read the category of this trip as well. It is an Explorer trip, so some things were slightly more strenuous. Given that, the guide, Chai was wonderful about making adjustments for some travelers. There is no mention of biking at Sukothai in the itinerary, so he arranged a tuk tuk for some of us. Some hotels were changed and in less convenient locations. The creatively written itinerary really draws you in to book and get excited but some crucial information, particularly for older travelers, is missing.

I joined the Northern Thailand: Hilltribes & Villages on July 15, 2024. I truly had the most fantastic experience and created the most wonderful memories. As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe. A huge heartfelt thank you to my guide Tew who was a friend to me for the duration of the week. Sharing all his knowledge, insight, kindness and taking the time to make my experience a great one! Thank you Tew! The trip brought me out of my comfort zone in the best possible ways. The scenery and views from the hiking journey was spectacular! I am so grateful I can say I have travelled to Thailand and grateful to of joined this tour specifically. This tour has given me the confidence and motivation to join another one in the future! From my experience on the Northern Thailand: Hilltribes & Villages, I look forward to returning to Thailand!
- by Julie BurrowsI had an amazing time with G Adventures! The itinerary was perfect; there was a lot to do and see, but it wasn't overwhelming and there was a lot of free time provided. My guide, Prem, was one of the sweetest, loveliest people I've ever met! She is brilliant at her job, and brings so much enthusiasm to work. She is extremely knowledgeable, and was always willing to share her knowledge with the group. Miss her so much already!

Thailand is a tropical paradise, no doubt. This country allowed me to soak up the sun, enjoy fresh coconut water while lying on the beach, and taste delicious tropical fruits like rambutan, dragon fruit, the juiciest mangoes, and the sweetest lychees I have ever had. They truly were a feast for the senses.

My husband and I are 2 months into a 5 month trip around the world. I can honestly say that our 3 day Tuk Tuk tour with our wonderful guide "Big" has been the best part of it so far! It was a dream come true for my husband to drive a Tuk Tuk, while I languished in the back enjoying the incredible scenery. We loved everything we did and everyone we met. The hikes were a perfect length for us and the temples and villages we visited were fascinating, it was so lovely to experience rural Thailand after being in Bangkok. The food provided was amazing too, plentiful and tasty. I would (and will) heartily recommend Tuk Tuk Tours to anyone visiting Thailand.
- by Joy EzekielThis trip is one of my top 5 experiences from all my travels in the world! We had our guide, Big, who was wonderful and did a fantastic job. We stayed in humble but wonderful accommodations with amazing views, food, and vibes. I was unable to drive a Tuk Tuk myself due to a short timeline with getting my international driver's license while overseas. However, I was in the back of Big’s Tuk Tuk and it was just as wonderful! I got to really take in the views, animals, and rural livelihoods. We stopped in just the right timeframes for bathroom and coffee breaks. The experiences and locations we were able to do within our you were fantastic and it didn't feel like we were spending our whole time “traveling” to destinations - which I appreciate. We got to know many of the business workers and owners of the establishments we visited or ate at. Everyone was incredibly friendly. The note or heads-up I would give to people is to expect some very firm beds. As a side sleeper, it was a bit difficult to sleep the whole night through and I had sore hips - other Tuk Tuk travels mentioned the same. I also experienced firm beds in Chiang Mai independent of this tour so I believe it’s more common in Thailand to have firm beds. I remedied this a little by using any bed duvets as pillow tops and had the sheets on top of me with no fan or higher AC temps. Oh! And bring bug spray and a rain jacket/windbreaker. They have some bottles of bug spray and ponchos but I felt that personal ones went a long way. Have a blast! I wish I had time to do the 11-day trip with an international driver’s license. I may be back sometime to do just that. 👏

I was very appreciative of my local tour guide who was very experienced, had wonderful local knowledge and was really flexible to meet my needs. Thank you!
- by Danielle BarberWhilst the tour was as per itinerary I mistakenly thought that I was fit enough to complete the trekking, so I had to cut it short. The change to the original plan was well managed by the tour guide as well as the help required during the trekking. The experience of getting to know the life of the Karen tribes in the jungle was fantastic, however I mistakenly thought I could meet some of the long neck people in these Karen villages. Important to note that this was not part of this tour.

Eine sehr schöne, abwechslungsreiche Reise in den Norden Thailands. Sehr gut organisiert und wir fühlten uns jederzeit gut betreut, absolut empfehlenswert!
- by Nathalie BalmerVery smoothly run with comfortable vehicle door to door for every point of interest. Learnt alot about Thai history. Good lunches included. You visit places tourists typically don't get to go to. Hotels were all fine.
