- SPStephanie Louise· July 21st, 2024We had the most wonderful experience in Uganda. Everything about this tour was excellent - it was perfectly organised and included once-in-a-lifetime activities, kind and accommodating staff, delicious food, beautiful accommodation and fantastic communication throughout. We told our lovely tour guide, Allen, that we wanted to try some local food so she brought us to the home of an acquaintance, who cooked us a big feast. Richard was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. Before the tour, there were times I e-mailed Richard when it would've been in the middle of the night for him, and I still received a response minutes later. At one point the A/C in our car stopped working, and the next day Richard sent out a new car with working A/C for us to use, despite us being on the other side of the country (we never requested it - they were just very proactive!). He picked us up from the airport (quite rare for a tour CEO to do so) and called me at the end of our trip to discuss our experience. The staff really went above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We really couldn't have asked for anything more and we’ve come home with a lifetime of amazing memories. Right now I want to go back to Uganda!Show moreMukisa Safaris Uganda commented on this reviewHi Stephanie, We are very happy to receive feedback from you! - Iwona· July 11th, 2024Our experience with Mukisa Safaris was exceptional from start to finish. We booked our tour almost a year in advance, and as our departure date approached, we had numerous questions. Richard was fantastic at communicating with us, always responding promptly to every query, big or small. His answers were thoughtfully written, not just copy-paste responses, and they provided us with great reassurance. From the moment we arrived at Entebbe airport, we were able to relax and enjoy our adventure. Every day and every activity was meticulously organized and ran smoothly. Our tour guide, Alex, ensured we were on time and well-prepared for each day's activities. She briefed us every evening about the next day, advising us on what to wear and bring. Alex was brilliant – caring, knowledgeable, and passionate about Uganda and its wildlife. She shared many interesting stories and facts about Uganda and African culture and traditions. We enjoyed spending time with her in the evenings, but she also respected our privacy. Alex made sure we interacted with local people, participated in their activities, visited a local school, and tried local food. Dancing and having fun with indigenous people was a highlight. Our driver, Mande, was also excellent. We felt safe with him behind the wheel, and he always ensured we were comfortable and had the best views of animals and landscapes during our drives and game drives. He made sure we could take great photos without any obstacles. The accommodations improved each day. Staying in camps and hearing the sounds of birds, monkeys, hippos, and other animals was an unforgettable experience, like a symphony of nature. The quality of the rooms and tents was amazing, with comfortable beds and beautiful interiors. The food at every place was delicious – be prepared to eat a lot! Every staff member at each lodge treated us wonderfully; they were kind, smiley, and eager to hear about our adventures. We decided to visit Uganda after watching the documentary "Chimp Empire," which was filmed in the Kibale Forest National Park. It fascinated us with chimpanzees. However, we quickly discovered that Uganda has so much more to offer! We saw all the wild animals up close, feeling like we were in a live National Geographic episode. Observing hundreds of animals eating, feeding their babies, playing, or hunting was incredible. Uganda's beautiful landscapes, safety, rich culture, and kind people made our visit extraordinary. Every forest and safari we visited was breathtaking, and Murchison Falls is a must-see! Chimpanzee and gorilla trekking were the highlights of our trip and truly unforgettable experiences. We never imagined we would be so close to gorillas, even being touched by them and watching them play nearby! The rangers' communication ensures you'll see these magnificent animals, and your safety is their top priority with armed security walking with you. Uganda is a must-see country. In our opinion, while all African countries are impressive, Uganda offers it all. You can see lions, leopards, crocodiles, hippos, beautiful birds, fascinating primates, and stunning landscapes. Choosing Mukisa Safaris was the best decision we made, as they ensured every day of our trip went perfectly! We highly recommend Uganda and Mukisa Safaris.Show moreMukisa Safaris Uganda commented on this reviewIwona & Lucas Rivetti Guerino, Thank you so much for this wonderful review! - Gary· June 25th, 2024What an unbelievable experience! We cannot praise highly enough the organisers of this trip. From our travel agent - Carmen Patterson at API Travel, through the promoters - Tour Radar, and finally the hosts of the Tour in Uganda - Mukisa Safaris with Richard Kabazzi the company owner and our amazing, all knowledgeable, kind, passionate and loveable Tour Guide - Hami - no question too hard, and every request greeted with a smile and action, plus her brilliant Driver - Sam. Some of the roads we drove over were worse than diabolical, but we never had a single worry with Sam at the wheel. We had nothing but total confidence in his driving ability. Everything went to plan from the pickup at the airport through accommodation bookings, lunches on the road, and ‘Oh My God’ the safaris. Naturally, hanging out with the Gorillas was the pinnacle. We had a mother Gorilla with a baby on her back pose for photos just a couple of meters away from us before sauntering off into the jungle….closely followed by, in no specific order, rhinos, elephants, giraffe, monkeys, chimps, lions, herbivores by the herd, and the hippos. We cannot recommend highly enough to radar and Mukisa safaris.Show moreMukisa Safaris Uganda commented on this reviewDear Gary, Thank you so much for taking time to post this great and positive review! - MCMichelle· September 25th, 2023Let me start by saying that booking our Uganda/Rwanda safari through Mukisa was truly one of the best decisions that we’ve ever made! I am the type of person that meticulously plans every trip and will read through countless reviews, itineraries, etc. before making a decision. For this trip in particular, we were looking for a private tour that had a wide range of activities from multiple treks to game drives and cultural experiences. What initially drew me to Mukisa was the positive feedback from other guests and a mention on their website that they encourage/aid female tour guides. Upon reaching out through their website, I was immediately impressed with Richard’s quick responses, level of detail and ability to accommodate all of our requests. We started with the “10 Days Safari to Encounter Uganda’s Gorillas, Wildlife & Kigali City Tour” but Richard was able to help us customize the trip and integrate other activities that we were interested in - for example, my husband and I wanted to include a bike ride at the end of our trip. We originally didn’t think this could be part of our safari experience so reached out to a few local bike companies but received no responses. I posed the question to Richard (thinking it would be difficult to accommodate) and within 24 hours, he had found us a bike guide and adjusted our trip’s itinerary. Richard showed a tremendous amount of professionalism throughout the planning process, and loved that he met us in-person at the start of our trip! In terms of the actual safari, I could write several pages on all of the things that we loved but I’ll keep it to a few highlights: 1. The safari had an incredibly wide range of things to do, see, explore, etc. - from the types of animals (we were able to see the Big 5!) to the environments, ranging from jungle to forest to savannah. It was a lot to squeeze into 11 days but we truly feel like we left Uganda/Rwanda with a well-rounded experience. 2. All of the accommodations were conveniently located, clean and comfortable. If possible, we would recommend staying at the same hotel for at least 2 nights/each so you can feel settled and potentially upgrading 1-2 hotels, if you’re looking for additional amenities (e.g. swimming pool). Elephant Hab was our favorite hotel in Uganda. 3. We absolutely adored our guide & driver! Most of the other tour groups that we encountered had a single male guide/driver and we loved that Mukisa prioritized giving opportunities to female guides. Mable and Solomon went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every aspect of our trip and even made adjustments to the itinerary on the fly. Mable had a wealth of knowledge about the animals, culture, people, etc. and Solomon was an exceptional driver - making sure we saw all of the animals on our bucket list and navigating the constantly changing conditions. 4. It was quite clear that Mukisa has a strong reputation in the safari community. Several of the hotel managers and rangers made comments to us that they always enjoy working with Mukisa, and they have some of the best guides/drivers. If you’ve made it this far through my review then I hope you’re now considering Mukisa for your upcoming trip. I do not typically write extensive reviews but I genuinely think that this company is one of the best out there and will make this trip everything you could’ve imagined and more!Show moreMukisa Safaris Uganda commented on this reviewThank you so much Michelle for this wonderful review! - TSTom· August 24th, 2023Excellent package compiled by Richard at Mukisa, day to day ran with professionalism and courtesy by Alex and Sam, every little detail attended to. A fantastic country with endless places and people of interest, Uganda has a host of amazing vista's and wildlife, 100% safe to travel through and meet the local people and array of wildlife, Westerners seem to default with Kenya - Uganda is equally as impressive and safe to commute around, the people welcome you everywhere and state security is ever present on the roads and villages. Opportunity to meet the silver backs in their domain is the winner for Uganda over other African alternatives, this trumps the choice for Uganda as a destination.Show moreMukisa Safaris Uganda commented on this reviewTom, Than you so much for taking time to post this great review about our service and more so about portraying the actual description about the beauty and safety of Uganda as a country. - ACAlison· June 20th, 2023I had the most fantastic experience with Mukisa Safaris. The booking process was so seamless, and Richard could not have been more helpful. He replied promptly to my emails and made sure I had all the information I needed. He organised a jam-packed 6 days full of activities. I originally got in touch with him because I wanted to do the gorilla tracking, but the trip Richard organised offered so much more. I feel that I learnt lots about Uganda and it was lovely to be able to see so much of the country. Our guide, Allen, and driver, Solomon, were both absolutely wonderful and shared their knowledge about their country, making sure to show us things and take us to places that we told them we were interested in. As well as the main attraction, gorilla tracking, we also did a safari, chimp tracking, visited a traditional village, went on a boat ride, and did a city tour. Everything was arranged for us and we were picked up and dropped off at the airport either side of our trip. If you want a bespoke trip that caters to your needs and interests, then I couldn't recommend Mukisa Safaris more!Show moreMukisa Safaris Uganda commented on this reviewMr. Alison Cropper, We are grateful for this wonderful review and the comments made therein!
