Actual group (to Capri) was 50+ people. Disappointed as the trip was supposed to be a small group tour. Too much idle time for transportation between boat/hotel/train.Show moreTrip date: August 2023
- EPErika· June 20th, 2023The majority of our Rome-Napoli-Amalfi trip was amazing. The tour of Pompeii was excellent, hotel and overall experience in Sorrento was outstanding. The only negative experience was our day trip to Capri which I've already communicated to Destination Italia twice since we were there a week ago. The biggest complaint about the Capri day trip was the boat that we traveled on to Capri from Sorrento. Both descriptions I received from Destination Italia (through the TourRadar portal) said we would be riding on a hyrdofoil. Instead, we rode a very small, low-powered boat that we thought was simply taking us to a larger boat. It took nearly 3 hours to tour the island, and one of the passengers became severely seasick which was very uncomfortable for her and the rest of us sitting near her simply because of how slow the boat was going and how long it took to get around the island. The second complaint is the trip back to Sorrento. The older couple who we were not traveling with but was on the small boat to Capri with us told the boat driver and Destination Italia person (Lorenzo) that they would NOT be riding the small boat back to Sorrento, but rather, taking the ferry. We did not confirm that we would be doing that, as well, and asked Lorenzo to have the small boat driver pick us up. We returned to the dock after our minibus tour of Capri / Anacapri and the small boat driver had left. He was told that none of us would be riding back with him to Sorrento which was not correct. We had to buy 4 tickets on a ferry back to Sorrento which is unacceptable given how much we already paid for the day trip to Capri. I have requested a full refund for the day trip to Capri and am waiting for an update from Destination Italia. Thank you for your time- Erika PanichelliShow moreTrip date: June 2023
