Anjali· January 15th, 2024The hotels that we stayed in were different to what was listed on our itinerary. The first location in Negombo we were told we’d stay in a beachfront resort but we were a 20 minute drive from the coast. In our final location Galle we were looking forward to being on the the beach. Our tour operator on the day we were meant to be staying Galle said he had to change our hotel as they didn’t have air conditioning to a place that was 15 minutes away from the beach. I contacted the hotel we were meant to stay in and they said they have availability, all their rooms have air conditioning, they also informed me that the tour company cancelled the booking a month ago. I stated all what I have mentioned above to the tour operator there was some negotiations had but we still had to pay the difference of the room. These frustrations gave us a really negative experience during our family holiday and resolving them were not easy.
