Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, but the viewing of Ho Chi Minh was uncomfortable. Water was taken off us, despite the incredible humidity. The officials treated us like children, and kept gesturing that our queue wasn’t straight enough, and we walked too fast. I am putting it down as part of the experiment, but it was uncomfortable. Our Hanoi city guide spoke very good English, but was very repetitive and incredibly ‘shouty’ and spoke non stop, demanding our constant attention. At one point I realised I was missing out on some very worthy sights, and started looking out the window, sharing sights with my husband, but it was difficult to communicate, because of the incessant shouting from the guide. We are very pleased we joined this tour. Danny, 5 stars to you as well. I guess my one piece of advice would be to see if there’s a shortcut to Hoi A from Ha Long Bay rather than going back to Hanoi. I feel that 12 hour journey could have been 4-6 if we’d gone directly. - Mary· May 3rd, 2024We just returned from the Vietnam 12 Days - private tour. The initial booking and all the details were handled by Tony Bui. Very knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions or concerns. The booking process was very quick and effortless. The in-country Manager was Nguyen Tien Dan (Mr. Danny). He greeted us at the first hotel, reviewed the itinerary, assisted with some currency exchange answered some more questions and we exchanged WhatsApp information. The tour was just as we had planned with a few minor changes that we made along the way. When they say it is hot and humid in Vietnam - no joke. But we managed just as everyone else did. Guides C, Tom and Mike were exceptional. Very attentive, historians, story tellers and fun to tour along side. Generally, the vehicles we toured in were always clean and supplied with water. Drivers did their jobs. The one downside (if you call it that) is the luncheons, in my opinion, lacked a bit of variety. Frequently had pumpkin soup, egg rolls and a main course followed by fruit. The food was good but feel that could have changed it up a bit. I thought our guide Tan was very helpful with me, taking photos for us and helping me climb a very high mountain. I was disappointed when 4 of us in the group were sent to different hotels in Hue from Hoi an, you get to know people and then you are separated.
